Not So Busy Today

Hello my friends, I pray a good day was had by all.....I had a quiet day, calm and not nearly as busy as yesterday.....I loved it! Really hot today, especially on my deck, 37.5 but I think it was only 24 at the airport. (Marcy that's Celsius not Fahrenheit)

I slept in this morning until almost 9:30 and I still didn't feel like getting up. I went downstairs made my coffee and got my daily newspaper from my mailbox then headed back to my bed. As I read the news, drank my coffee I watched the French Open Tennis quarter finals on TV and as I was laying here enjoying the moment I had to smile to myself, it kept going through my mind, life doesn't get any better than this.

I finally forced myself up and hit the shower at 11, as I wanted to make it to Curves before noon. Not that I worry what anyone might think about what time I arrive, no that doesn't bother me a bit but I wanted to phone my sister in Scotland and knew she would be home if I called her around 2 pm my time as it would be 9 pm her time. Last night I was lonesome to hear her voice but didn't want to call in the middle of the night. So call her I did and it was wonderful to hear her voice. She is so funny and always makes me laugh. She is doing well and like me is working to take off some weight. She has already lost 6 pounds where I have only lost 1 1/2 pounds but then I have only been trying since Sunday. I also spoke to her husband for a minute and he is doing really well. He keeps himself in good shape as he walks and cycles almost everyday.

I worked out at Curves today for 45 minutes. I have met so many ladies since I started and we chat as we use the machines so the time just flies by. I have always disliked exercising but I am really enjoying Curves, I cannot believe how much energy I have when I am finished. I wish I had discovered this a few years ago. Curves is very clean, well managed and the girls are terrific.

As I said earlier I called my sister when I got home then had my lunch, well I should say brunch as I didn't eat breakfast this morning like I always do. Then I headed outside to play with my flowers. I am so enjoying playing in the dirt. After tending to them, I swept my deck and hosed it down. I then wiped the dust off the furniture and as I looked around I felt so thankful to have such a lovely place to sit, enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. It was a good feeling.

I only came inside when the phone rang, it was a friend of mine who wanted to know if I would like to go for dinner and a movie. Since I had no plans anyway I gladly agreed as it was nice not to have to cook supper.

Anyway it was a lovely dinner, we went to East Side Mario's in St. Albert and I had salad, pasta and my glass of white wine. I know, I know that isn't going to help me loose weight....ummmm I wonder how many calories in 2 glasses of wine in a week. Doesn't matter, it was worth it.

We saw Star Trek at the movies, not I am not a big trekki fan but it wasn't too bad. It was hot today so it was nice sitting in an air conditioned theatre.

I got back home around 10:30 and had 3 phone calls to return. I don't usually call anyone after 9 pm at night but these people ask that I call when I got home so I did. It was all good news and now I have plans for another busy time next week. That's what I like about summer, I get to see and visit with friends I haven't seen in months. Sooooo love the summer.

It was a lovely day, very relaxing and filled with love, laughter and good friends. Life is good!

Am off to read my favorite blogs and comments, tomorrow is going to be another beautiful day, for all of us to enjoy, Good Night my friends and God Bless.......:-) Hugs

Good morning Bernie
Yesterday you commented the cage for your tomato was too big...believe me you will be shocked how large it will grow...it will fill that cage and above most likely...I have had to pinch the top out of some...late in the season...to keep one from growing to China! :)

You are right about the spider...big, but pretty much harmless...like you and Barb said...made by God ...could be Charlotte:)...Anyway friends asked what did I do...I just grabbed the camera and let it be and today will move the half barrel to another place in the garden...there was a mate inside also.

Hope you have another great day...but I already know you will...Life is what you make it.
Smile and take care Bernie!

Bernie, your day sounded very nice! I love how you are so thankful for everything.
And your day was HOT ~ 37 converts to our 99 I think! Whew!

And congratulations on the weight loss! I've heard two pounds a week is the ideal goal for the first month, so again, CONGRATULATIONS!!

