Friends

Hello my friends, I hope you all had a Terrific Tuesday, I did. Our sun was out today, it was warm but very windy.

My best friend Terry is arriving tomorrow. She is bringing her daughter and grandchildren in to the airport as they are flying home to British Columbia tomorrow. It's too long a drive for her as it is 5 hours each way so she will break up the time by staying all night here and then drive back home on Thursday. She wants to go see The Proposal tomorrow night and I haven't told her I've seen it already. I will wait before I decide if I even will tell her, she is so good to me and helps me in so many ways that it won't bother me to see it twice. We talked for an hour today on the phone as one of our old friends back East is having a problem and we are worried about her. Now our friend has been through a lot and her attitude is causing people to stay away but as I said to Terry, "we don't have to change friends as long as we understand friends change." Terry and I are both going home this summer, I am going in July and she is going in August she thinks. Anyway she is glad I'm going home first so I can help our friend before she goes home. I had to laugh as they always put me in the "fix things" category. I'm not sure I can help but I do know I will always be her friend, now Terry isn't quite sure she can handle the new attitude but I know she will as she always does. She doesn't have a mean or hurtful bone in her body.

I went to Curves this morning and am feeling less pain each day. Thank you God. I then went and picked up a few groceries just in case we don't go out to Dinner.

I have a gold bracelet with a gold heart charm I wear all the time. It is a gift from a dear friend and this afternoon as I was shaking towels from the washer to put in the dryer, I head a cling and my bracelet had fallen into the washer. It didn't break just rolled off my wrist I guess. I put it back on without opening the Lobster clasp so I am taking it tomorrow to have it made a half an inch smaller as I don't want to loose it. I didn't think one could loose a size on their wrist.

I have had a lovely day, I did my half hour work out, got groceries and cleaned my house almost pain free. Gotta love those cortisone shots!

My outlook is not working tonight, I called my server and they said it could be 24 to 48 hours before they are done repairing the problem. So frustrating as I miss my e-mails. I still have the Internet service though which I am grateful for.

Am off to read my favorite blogs and comments.....Have a great Wednesday and as always Good Night and God Bless.......:-) Hugs

I'm glad that heard your bracelet as it fell...and that you retrieved it from the washer.
I have to say "Congratulations"....the wrist size is smaller....and it's because of your fortitude and sticktoitness (not a word....just made it up) :-)) The fact that you put it on without opening the clasp is the second sign that your Curves Program is working. Good going!!!
When I lose weight, it's not in the wrist...it's not in the waist, hips, or thighs. You wanna guess where? It's where a lot of girls/women want to 'enhance' with implants. Yep. That's what leaves me first. Nothing leaves after that. So, I'm just going to continue to eat....and excercise (light exercise....verrrrrry light exercise.)
I'm glad that your friend is coming tomorrow. I hope that the problem with your friend back East is one that you can work through. It sounds like you will...You have a great attitude about it. I love what you said when you said, "We don't have to change friends as long as we understand that friends change." I want to always try and remember that.....
Smiles,
Jackies

Hi Jackie, I was happy that I heard the cling as well or it would of gone through with the next load of laundry.
I only have one breast and one of my friends ask me if I were going to have reconstruction and I broke out laughing, "why would I want to match this one, it's almost to my knees" LOL is how I responded.
I am enjoying my work outs and I am so thankful for Curves as it motivates me each day, I know I wouldn't exercise by myself at home. I can tell by my clothes I have lost weight/inches and I think it will help with my arthritis as well. I have never heard of losing inches on a wrist, but that would be me...loose in all the important places...LOL
Oh I hope I can help our friend, apparently many of her friends and family are a bit fed up with her, I will try as we have been friends a very long time.
Have a great day my friend....Hugs

How lucky your 'lucky charm' bracelet fell off at home and not out somewhere, where you may not have seen or heard it fall off. I haven't heard of wrists getting smaller, but it is logical to think it must do, I know once when I lost a lot of weight (through ill health and not dieting) I noticed all my shoes kept slipping off. True!
I am sure with your positive attitude you will be able to help your friend when you get back home.
Hope your 'Outlook' is working now. Isn't it funny, at one time we didn't have email, and now it is vital to us? ... and texting, I never thought I would use it, but I do now.
I hope Terry arrives safely, what a trek! 5 hours. We moan because it it 2 hours to our nearest airport! I'll remember that next time!
Love Granny

Nice to know that today you had one of the better days. Continue to exercise because I think flexibility will always keep stiffness at bay. Take care!

