Ahhhh....A well Deserved Day

Hello my friends, Oh I so hope you all had your most wonderful day ever. I really enjoyed the most quiet, lazy day I have had in weeks. That's right I did nothing.

Lucy is home getting tons of snuggles and much love from her family, a small patch on her head is the only sign of the trauma she has been through. Everyone is happy.

My neighbours are sleeping well, their son is in a Mental Health Facility. Their world is slowly coming back to a routine and hopefully will have a happy ending. Other neighbors are relaxed and are moving forward accepting that no thief is running around loose in our neighbourhood.

All was beautiful in my world today, it was warm outside not hot. A lovely day with a tinge of yellow on the leaves of the few trees that surround my little condo. As I walked towards my mailbox I could smell Fall in the air, and I smiled. Fall is absolutely my favorite time of year. I love the change of seasons. I could never live in an area that didn't enjoy the beauty of all four seasons....way to boring for me. I love the first light snow fall, I take a walk in the first snow fall each year. I love new buds on the tress, warmer sun and longer days showing the beginning of Spring and I absolutely love the hot days of summer, swimming in the ocean, BBQ's and visiting with friends. Oh yes I am blessed to live in a province of four seasons.

I finally delivered the 4 bags of clothes to the charity shop which I had put aside after cleaning closets and drawers.....I couldn't wait any longer for them to pick them up, I was always walking around them. It's good to have that space cleared.

I spoke on the phone, made arrangements to meet 3 of my friends I use to work with for lunch on Tuesday, and waited for the handy man to come and hang up my verticals on the French Doors. I stayed in today so not to miss him, he didn't show up, he didn't even call but for some reason I am okay with it. Today was so peaceful, so relaxing and I was really happy to just "Be" awwww... to have more days like this one.

A boring day for you to read about I know but one I loved and yes..... I deserved this beautiful day.

Good Night and God Bless and as always many, many hugs.......:-)

I am happy to know that your neighbors son is being taken care of. I hope he emerges out of that facility a changed man. And the change is permanent and there isn't a relapse.

I love looking at fall pictures too! Please do click a few pictures of the maple leaves in different colors. I LOVE looking at them :)

Loads of love Bernie :)

Hello again Bernie
You deserved some peace and it's so wise to look after yourself.

It sounds as though the parents of your neighbour have done the right thing my him, getting some help.

Many families don't face the issue squarely and as a result people don't get treatment and sink more deeply into their troubles.

I'm sure your neighbourly ear would have put them in a good space to make the right decisions.

It's hard to do the difficult sometimes.

What a lovely peaceful sounding day... a rare thing that would be so nice here.
So glad to hear your neighbour's son is getting some sort of help. What a horrible thing for his parents to go through.
Bless you for your kindness to them.

Love Granny

Your day was far from boring to was a day savored and the busy ones are not always savored...just rushed through and sometimes even exhausting.

Will keep in prayer the 'permanent cure' of those people's son, but more important that they all lean on God in the future.

There are also the precious prayers of thanksgiving for sweet little Lucy.

It never fails to amaze me that there are people who say they will come or promise to do something and never even have the courtesy to call when they fail to show up. It would be inteesting to see their own reactions to waiting and no one showing up. You do have the right attitude by not getting upset so that is wonderful, just wish I could always be that way when it has happened to me.

Congratulations on a day well spent...may you be blessed with many more like this one.

blessings and serene hugs,

Good morning Bernie...
The summary of your day made me smile...really good news about Lucy and the young man...a relief for both families...having serious worries for their an innocent child and one a troubled child.

Glad you had a LAZY day Bernie...I might just do the same today and make some birthday cards for friends...we have our get to gether next weekend and there are 2 birthdays this month!

Hope the handyman shows up today or calls...I had to lower the blinds this morning while in the kitchen...the sun was blinding me with it's new position in the sky.

Smiles always,

I don't think your day was boring at all. I love the way you write, and I liked hearing about Fall in the air, and so much good news to share (Lucy home where she belongs, your neighbors' son getting much-needed help, a little hope renewed in his parents hearts, the feeling of security restored to your community), you really did have a wonderful day! And I loved how you just had such a great 'go with the flow' attitude about the handy man not showing up! You really were at peace yesterday!
Great post! I enjoyed it a lot, Bernie.
Love you, Eileen

I think I've made 'just being' almost into an art form, since I retired! Of course - it could simply mean I was born idle! :)

Hi Bernie-

Oh my your day was so lovely. I am SO happy Lucy is home with her family. Such good news. And it is also good that your neighbors son is in a mental health facility. He has to be on the right medications for his mental health diagnosis so then he can be treated for addiction. So good news there too. :-)

I, like you enjoy the wonder and beauty of th four seasons. It is lovely here in Southern New England - cool, crisp, sunny and colors of gold and red and burgandy spattered about. Magical.

Have a wonderful weekend Bernie.

Love to you dear friend

It is never boring to hear a friend talk about being content and accepting of what comes ones way. I too love the change of the seasons. I love to sit on my deck and hear the sound in the trees and hear the acorns fall. All is well in the world with God's presence.

Boring? No. I envy you for the oppurtunity to just be for a day :) Busy, busy, busy is not always good; finding the time to observe the seasons change a blessing! I so agree with the four seasons, although frequently vow to move to Florida and forget the cold season followed by fall... have a great day!

I am glad to hear of your serene and happy day. Do nothing days are not to be regarded as useless. They refresh the soul and body both. I too love the change of the seasons with fall being my favorite. We hope we get a long fall here in Wisconsin as we didn't get summer until August. And I am a tree planter and a tree hugger. I have too many in my yard but I love and talk to them all.