Glad you got to talk to your sister and visit with friends by phone! And your dinner and movie sounded so nice too.
I don't think two glasses of wine a week is going to sabotage your diet (maybe two a day would!).
I'm glad you're enjoying Curves so much, I'm thinking of joining again myself this Fall after my grandson starts school full-time.

'Hope you enjoy another nice day today!
And thanks for visiting at my blog!

Oh, my husband read your "Martha Stewart" comment and laughed out loud (a very evil laugh I might add!).

Dear Bernie, Thanks for the info on your classes. What a wonderful thing that you do.And I imagine that it gives you great satisfaction? I'm so glad that you are enjoying Curves. Even though I lost a lot of weight there I do believe that having all of that extra energy still is my favorite part.It has greatly improved my health. And I think that one glass of wine is under 100 calories, not too bad unless you have about 10 glasses at a time!!!!!!!!!!

Blessings each day said...

Wish we could get a picture of you playing in the dirt...sigh, sigh...I'll show you my dirty hands if you show me yours? Actually, my feet don't look so 'hot' either when I finish and have watered the large garden!
Glad you had a nice night out and dieting shouldn't be completely restrictive..occasional indulgences can be made.

blessings and hugs,

marcy

p.s. Think I have finally caught on that you will always be using Celcius, although it is a shock when one doesn't know!

Hi Bernie,
Nothing better than to live your life on your own terms. That is a wonderful luxury! Glad you enjoyed your workout at Curves, it is always a lot of fun, and everyone is so friendly. I loved it. How was Star Trek?

It sounds like a perfectly lovely day. You have me inspired, wanting to join Curves myself, but as providence would have it, our local Curves went out of business a few months ago. It was practically within walking distance of my house, too. Drat! ;-Þ

That hot there huh!! Same temperature as in our part of the world :-)

Good that you kept yourself busy all day with all things productive :-)

Exercising is something that you have to make yourself get used to. That is what I've realized it. Even though we dislike it so much, it is just SO good for us. Keep going Bernie :-)

Hi Wanda, I am so looking forward to everything I planted growing, I am learning to enjoy patience. I wish I could remember to keep my camera near by, I have missed so many beautiful opportunities.
Hugs my friend......Bernie

Hi Diana, yes I do enjoy my volunteer position but there are times I so wish I could do more, sometimes all I can do is pray but I believe whole heartedly in prayer. I love Curves, should of been going a long time ago, the ladies have added so much to the enjoyment of my day.
Have a great day .......:-) Hugs

Hi Marcy, oh yeah I know what you mean about hands and feet when one is playing in the dirt. It's only for a short time as our season is so short that the dirt and broken nails only remind me how blessed I am to be able to do what I can. I love being outside, hey make that
2 pounds lost, slow but sure hope to have 15 off by mid July...I love the challenge of a goal.
Have a great day......:-) Hugs

Hi Terri, Star Trek was ok but not my first choice but then I was invited and treated so wouldn't think of complaining. My friend is a real trekki fan.
Oh I do love Curves and the people I have met. It's fun. Am down 2 pounds this week, only 13 to go...yeaaaaaa! Have a great day my friend.....:-) Hugs

Hi Renna, oh it's too bad that the Curves near you has closed, no matter what time I go, it's packed so I don't think there is a fear of closing. It has been here 5 years now and I live only 5 minutes away, don't know why I waited so long.....:-) Hugs

Sounds like you had a lovely day, Bernie. I envy you at times. You seem to have such a vibrant spirit. So much energy inspite of it all.

I get lonesome to hear my foster sisters voice. She is quite elderly and has been having some problems with colon cancer but is really quite spry inspite of it all. She stays up late too so I ofen call her in the wee hours of the morning and talk. It is nice to have someone like that to talk too.

Retired One - It was a great day Joan and I loved it. Hope your day was just as wonderful...Jugs

Hi Garnet, how are you feeling? Yes I am blessed with a contented spirt and I thank God every day for that. I am sorry about your foster sister but am glad to hear she is spry and seems to have a great attitude. God Bless you both.