Good morning Bernie...Lucky you have good hearing and heard your bracelet fall...I think one could lose a fat around their wrists and off their hands...think of babies and their fat little wrists that they outgrow...Curves is working!!!
It's good that you enjoy it!

We had a good day weather-wise too..warm and breezy...possible rain tomorrow...I should go buy groceries myself today...Andrew and Dylan asked me to pick up the makings for grilled subway sandwiches next time I went...that, homemade soup, and smoothies are what they love best...they are easy to please!

Maybe your friend back home has health issues that have changed her personality...if anyone you can help soothe her soul Bernie.

Smile and take care!

My first thought when you said the bracelet had fallen off, was thank goodness it wasn't lost in the laundry or lost completely, but that was followed by, could we please have a picture of something you treaure so much???
I think it is so cute that you have a friend who helps you with doing things around the house and she is so good at it, so that is her specialty and now my Bernie's specialty is 'fixing' people things, emotions and feelings and what a great specialist you are! Maybe you could open up a practice...think you would have tons of customers because we let tons of things overwhelm us!

I, too, thoroughly enjoyed the not changing friends...so beautiful!

blessings and hugs,

marcy
p.s. Will surely let you know if I hear from Tamara.

"We don't have to change friends as long as we understand friends change." You are full of wise thoughts! Your friends are blessed to have you as a friend. SO thankful to hear that your pain is subsiding! So motivated by your consistency in exercise! I'm going to pray that your friend back East gets a "heart transplant"...that her attitude softens. And for the friends/family around her - patience and long-suffering. And for you, her friend at a distance...more wisdom and insight into what is making her "tick"!

'Glad you found your bracelet! I've lost a few that way! And now that I think of it, both times were when I was dieting, so I guess you can lose weight off your wrists!

I like what you said about your friend, sometimes friendship does become hard work and it feels like it shouldn't be this hard to remain friends, or there are times when you feel like this isn't the person you were friends with because they seem to have changed so much. Your attitude is the sign of a true friend. I don't know if I could do it, but it will help me to keep your wise words in mind.

Have a great time with your friend! And that's another sign of friendship to not tell your friend you already saw a movie she wants to see! Isn't there anything else playing that she'd be just as interested in seeing?

Thanks for always being so kind to me, Bernie.
Blogging is like having life coaches and cheerleaders! You are all too good to me!
Have a great day!
All the best,
Eileen

Good Morning Bernie, It is hard to deal with people sometimes when things aren't going just so for them. But a true friend understands this and sticks around for the long haul. You sound like a good friend Bernie. It would be so nice if we all could be happy all the time.
Gotta love those cortisone shots! I've been pretty good with the arthritis but I don't have RA like you, just OA. But my acts up more when it rains or in the cold. The cold is the worst and I like the cold!
Soon Bernie you will have to buy all new clothes!

Granny, yes Terry has a long drive, 2 1/2 to 3 hours to my place and another 2 hours to the airport, then to turn around and drive back home is just a bit to much at our age although she has done it before.
I am looking forward to seeing old friends and family when I go home, the good, bad and ugly as I am sure that they think all of these things of me at one time or another, we all have bad times in our lives but we still are ourselves.
Have a great day Granny.

Stillness, how are you my young friend...did you see the dentist about your tooth? I have been thinking about you and the pain that tooth has caused you.
Yes, I am doing and feeling better. I know the exercise helps but I also think the change in weather has a lot to do with it as well. Have a wonderful day.

Good Morning Wanda, I thought of you this morning as my alarm went off (Wimbeldon) I totally am not a morning person as you are.
I was so glad that I didn't loose my bracelet, it's become a part of me as I never take it off (I think it's because of the arthritis)
Our friend is going through a divorce after almost 40 years of marriage, that has to be horrible for her. I don't blame her for being upset as her life has turned upside down. I'm not sure I can do anything except be her friend. She probably has a lot of trust issues right now and I know she is very hurt.
How do you make a grilled subway sandwiches, they sound so good. I love the relationship you have with your grandchildren. You are blessed my friend.
Wanda that saying is in my journal, I'm not sure if it's mine or one someone told me. I have always kept a journal and they are full of so many sayings and things and each and everyone has ment a great deal to me. That is something I have laspe on since I started blogging...the written journal has been put aside.
Have a great day my friend.

