Good to Be Back With All Of You

I didn't get many pictures of us as there were so many people there and we were so busy. The ones I did get were taking yesterday just before we left but I wanted to show you my two best friends in the world! The one of Terry is of her trying on a french maid outfit from her sister. It was really cute but she would only try it on over her clothes....this was taken Saturday night.

This is the birthday girl, Terry

Annie and Terry

Annie, Bernie and Terry

I have missed you all and am looking forward to getting back into my normal routine.

I have had a wonderful few days with my friends, and the girls left really early this morning, (5 am) and I miss them already. We had such fun, and many, many laughs.

I went for blood work and a couple of other test this morning, Sometime during the next few days I have to go in hospital and have antibiotics by IV as I have severe infections that cannot be cured by taking oral antibiotics, which as you know I am unable to take anyway. Well this weekend is our Canadian Thanksgiving so I don't expect my doctor to call me or make arrangements until next week. I am okay with this as the truth be known the company, late nights and travel has left me exhausted. I wouldn't of changed a second of it but I am looking forward to geting some rest the next few days. I was suppose to go to my nephew's this weekend for Thanksgiving but I am going to pass up the invitation and just relax.

My sister from Moncton called this morning and I e-mailed my sister in Scotland so they both understand that it is nothing serious, I will be fine so I feel comfortable in telling you all what is going on. The infection is due to my rheumatoid arthritis attacking tissue and being a diabetic is not helping me in the healing process. I know I sound pathetic but honestly everyone my body may be a bit of a mess but my heart is full of love from being with my friends and my spirit is strong knowing that I will be well again as soon as I get the IV's....I will only be in hospital a couple of days if all goes well. Terry is coming in and staying with me when I go in hospital. I will keep you posted. Love your prayers and positive thoughts as always.

Annie snapped this as I was saying good bye to Terry, she is going to kill me when she sees this picture....LOL As you can see from the pictures after 3 1/2 days of non stop I look terrible but believe me it was all worth it. I can't seem to find pictures of Denise or Dale on my camera but I will go through them again tomorrow as I would like you to see all the girls. Us girls slept in the 5th wheel as there were 21 family and friends from out of town. Saturday night there were 20 more who arrived for the party that live in Bonnyville. Oh the jokes, I only wish I could remember them all. Too bad I didn't get pictures when we were all dressed up but Terry is going to e-mail me some of hers and I will share them when I get them okay.

It was very cold, windy and poured down rain today. A great day to sit by the fire and watch baseball and hockey. I kept dozing off and on in my chair most of the day.

I do hope you are all well and had a great weekend....I will try and catch up on all your post over the next few days. Love you all.

Good Night and God Bless.........many, many hugs........:-)

My goodness, you did have a grand time. Nothing like a gathering of friends to make you feel good...even when you don't. Will be praying the antibiotic treatment will be successful and you be back to your "perky" self again soon! Glad you're back!!! Cathy

Enforced rest is certainly not the best kind, but much better than none at all! Good luck with the I.V. drugs - let's hope they work fast. Love 'n' hugs from my corner of blogland. xxx

I came this morning saying to myself, "If Bernie isn't back yet, I'm going UP there to find here!" And here you are. I missed you.

My biggest concern is that you don't overdo and lose rest/sleep over catching up! (And there IS a lot to catch up on....) It would be better to be healthy and rested than caught up, exhausted and ill.

Your pictures and descriptions let me know that you had a wonderful, wonderful time. Love and laughter flow out from between the lines. Cherish all the memories.

Prayers for your quick recovery from my heart. God bless you today, Bernie.

Good morning Bernie...It is good to have you back home and to have my morning coffee with you again!

I know you told me how tired you were in an e-mail, but honestly you look great, not at all terrible as you say. Being with all those friends must have been
so gratifying...with all the food, fun and laughter...were there any fights over the bathrooms? Hope there was more than one...so funny to imagine 20 some women and only one bathroom.

Resting is a good idea Bernie, even though you may miss Thanksgiving with your nephew's family...your health is more important.

Wish they would put you in today and have you well by the weekend and Thanksgiving! But if not...don't do anything but REST and BLOG of course at your leisure!

Luv and Smiles,
Wanda

So nice to have had such a good time with your dear friends. It was also heartening to know that Terry will be with you when you go for your antibiotic treatment. Please, please remember to eat yogurt before after and during to build up your system for the antibiotics. Everyday, without anitbiotics, I still take one dannon activia yogurt a day and it sure has helped eliminate my acid reflux!

Please try to catch up on some rest too, Bernie as you have had a wonderful but exhausting time!

blessings and happy hugs,

marcy

Hi Bernie,
Welcome back! It looks and sounds like you had a wonderful time with your friends. You deserve it.
I hope all goes well for you. Continue to rest and take care of yourself. With the weather being cold and rainy, that is time for a good book and a cup of hot tea.
Enjoy your day.

Welcome back, dear Bernie
I only have a minute (as I'm heading out the door in a few mins to a Dr's appt and then I am going to volunteer at the humane society)
so no time to comment on your post.
You know how slow I am at typing.

Just came by to say "hi"
Missed you!

So, I'll be back later today.

Lots of hugs to you, my friend.

