What a Day

Hello my friends, I do hope you all had a great day. It was really nice here today, then of course any day the sun shines it's nice here.

My day started early as I wanted to go to Curves before the girls came in to clean. I usually have one girl cleaning but today there were two of them. Now my house is pretty clean so when they arrived at 10:15 they looked around and asked if there was anything special I would like done. I said definitely the floors but they felt it wouldn't take long to do them so they helped me to do other things that cleaning ladies don't normally do. We first went upstairs and they turned the mattresses on both beds, I gave them the linens and they made my beds up fresh, they also cleaned the wooden blinds before they started their normal routine and cleaned everything else. I was so pleased as I find it hard to turn the mattresses on my own and I had planned on wiping down my blinds next week. As they vacuumed and dusted their way downstairs I started doing laundry, it was mainly bedding but had to be done.

When they got to the main floor, one was in the half bath and the other was in the kitchen, they were just flying around. I took a cup of coffee and sat outside on my deck. Jenn, asked me if I wanted anything special done downstairs like inside the fridge, well I had just cleaned the fridge last week but I said let's change the living room around. I couldn't believe it they had everything placed where I wanted it in five minutes. Then they proceeded to give everything a good cleaning. They even cleaned the pictures on my walls, the mirror which had been over the couch, the wooden blinds in that room. They vacuumed everything, everywhere including the furniture.
They did a wonderful job and as I lay here tonight the house smells of Vim and furniture polish....it's a clean smell and I love it. What a nice day and I am so thankful to have won the draw! The house is spotless, I wanted to give each of them $20.00 as I wasn't paying for the clean and they normally charge $37.00 an hour for each girl, I thought the least I could do was give them something to buy a sandwich or something, but they wouldn't take it. I only knew Jenn as she is the one that comes to my home to clean for 2 hours each month and I always give her a nice gift at Christmas but I won't see this other cleaner. I was so pleased and just wanted to show my appreciation. I will mail a thank you card to the company next week. I am the only 2 hour clean they do and they are not taking on any more customers unless it's for the full 4 hours. I just don't need them here that long and it is quite expensive, now that I am looking at all they did maybe I do need them. Oh well, thank you Lord for the pleasant surprise of a free house cleaning day.

I did go to Curves this morning, honestly I was so tired I could of fallen to sleep during the drive there. It wasn't long before I was wide awake working those machines, I think of Diana every time I am there. The girls I work out with are funny and full of life. They are happy and it is infective, you know I started for the benefits of exercising, I think I'll stay for the great company. It doesn't matter what time of day you go there are always nice ladies around but I am used to going later, anytime between 11 and 1 o'clock and usually work out with the same people, it was a whole new group this morning.....still fun.

I really am tired tonight as every day has been busy for me lately except today. All I did was laundry, and a bit of ironing but I started the day tired so I am looking forward to a good night's sleep tonight.

Am off to read my favorite blogs and comments......Good Night my friends and God Bless......:-) Hugs

Makes me tired just reading about your day. I am envious of you having help with the cleaning. I always used to be so proud of my house and enjoyed looking after it and making it as lovely as possible. These days I have to less particular, as I just can't do the physical stuff like I used to.
I think it was a wonderful idea of your cleaning firm to have a draw, congratulations on being picked!
I shall sit and look at my smeary windows now! lol
Love Granny

Good morning Bernie...Your winning the free house cleaning made me think...Good things come to good people...then I realized I hadn't turned our mattresses yet...usually done in early Spring.

With all this rain and humid weather, I had been lax with the bird feeders too...ALL 6 were empty...filling them took a while...

I will be going out for groceries later...and the makings for smoothies...Andrew and Dylan's favorite summer treat...

Have another good day...Smile and take care.

What a happy day! To have everything all cleaned, and rearranged like that! Almost feels like a new home! I love that feeling, and I think that's why I rearrange my furniture a lot, plus it gives you incentive to keep things nice for a little while (with a house full here all the time, I can't keep up with everything, especially the grandkids toys always strewn about!).
I'm glad that no matter what time you go you always seem to find a nice group of women at Curves. But I think you are a magnet, I seriously think that people are drawn to you.
I search through lots and lots of blogs, but the ones I keep returning to are the ones that hooked me from the very first post I read, and you are one of them!

Thanks for all your nice comments on my blog!
All the best, Eileen

Good Morning Bernie,
First I have to thank you for your sweet comments on my thank you post. It is very helpful having a support system and I am very glad that all of us can vent and laugh together!

I am so happy that you are enjoying Curves and you are right about the ladies there. It really picks you up after being there, Physically and mentally as well. The energy is an added benefit. I have only gone once this week but if everything feels better I will be back next week.

I decided that I would like your cleaning ladies to come here very much! They sound wonderful, like magical little cleaning fairies! I wonder if Katie could turn into a magical little cleaning fairy too! I will not hold my breath!

Hey Miss Giggles and Smiles, I so love it when you visit. You sound so good natured and kind. I really appreciate those lovely cleaners yesterday and I did try to be kind and did treat them with respect. They did so much more than they had to, and for that I am grateful. Have a great weekend my friend....:-) Hugs

Bernie! I want those cleaning wizards, too! Normally, my Hubby is my cleaning Guy - he does a great job, but it's tough getting him off the bike long enough to put the sweeper in his hand... Glad Curves is going so well. I read that you've already lost 5 lb - you look great on the pictures. Keep up the good work and keep smiling. My son, wife, and 2 youngest Grands arriving tonight for the weekend. Bye for now - I need to start cooking.

Boy,if you sent those cleaning ladies over here, I would keep them busy!

How wonderful for you...it will help you not be so sore from cleaning too.

Barb, I wish everyone could have those cleaning wizards for a day, they were wonderful. I am so glad your hubby helps you. Enjoy your son, DIL, and grandchilren this weekend, hope the sun shines on you........:-) Hugs

Hi Joan, I think we all are able to keep those ladies busy, I thought of more things today I would like to have done like light fixtures and the hutch on my buffet. They won't get done before the Fall now, but that's okay.
I have not been too sore nor are my feet and hands very bad, I really appreciate these pain free days after that last attack. All feels right with the world...
Have a great weekend my friend...:-)Hugs

I have read blogs from teenagers that are not as active as you are. I, like some in here, get tired reading all the stuff you do. My friend Bonnie that I mentioned in my blog gets help with her cleaning and they do a great job. She is always happy to see them come. She, like you is very active but she suffers from Fibromyalgia and several other things and the cleaning helps her find time to take care of herself and do the things she needs to do to keep healthy.

Garnet, I've just finished commenting on your blog! I used to be high energy and on the go so much more than I do now. My arthritis has slowed me down a lot. I am like Bonnie, your friend. I do have one lady come in once a month to do floors and heavy cleaning for me. It's only for 2 hours but by her helping me it let's me do things I really enjoy. I am losing my weight slowly and enjoying Curves. Good Luck with your surgery sweetie....
....Prayers and Blessings to you my friend.....:-) Hugs
