Time Well Spent

Hello my friends, I do hope you all had a wonderful day. It seems forever since I talked with you, that's what happens when I am use to posting at night and yesterday was early morning....for me. Now Wanda has a full day's work done before I am even dressed for the day! Way to go Miss Wanda.

I went to Curves yesterday and was only home a short time when Terry arrived. She was so tired. She had been so busy with having her grandchildren and daughter for a week and all that driving. It was so good to see her. She had a 2 hour nap before we headed out for dinner and a movie. Now I wanted to cook supper and stay home so she could relax but she wanted to go out. We went out to the Olive Garden and had the most delicious pasta ever....then we went to see The Proposal. She loved it and I have to say I enjoyed it again as well, in fact I was more aware of the beautiful scenery than when I saw it the first time. I only told Terry I had seen it earlier when we were driving home. We both got a laugh out of that.

Terry was up, showered and had her breakfast before I even woke up. She had to be on her way home early as she had an appointment later this afternoon. It was a short visit but great timing and I really enjoyed having her. She had known my husband from when we were teenagers together so when we got home we recalled old memories and laughed so hard over some of the things he had done.....good memories, good friends equal a good time.

After Terry left I tidied up and headed for Curves, had a great workout and 3 of us exercise fanatics went to Tim's for coffee. It was a really warm day but very windy here today. This evening was calm and lovely outside and I sat on my front doorstep with neighbours and had an iced coffee. Thanks Diana, I didn't think I would like it but it was very good, mind you my neighbour made it not me....but she did tell me how, so that will be my cool down drink this summer.

We chatted about the deaths of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson, so sad really. One never knows what each day may bring that changes family's lives forever. I hope everyone gives their loved ones an extra hug tonight and tell them how much you love them...won't take much time and will mean so much.

Thank you all for your kind words yesterday and Sis I did get your telephone message, thank you, I love you..xoxo

Good Night my friends and as always ...God Bless.......:-) Hugs

Hi Jackie, I drank iced coffee tonight and have just began to get sleepy now. I just left your site and loved the donkeys...and learning about your parents. Have a great day.....:-) Hugs

You have a good one, too, Bernie. I just posted you on my site about Marcy's former occupation. That was sooo much fun to try and guess...and a fun read, doncha think?
P.S. I've never tried iced coffee.

The news of Michael Jackson's demise reached us only today and I am shocked to say the least. My sister and I used to listen to him when we were young. He was only 50! That is still so young!!

I am so glad you weren't alone yesterday and spent it with your childhood friend. With friends, everything becomes easier to handle. Loads of love to you Bernie, take care :)

Good morning Bernie...Well, I won't be going out early this morning to work...I think it rained most of the night...never saw such constant lightening...

Ispent my early evening with Alivia...it stormed then as well...the sound of thunder frightens her a little...Her sister Amanda has read books about storms to help alleviate her fears...it has but not completely...Being ushered into the locker room at her recital because of tornado warnings did not help...She noe thinks one need s bunker for storms...these locker rooms look like they are underground...under the cement bleachers of the gymnasium...they look like a fortress...I used them in gradeschool myself...Any way while here, with her sense of impending doom, she kept telling us how much she loved us and that I was beautiful...it makes me almost cry with joy this morning...fits in with what you had said...little children just seem to know naturally what is important to say to loved ones.

Enjoy this weekend Bernie...I'm working on a post but have been pretty busy with life...

I so agree, Marcy's post was fun!
Keep smiling and take care!

Good Morning Bernie, And to think that you doubted me! Actually I never thought that iced coffee would be good either and then I just started to crave it like a pregnant woman! The heat I think, it made me delirious!
It sounded like a wonderful day Bernie and isn't funny how we notice different things in movies the second time around?
I was very sad about Farrah Fawcett. She was so, so brave! And really shocked about Michael Jackson, I grew up listening to him, he was my age. Such fond memories his music gives me.
I love your weather Bernie, enjoy it for me!

No, we don't know what the next day will bring, do we? I think it's probably better that way. Gives one a sense of adventure AND shields us from the anxiety of it before it would be necessary - freeing us to enjoy THIS day, this hour, this moment....

I like your formula - good memories plus good friends = good times!

Sounds like you had a nice day, Bernie, and I'm glad you had your friend to reminisce with. Bittersweet, but still so good to recall those memories.

And I think it's so nice that some of you get together after your exercise routine, I love how just one shared interest can build relationships sometimes. And then you go on to find other things in common.

I'm addicted to iced coffee in the summer! My sister got me started on that kick years ago!

Have a good day, Bernie!
All the best,
Eileen

I'm so glad you had a good day. It does us good to talk over memories with good friends, especially on special days.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I plan to. I also have discovered i like iced coffee.

Blessings on your day. Donna

Wonder if I diluted, added sugar and a gallon of flavored creamer to it like I do regular coffee...would iced coffee then work for me?

Brings a smile to my face when I hear you've had such a nice time.

Already told Michael that I want to see that movie too!

blessings and hugs,

marcy

Hi Stillnees, yes I too was sad when I heard of MJ death. May he know the peace now that he never knew in his lifetime.
How is your tooth? Is today the big day it comes out? Thinking of you my young friend...:-) Hugs

Good Morning Wanda, I love how you said you were too busy with life, good for you.
My heart is full for Alivia and what she has been through. Her fear of thunder is understandable and it was so cute how she expressed her feelings to you.
I not sure where it came from but we have had heavy winds now for awhile, usually settles by evening but by morning everything is blowing again.
Have a great weekend enjoying your life my friend, as well you should......:-) Hugs

Hi Diana, thank you for your tip on iced coffee, I really like it. I felt sad when I heard of MJ death, but he now is at peace. I always loved his music.
I read on another comment that you had 2 strokes, oh Diana I am sorry about that. You are so young, I hope you are much better now. You are so kind to all of us and your humor is wonderful. Let us know if we can be of help to you (in some way from blogger land) I know you "work" all weekend but I still hope you enjoy it....:-) Hugs

Have a great weekend my friend.

Hi Eileen, I just left your site and loved your post. I did have a nice evening with Terry. We have been friends for so long and been through so much together that I do find comfort when she visits. We also have a lot of laughs together. I am off to Curves in an hour, have a great weekend....in the pool....:-) Hugs

Marcy, I think you can add those things to your coffee but I had mine black with a slice of lemon and tons of ice. It really was good.
Have a great weekend with your grandchildren....:-) Hugs

Hi Bernie,
I loved the movie The Proposal too. My son Adam took me to see it. It was much better than I thought it would be, and I would go see it again too. Glad you are keeping up with going to Curves, and it sounds like you are making friends there. Is it helping with your arthritis?

Thanks for your comment! It shocked me out of my doldrums, I AM OK, and I AM ON MY WAY. I actually have a job to start on Monday...it is part time, but it is a start, in the right direction. I am hitting it with the Spa thing for the month of July, and already have a few demo's booked. My friend Laine got her first check, and it was $928.00! Tracy got one for 238.00! Both of them were jazzed!

Hi Terri, the truth is I didn't give you that info to shock you, I only wanted to let you know that you wouldn't be left alone with no money for food or housing. It was my way of trying to reassure you but when I read your reponse I realized that it stirred you up enough to know that wasn't the way you wanted to go...we may not know what we want but we just may get there by eliminating what we don't want. You are going to be just fine.
Happy to hear about your job, it is great and if everything works out well with SS then you are on your way. Terri, I am really happy for you as I know you will do well at whatever you do.
Have a great weekend my friend.
.......:-) Hugs