Margie:)

Yes I did miss you, but I am so glad you had a great time. I know the feeling of getting to do something special and then having to take a few days to rest up. I don't admire someone giving out advice, but being a nurse I can't help it. Be very careful who you are around and where you do go, since your immune system is compromised. But I bet you know that. Until you get your ABs you are vulnerable. I don't want you to get down any further. Sincerely, we girls have to stick together and stick up for each other. Thanks for all your kind comments.

HI BERNIE -

It is SO nice to be with you this beautiful Autumn morning. Your visit with your best friends sounded so, so lovely. I am thrilled for you and for them. I am also glad you chose to relax for a few days even though I am sure you missed going to your nephew's for Thanksgiving.
I will pray that the IV antibiotics will clear up any infection completely. How long will you be in the hospital Bernie?
Please take care and know that I am holding you close in prayer and love.
Gail

I wrote earlier but don't see it posted. The gist was: If I didn't "find you today, I was going to come up and head up a search party!"

THEN I encouraged you not to even TRY to catch up! A lot has happened, and I know you're interested, but it can be exhausting as well as interesting....so listen to your body and protect it for a few days.

You were missed terribly, but better rested and healthy than exhausted and ill!

SO glad you had such a happy time with your friends & family and that they look after you so well.

Good Morning Wanda, there were men and women there (husbands & wives) and it was so much fun, the food was delicious and the company was the best!
I honestly have been sleeping like a baby since I got home, and then sleep all through the night....Terry has 5 bathrooms in her home and then we had the one in the 5th wheel, it all worked out wonderful.
I wish I were getting it over with soon as well.....I have always been the type "if it has to be done let's do it" but I haven't heard from Dr. John yet. I had the test yesterday and I am not sure how long before he gets the results...they go to the rheumatologist (sp) first then copied to him....only in mild discomfort so I'm not complaining.
We had snow this morning, already has melted but more on the way tonight.
So good to be back blogging, I missed you and all my friends. Hugs to Alivia......(and you) xo

Hope your friend is better Peggy.....:-) Hugs

Hi Gail, yes I will miss my nephew and his family this weekend but I know I am not well enough right now for two busy weekend's in a row. Dr. John said I would be in hospital 2 or 3 days but I don't think it will be that long really. will keep you posted.
We had snow this morning and they are calling for more tonight. Looks like Fall is over and Winter has arrived......Luv ya, ...:-) hugs

Dearest Bonnie, You have a way of bringing out smiles. Reading about your loving time with friends is indeed warming to the heart. Your good time now shared, is reason to celebrate. You are now to have a complete recovery and enjoy well being. and that with certitude!

Posted and also want to be assured of receipt:

Bernie, A smile is filling this heart - thank you for all your interest and loving support. If ever you have any question in regard to any of the poems in, THE WIND AND THE WILLOW, it would be my pleasure to respond. Each poem a reflection, a questioning, a searching, of the ways of life and spirit. As you see, the poems are organized, as too, often our progression takes place. Both the introductory poem of the first section, "The Spectator's Eye" and the concluding poem of the last section, "Innocence and Delight," are lullabies with refrains of praise. And so"The first and the last: "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord" (Revelation 1:8).

Rebecca my dear friend, your comment did make it through twice and I loved it both times.
I am fine and will be even better when the infection heals.....:-) Hugs

Dear Bernie,

I am so glad that you did not need to miss your special time with friends and family! Infections do need to be taken seriously. I am so glad that you are going into the hospital for treatment and monitoring and that you have a friend with you. When listening to doctors talk and report what they have found and are doing, four ears are better than two. Then you have someone to ask, "Did he/she really say that?" etc. My prayers are with you.

Bernie said...

Rose Marie, thank you for your kind words, I am enjoying your book of poems very much. Have a great day......:-) Hugs

Bernie said...

Brenda, thank you sweetie, it is funny that even when I don't feel well I seem to manage to always enjoy my friends....they are a great bunch for sure. Yes Terry will be with me when I go for IV's I only wish I knew when. I wouldn't think they would leave me too long but who knows anymore, I will keep you and my friends posted for sure.....:-) Hugs

Hi Bernie,
I am so happy that you girls were having fun partying! Only sorry that you aren't 100% right now. We will pray that the IV antibiotics will do the trick quickly so that you can get back home.
And even though you won't be able to enjoy Thanksgiving with your family this year, it's probably a better idea to just get some rest. So take care Bernie and read a good book! Love Di

Bernie said...

Hi Di, how are you feeling today, I sure hope you are better.
I am resting by the fire with a good book and don't plan on doing too much until I feel better. I am having a coritsone shot on Friday, at least my doctor hasn't cancelled it, I haven't heard from him since my test yesterday.
Have a great day sweetie...:-) Hugs

Bernie...there are angels among us...and you are one. I come to your blog knowing that I will receive a blessing...and I am never disappointed. Your friends' smiles and your smiles say sooo much about the good times you had.
You look terrific....and I am imagining you in front of the fire this evening.....relaxing.
Please know that you are in my prayers. What a sweet spirit you have... I complain when I have a headache...or that I have to do the dishes...and you, gentle one, are about to fact antibiotic via IV...have other health problems and still have that smile that exudes through every word...every post. You are one terrific lady. I wish I lived closer to you. You take care of yourself, my friend.
Love you much,
Jackie
