A Good Day

Hello my friends, I had a quiet day today again but it was a good day and for that I am thankful.

My phone woke me up this morning just before 9 am and without asking you to guess who it was.....Dr. John. I said it's Thanksgiving, why are you working. He then proceeded to go over a few things with me and I said okay, but don't you have a game to go to or something? He just laughed, remember I told you he was the team Doctor for the Edmonton Eskimos (football team) and the Edmonton Oilers (hockey team). He is so busy and I am so thankful that he always finds time to call and check it with me. I am going to see him on Wednesday.

I managed to go out for a walk today in the snow. Thank heaven's for UGGS, I had to wear a winter jacket, scarf and gloves. It was wonderful to breathe in the fresh air even if it was only for a short time. When I got back home I came in and got my camera to take a couple of pictures for you. It was -10 and the wind was cold. It snowed off and on all day. Sometimes is came down heavy but when I was walking it was falling softly and I really enjoyed being outside.

These are taken from my front door step, and the snow isn't showing that well really.

I have a dentist appointment tomorrow and a few errands to run so I am hoping the roads will be good. Terry called today and said she heard it was going to turn nice next week for a few days. That will be nice as our last snow storm was May 31st and for snow to return Oct. 6th ......well 8 months is a long winter.

Annie called me from Nova Scotia and she was out golfing this afternoon, then my friend Dale from New Brunswick, who is visiting her daughter in Calgary called tonight and they didn't get any snow there all weekend, although it was very cold. She is going home tomorrow morning and it was so good to chat with her before she left....A nice day to hear from my best friends.

Good Night my friends and God Bless........many, many hugs.....:-)

Thankful WITH you for your good day. I'm thankful too for your good doctor. You are certainly blessed. When we prayed for Gary's doctors last week, I asked God to give him (the doctor) an interest in our situation that surpassed "professionalism". I think you have that in Dr. John. God has you in HIS hands, and Dr. John is a living portrait of how God's hands must look.....

Good morning Bernie...
It's 7am here and still dark out and like most mornings I appreciate having my morning coffee and muffin with you.
Glad you had a walk in the snow yesterday, makes me wonder when that weather will slide down here...for I myself need some new boots!
Be careful getting out today for the dental appt. and tomorrow's doctor appt. I will be picking Alivia up at school Wed. as her mom Sherri's dad is having blocked carotid artery surgery and she will be with him.
Today we may be taking down the covering on the gazebo, while it's nice and dry.
Have a good relaxing day after that dental appt. Bernie.

Luv and Smiles,
Wanda

Good Morning Bernie,
I love your snowy photos! I do love winter. Except of coarse when I have to drive in it! How nice that you took a walk in the cold crispness!
I do believe my son will be bringing some wood this coming weekend!
I am happy to hear that you felt good enough for the walk!
Love Di

Bernie....the photos of your home and the snow are sooo pretty. You just don't know how I wish I could be there and play in that snow...just like a youngun' :))
I hope that you continue to feel better and better. You know that Jackie has to worry a little bit about you. You won't complain...that's not like you, but I do hope that you'll let us know if there is anything we can pray about or anything we can do for you....please. Enjoy your day and know I'm thinking of you.
Love,
Jackie

I can't get over that snow!
Eight months of winter! No way! I love snow, but no way could I take eight months of winter weather!

I'm glad you had a good day though, and it is nice to walk in that first snow!
I need a pair of Uggs!

Okay, I'm running around like a chicken without it's head.
I'll be checking in here though to see what your doctor has to say.
Take care, Bernie.
Love you lots!
I'm going to miss you lots too!
Love and Prayers,
Eileen

Minus ten already? Brrrrr! W're still in the 60s and 70s here in northwest Georgia, with rain, that in-between time of summer and fall. The trees haven't quite changed to the boldest colors yet, but soon. Your snow would be something to celebrate here as we get it so seldom, except for a few flurries. Hope you have a good day despite the cold ...

Hope you feel better soon!

Hi Wanda, we sure have had cold weather here but just heard it is suppose to warm up for Friday and Saturday. More snow today and tomorrow and if it's too bad I will change my doctor's appointment too Friday, I don't like driving on the highway when it's icy.
Enjoy Alivia on Wednesday and yes Wanda do all you can to prepare for winter now that it is dry as snow can surprise you for sure.
Have a great day my friend....Hugs

Hi Jackie, the walk in the snow was pretty but it has come much too early this year, suppose to be nice for a couple of days later this week and that will be a nice break for us. Have a great day my friend.......:-) Hugs

Did you say -10 as in -10 Farenheit???
Oh my goodness, Bernie. And here I am complaining about in the 30's F!!!
We also got snow though...about two inches last night. We are supposed to finally go back up in the 50's on Sunday or Monday, which I hope is true because I didn't get to "take down" any of my gardens yet.
I am so pleased that your Dr. is so attentive to you. What a great Dr.!
He tends to the Edmunt. Oilers? That is a pretty famous team!
Once I was in an airplane and that whole team boarded with us. They were good looking young lads and had their athletic bags with the team's logo on it. Girls were all over them to get autographs. I chatted with one of the players who sat next to me all the flight, but I can't remember his name. Really nice lad.But that was about 10 years ago now, so I am sure he isn't even playing hockey on the team now. ha
You take care of yourself and know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
BTW, if you ever want to chat about your health issues on the side, please email me! I am here to talk and listen and electronically hold your hand. :-)

Hi Joan, oh I have a great doctor, and he is so funny...his wife is a doctor as well and they have a practice together.
I always enjoy our e-mails Joan but honestly I don't have anything more to report, still just trying to heal infections for the most part.
No I am talking celsius not Fahenheit....which is still cold but not as cold as F. Have a great day and hope it warms up to get your garden done.....:-) Hugs

Hi Gail, yes my doctor is more like a friend to me than doctor and even moreso lately. I am blessed. I did have a nice walk yesterday and I too have errands and a dentist appointment today. The fresh air feels good after being in a couple of days. Good Luck at your appointment and enjoy Skipps days off.....:-) Hugs

Hi Bernie, thanks for your great comment on my ball. It was so much fun to do all the fun things to put it together. We will probably have some snow soon. I am planning a party at Churchill Downs on Millionaire's Row for the Ky. Derby in May, first Saturday. Plan on coming and find you a nice big derby hat. Bring a friend, famous or otherwise. We will see all kinds of stars on Millionaire's Row. Plenty of time to plan.

Hi cinner, it is so cold here today, the wind is unbeliveable and it is still snowing. The dentist told me today it was going up to 20 on the weekend....I hope he is right!
Are you still getting snow in Ontario? This is far to early for winter to start.....:-) Hugs

Rose Marie, sorry I shared the snowy weather but I did have a lovely walk. Today was much to cold to walk but I got out for a few hours anyway and I enjoyed the day very much.
Perhaps I will be able to share a beautiful rainbow this weekend as it is suppose to warm up.
Thank you for your kind words, sending you hugs right back...Hugs

We experienced some snow yesterday too -- up by the cottage not here. No, here is supposedly good for a few more days.

Not only do we have snow in common, but I am due to visit the dentist tomorrow.

Oh, Bernie, I see that blue winter light already at your doorstep. Hope it turns golden for awhile again next week. Glad you could get out into the invigorating air. It's been raining/snowing/sleeting here in Breck since early morning. I was going to hike but I've stayed in my PJ's in front of the fire. Bob is in Denver, so I have some alone-time.
We babysit for the youngest Grands starting tomorrow night until Sun.
Thinking of you and hope your dentist visit went well!
