Lunch with Terri

Hello my friends, we are back in a winter wonderland. I woke up to a blanket of snow this morning and it snowed off and on all day, tonight we had freezing rain. I am hoping the weather clears for the children tomorrow to trick and treat without freezing. I so look forward to seeing the little ones at the door.

Today I drove into the city and met Terri, from Do The Write Thing, for lunch. I know all of the village will be glad to hear she looks really good. She has been very busy and is now keeping her granddaughter for 10 days as her daughter's fiancee has the H1N1 flu. I will let Terri tell you why she isn't blogging as often but I will say she has been very busy working. She brought a shopping bag filled with lots of goodies from Cover Girl and gave me so many lovely things as well as some for my friend Avanish.....what she didn't give me she gave to our waitress. I thought this was very kind of her. After lunch she took me to a bookstore where they sell books for little money, in fact I bought six second hand books in excellent condition for under $10.00, all the money goes to support the hospital. I have so many books here that I am going to pack a box and donate them to this great cause. We also went to a second hand clothing store, neither of us bought anything there but they had some really nice clothes with great prices. Rebecca, you would of loved it there if I had space for more clothes in my closets I would of picked up some things.....but that is something I really don't need, in fact I have many things that still have the price tags on them and even more that I haven't worn yet....I think it's because I am not working anymore. ummmmmmm more things I can donate now that I think of it. I just want you all to know Terry is doing well and working through these cloudy cold days and it was good to see her. We had a nice chat at lunch and before I came home. She is much stronger than I realized and I am very proud of her. I am sure she will post soon as she loves her blogging friends. Wanda I passed on your message and she was pleased to hear how much you care about her and how important she has become to you.....she feels the same way.

Tonight I watched CFL on TV as I sat by a warm fire. Again I had another lovely day sharing it with a friend, good food and conversation......the kind of day that brings me contentment.....so I encourage everyone to share your day, share yourself with others, not only will you support your friend but she/he will support you. That's what friends are for.

Good Night and God Bless.......and many, many hugs......:-)

Bernie, I always feel as though I'm late when I arrive on your blog. I have to stop and think about the time scale. I'm glad you enjoyed your outing with Terri, it's good to meet up with friends.

Good morning Bernie, yesterday was warm and "very" windy here, with rain during the night, that's not good for little trick or treaters either!

I envy your and Terri's lunch and running around together. Bookstores are a favorite place of mine to go and who wouldn't want some Cover Girl samples! Nice that Terri shared them with the waitress!

Hated to hear that someone close to Terri's family had the H1N1 virus, spending time with her granddaughter though is the good side of that!

Enjoy this last day of October Bernie, I hope it adds to your contentment!

Luv and Smiles,
Wanda

Bernie I always enjoy reading your posts, a nice day with your friend, glad to hear things are going better. you have a great weekend. hopefully you are not housebound with this weather. we had rain all day yesterday and froze last night, when I left the dogs out this am, it was like a skating rink out there, they slipped around and just looked at me as if to say, what did you do now. Happy Halloween, Big hug.

Sounds like you are doing ok On Your Own. Can you believe how quick the snow comes and/or the rain. It has rained here again for 2 days. I have never seen a year like this. So glad you didn't have your gas stolen.

Hi there! I was introduced to your blog, via "Granny on the Web" in Eddie Bluelights roast. When I saw you are from Alberta, Canada, I thought I'd become a follower. Once, about 15 years ago, I had the most spectacular vacation, as a guest of the Canadian government, in your province, along with a group of travel professionals. We went everywhere - from Banff to Calgary to Edmonton to Wateron Lakes to Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump to Lethbridge and many other places. What an incredible and beautiful part of Canada! I've traveled the world over but I always recommend Alberta to people who don't want to go too far from home!

I'll be back to read your posts!

Hope the snow holds off for your little trick or treaters.

I love hearing that you and Teresa got together! And it's nice to hear from someone who has one-on-one time with her that she is doing so well!
I do worry about her, especially when she hasn't posted for awhile, it's nice to hear she is busy, productive, and moving forward. I admire that a lot.

I always love hearing about your days and it was especially nice to hear about your day with Teresa! You sound like you spent a wonderful day and I would have loved to be along with you both!

Thanks so much for sharing this, Bernie. It was almost like tagging along!
Love to you!,
Eileen

Good Morning Wanda, it is raining here this morning and I am hoping it will be dry when the little ones come out tonight, I love seeing them at the door. Neither Terri or I had our cameras yesterday, we could of had the waitress take our picture. Terri's daughter has told me her financee is six days ill now and was really sick but she thinks he is on the mend...she is really sweet and is blessed to have her mother close by to help with Bailey.
I really liked Terri's favorite book store and plan on going there more often, also found a place to donate my books which makes me feel good.
It is hard to believe that it is the last day of October already..where does the time go?
Happy Halloween and big hugs to Alivia, hope she has fun tonight.

Hi Bernie - Lovely that you got Treats rather than Tricks from your friend! (I'm sure your company was a treat for her, too.) It is beautiful and sunny today in Breckenridge - lots of snow on the ground. I could finally see the mountain this morning. Keep Warm!

Hi Bernie. You are a gift from God...and I mean that. To have a friend like you close by is a blessing. I wish I had a friend like you that lived close to me.
I have been worrying and worrying about Teresa (aka 555) :)) and I've been praying and praying for her. God is so good. She has you...and you have her....and I was happy to read that you had lunch together and a day out. That was good.... That was a very good thing. I love you Bernie. The world never had a truer friend.

I'm glad you finally got to a second-hand store, Bernie! Sounds like you had a good time with your friend, Terri. (I'm not sure I've visited her blog....I'll check later).

We've had a productive day. Found 3 free items at a garage sale :) & my husband got the exterior of our newest dollhouse painted.

Then he painted and hung a white star above our porch steps. Me? I scrubbed the kitchen floor & did a little cleaning. We're going to have small group here Sunday night...Hope you have a good rest-of-the-weekend, Bernie!

Good, very early, morning Bernie,

I am doing some early morning commenting but boy I am getting sleepy now, but this may be the only way I get it done when I can.

How sweet that you had lunch with Teresa...that surely would be a treat, to have lunch with you!!

I do pray that we are all protected from that H1N1 flu and I hate hearing when someone has contracted it, but thank the Good Lord that there are some medications for it.

Thank you for sharing your days with us, Bernie, it is always a blessing for me.

blessings and happy hugs,

marcy

Hasn't the weather been gorgeous after that wee bout with winter?

Wishing you a happy evening.

good morning Bernie. I hope you are enjoying the winter weather. I like winter time but traveling can be a real hassle. I hope your friend's daugter's fiance gets well. It is such a nasty thing for some people. It was so nice of your friend to give you all those goodies. Sounds like you had great time. *s*