Hi Marcy, oh yes I am so blessed to have my friend Terry visit at least once a month and this month twice. She is so organized and is always willing to help be it physically or emotionally. She came every week when I was going through Chemo, she would take my sisters shopping, just too many things to mention.
I am thankful that I heard my bracelet as well, I would really miss it. I will take pictures of my favorite things for you all Marcy, it's going to be hard to pick as everything I have is a memory. (just one of my many weeknesses)
I do love people...as you do Marcy and I try to help through my volunteer work, it is draining at times as I care so much that is why I always enjoy my summer breaks to re-energize.
Have a great day my friend..Hugs

Rebecca, thank you for your prayers for us and all of our problems, I live in a group (myself included) that seems to have many, but we all love and care for each other. I have many sayings written in my many journals and I'm not even sure it is one of mine as I always write down everthing that mean something to me. I am so blessed with many friends and that includes my blogger friends. Have a great day Rebecca.....:-) Hugs

Eileen, I was so thankful to have heard my bracelet.
You know at times anything can become hard work but I feel if you love it no matter what it happens to be then you work through it, this time it happens to be our friendship with an old friend who is going through a very hard time.
It will work out, it always does.
I like your suggestion about the movie, I will let you know what happens.
I really enjoy blogging as well Eileen, it has brought many special people into my life including you my friend.
Have a great day....:-) Hugs

Good Morning Diana, I was thinking last night that I am going to have to buy some new clothes soon, all my clothes that have some spandex in them are okay but all my cotton's and things are beginning to look baggy, but hey new clothes are a good thing!
The weather bothers my RA as well Diana, both my sisters have OA and they suffer so much more than me. With me it's tissue with them it's bone and I feel so bad for them.
Today is your day my friend, I am thinking of you with my prayers and my heart.....Hope this is a great day for you....:-) Hugs

Good morning Bernie. It was as painful as ever so I went to see my dentist this afternoon, and like you, Wanda, Jackie and Diana advised, extraction is the solution. So extraction it shall be this Saturday. There is a lot of inflammation for which I've been given a pain killer and an anti-biotic. With all that, I am virtually pain free. Thank you SO VERY much for your concern Bernie. I wish I could hug you right this moment Bernie :)

Bernie said...

Stillness, I am so glad you saw the dentist and he was able to help you....you will feel so much better when they remove it...it will take a few days to heal.
Now I will have a great day knowing your not in so much pain.
Luv ya.....:-) Hugs

You were so lucky to hear your bracelet fall and that you can fix it...
There are good people in this world. A few years ago, we went to Mexico and I bought an opal bracelet that was very expensive. I loved it! I wore it home on the plane. When we got to our car with our luggage to head home, I look down and it was missing. My heart sunk. Of course I am thinking that it must be in the airport, being stepped on or stolen. But I retraced my steps and thought maybe (just maybe!) the van that transported us from the airport to the hotel where we had left our car may have found it. I call them. No such luck. My heart sunk again.
Then we drive the long 7 hour trip home arriving at 4 a.m. There was a voicemail that another driver went out to the van and researched it and found it! (There ARE angels, because I was so praying that someone would find it!). They offered to mail it to me. I was so happy!
Guess What? A month later, I go grocery shopping and when I get home, no bracelet again! Again, I call and ask if someone found it. No such luck. I leave my name and number, just in case.
A WEEK later, I get a call from the grocery store. Someone found it in the parking lot, in the snow! UNDAMAGED. Can you believe it? Not crushed or anything....and someone was honest and turned it in and refused to leave their name. Angels again! ha
I got a different latch put on now and it hasn't happened again. (thank goodness). Besides, my Finder Angels are tired.ha

Joan, angels and honest people seem to go together. So fortunate to have found your bracelet twice! Good for you....Have a great day my friend.....:-) Hugs