Your posts are NEVER boring, Bernie. I'm so glad that Lucy is mending....that the neighbor's son is getting help, that you are feeling the beauty of fall as it enters....ever so lovely a blog.
Smiles and hugs to you, my friend.

Hi Stillness, I am really happy for my neighbours, they had to make a decision and they made, in my opinion, the right one.
I should be carrying my camera all the time as I do see such beautiful sites and only then think I should of brought my camera with me....perhaps I should just keep it in the car. Have a wonderful weekend.....:-) Hugs

Hi June, yes my neighbours seem very settled now, at least they know their son is in a warm place, getting proper food and hopefully they will be able to help him, but he does have to cooperate. No one is sure is he will or not.
They are really nice people and I will always be their friend, it's all I have to offer....being a parent today is certaintly not easy.

Bernie said...

Granny, I am praying very hard for this lovely family, they are carrying a heavy burden right now and I wish there were something I could do about it other than offering an ear. I am proud how they are facing this problem head on and making excuses for them. Life is hard on them right now but if everyone sticks together then just maybe all will work out. Have a great weekend my friend.....Hugs

Hi Marcy, I think the hardest thing about living on my own is not being able to do things myself and having to wait for others. I could never tell someone I was going to do something and not show up or even call....I guess people are different but I refuse to let their actions ruin my is just to precious to me.
Baby Lucy is beautiful and is so happy and content right now, I am so happy for her parents, they looked 5 years younger now that their worry has been lifted. I thank God every day for blessing this family by healing Lucy. Now my wonderful neighbours needs many prayers and their friends right now, I will always be there for them. My day was very soothing to me and renewed my spirt....Life is good right now. Have a wonderful weekend....Luv ya.....:-) Hugs

Good Morning Wanda, I do hope you have a relaxing day today, I really enjoyed mine. Have all the machines going this morning, dishwasher, washer, dryer and vacuum but have the energy I need to use them. I enjoy a productive day as well. I need to get so many things done before my friends arrive on Oct 2. I want to put the bedroom screens in my bathtub and give them a good soaking as they are pretty dusty.
I am so pleased and happy for Lucy and her family. She is just a little doll and just seeing the smiles on their parents/grandparents faces lifts my spirts just as high.
My neigbours son is another problem that will take a long time to resolve but they seem very content in their decision and I do think it was the right one....drugs are very hard to beat and I pray their son will be willing to accept the help that he is now receiving....they are not convinced of this and I understand their feelings as they have tried to help him before, they just didn't realize how bad his problem was.....this young man needs a lot of help. Have a wonderful weekend my friend, luv ya.....:-) Hugs

Hi Eileen, yes I did thoroughly enjoy my day yesterday, and by going with the flow I was able to keep the calm within. I cannot force someone to keep their word, I can only make sure I keep mine. I do hope he shows up today or at least calls me and arranges another time. I hate to see my verticals getting wrinkled as they lay on the basement floor waiting to put up.....only wish I could do this myself but I know I would end up with lots of holes in my wall and they wouldn't be straight. I have had to learn to be patient over the years and it has served me well....but I do get hurt when someone lets me down....I guess I am sensitve to many things and wish I weren't.
Lucy is absolutely beautiful, just pink and white and so contented, I am so happy for God's healing, it could of been a very unhappy ending.
My neighbors are wonderful people and are dealing with a problem that many parents are dealing with sad really but I think they have made the right decision.
Have a wonderful weekend my friend, hope the birthday girl had a wonderful day and so hope she is feeling better.
Big hugs to Jayden....luv ya and think about you often....Hugs

jinsky, I only wish I had adopted the "just being" mode when I retired, I still am not there yet but yesterday was one of those day I was. I only wish I could bottle that feeling and just "be" every day....I honestly believe it will come and I will achieve it.
So happy for you that you are there already, love it!
Have a great weekend.....:-) Hugs

Gail, I have been blessed to visit New England many times in the Fall and I don't think there is a more beautiful place on earth than New England in the Fall....I have pictures framed on my wall from my visits and they are a real source of joy to me.
Oh Lucy is so beautiful and happy as is her family, the neighbours son is another story, all we can do is pray for him and support his many parents are going through the same thing today. So sad that anyone has to loose themselves in mood altering drugs to live in this beautiful world and as you know it's an addiction that is so hard to beat. He has a long road ahead of him.
Have a great weekend.....:-) Hugs

Glad you had such a beautiful day. You DO deserve it. And if my post about the crock pot was helpful, then my day is complete :) It is an easy way to prepare many, many combinations.

Hi Bernie,
I am like you with the seasons. I couldn't imagine living somewhere that didn't have many changes. When you mentioned walking in the snow I was reminded of Ginny. She was here last year on the day of our first snow. It was beautiful and cold!! We were visiting the new Abe Lincoln statue in front of the Appellate court house taking pictures, laughing and freezing! It was a fun day.
I am so happy about baby Lucy. And I do know first hand the relief her parents are feeling as I almost lost Ginny to spinal meningitis when she was one year old. They will have stories to tell Lucy!
Also good that you can relax now and hopefully the neighbors son will get some help. Real help. Sorry that I am so late Bernie, we've been very busy!
Love Di

Bernie said...

Di, you are never late, your comments are so welcome whenever they arrive. I know exactly how you and Ginny felt on that first snowfall is not only a wonderful day but so much fun.
Stay well my friend, I love you always.....:-) Hugs

You are sooooo right, Bernie! The four seasons are glorious. I do complain a LOT at the end of a long winter, but I know it makes the other three even more special. When spring arrives after the dead of winter, it is like a miracle! And now, autumn smells are definitely in the air and those awesome leaves are beginning to turn crimson and gold. I am sure that is what heaven looks like. Good for you for appreciating all that nature offers you where you live. I am embracing the seasons too.
