Hello my friends, as always I hope you all have had a wonderful day. It was warm here today but ever so windy, my flowers have really taken a beating in this wind. After 3 days of high winds I'm not sure they will recover.
Here are a couple pictures of my favorite things, I love these hummels. Each one was a gift given to me by a special friend on a special occassion. They are really "special" to me as are the friends.
Now these eggs I treated myself too. I have just noticed I haven't included one other as I only have the four. I had planned on collecting more and I will.....when I win the lottery.
I watched Wimbledon this morning before going to Curves. I then drove into the city to meet friends and I got lost. I have absolutely no sense of direction and I vowed today the next car I buy is going to have a navigational system in it. Those cars were made with people like me in mind. I finally made it to my destination and was a half hour late, Thank God for cell phones. I did have a wonderful afternoon catchong up on news with the girls I use to work with. We had worked together for almost 4 years at GE. GE is closed now and many of the girls have had to find new employment and most of them are now with the government. Myself and one other retired and we both are enjoying being out of the rat race, especially on those cold wintry days. It was wonderful seeing the girls again and we had so many laughs going over some things that had happened when we worked together. (I was able to drive straight home......yea!)
I may be going to Red Deer tomorrow night until Monday, will know for sure in the morning. This is a long weekend in Canada....it's Canada's Birthday, July 1.....Happy Birthday Canada.
If there are no post for a couple of days this will be why.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend....Good Night and God Bless...:-) Hugs

Oh, Happy Canada Day to you Bernie.
Love the jewelled eggs.
Have a great weekend.
Love Granny
Hi Granny, just left your site. I have a lovely white enamel egg but forgot to put it in the picture.
Thank you Granny, but it's not on Monday it's Wednesday....Glad you enjoyed your trip. My sister in Scotland said they were having very hot weather as well.
Have a great weekend....:-) Hugs
Hi Bernie. You can buy portable SatNavs... I have one and wouldn't be without it. You can tell how much I rely on it, when the first one went kaput I bought another.
Loved the pictures, it's ages since I saw any Hummells.
Good morning Bernie...
We have had wind, rain, and hail messing with my flowers...some of the lilies look torn and bruised.
The 3 fawns were in the circle of the drive last evening...they could not be skinnier...hope they don't devour my plants, but find food elsewhere.
I would be drawn to your girl and boy on a bench figurine...my son makes benches...and your beautiful jeweled eggs look expensive...
We celebrate Independence Day on July 4...usually have a large picnic...wish you could come! :)
Am headed outside to neatened up the yard a little...before it gets too muggy...don't want to sweat!
Enjoy your trip if you go...
Smile and take care!
Good Saturday Morning Bernie,
HAPPY CANADA DAY! Bernie I get lost in a heartbeat which is why I don't care to drive to new places. My husband who is a truck driver, called me the other day when he came to a crossroads (this man rarely gets lost)He wanted me to tell him if I would go left or right. When I told him that I would go right he said "o.k. then I will go left"!
My mother has a Hummell of each month of the year. They are very cute. I love the eggs, they are like your own personal treasures!
I hope you have a nice weekend Bernie.
I've a thing for out of focus things, and I really admire your sofa. Ofcourse the hummels and the eggs are cute :-)
Oh yes the GPS is a BIG help. I've no sense of direction myself and familiar places appear new to me when it is dark!
Have a wonderful Holiday Bernie, and continue taking good care of what you eat and your exercise routine, even though we aren't watching you. But we are always thinking about you :) Loads of love :)
Well, just in case I forget on Wednesday let me say now ~ Happy Birthday, Canada!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend if you do get away, Bernie!
It's always fun to catch up with friends, the women I used to work with try and do that once a year (my boss is long retired and taking care of her sister with Alzheimer's so it's hard for her, and another girl that was in the office lives in Colorado now) we got together last Fall and it was wonderful.
I really enjoyed seeing your 'favorites', I always liked Hummels but I have no collection of them, I have one that I had given to my Mom years ago (the little chick girl), after both my parents passed away my sister Diane told me to take it. My Mom and my Aunts all had big collections!
I've never seen anything like those beautiful eggs before! I can see why you like them!
Take care, Bernie!
All the best,
Eileen
Happy Birthday, Canada, too! I identify with lostness. I don't have a GPS system either so I depend upon written down directions (which of course can be inaccurate or incomplete). Leads to many adventures, doesn't it? Hope your trip plans gel and prove safe & happy.
Hi Val I am glad you can get them there, didn't want you to be without my friend. One of my Hummels is over 40 years old and the others are not that far behind.
Have a great day Val...:-) Hugs
So nice of you to put on "Ben" as your soundtrack today. I am still saddened over the loss.
Happy Canada Day to you! (Did I tell you I lived in Ontario for about a year when I was little?)
I will miss your posts, but certainly understand.
Oh, before I forget, you can buy a GPS and plug it into your cig. lighter in your car. That's what we did..we bought a TOMTOM and I love it...very easy to use and it wasn't too expensive. Maybe you could buy one right away instead of having to wait until you get a new car. The TOMTOM is VERY easy to use and has found all the destinations we put into it.
Good Morning Wanda, it is still windy, cloudy and really cool this morning...I too am going out to check my flowers.
Do you all get together for a picnic in your yard?
We are leaving in a few hours for Red Deer, it will be a nice break and I don't have to drive....heaven. Have a great weekend my friend....:-) Hugs
Diana, I had to laugh when you told me about your husband taking the opposite road...too funny!
Have a great weekend my friend....
No ironing now, promise...:-) Hugs
Hi Stillness, thank you sweetie, was your tooth fixed today? Hope I hear from you before I leave in a few hours but if you aren't able to I will talk with you when I get back. I will try very hard diet wise but the exercise may only be walking. Lots of Hugs, xo
Eileen, those Hummels are almost as old as me but I love them because of who gave them to me.
I love my eggs the best, can't believe I didn't put my white one in the picture as it's my favorite.
Yes, I would love more!
Hope you are having the sun, it's really cool here today, I'm wearing a fleece.
Have a great weekend...:-) Hugs
Hi Rebecca, oh would I love a GPS system, one of the girls told me yesterday that I could get a hand set from Costco for $150. I am going to check it out the next time I am there.
Have a great weekend.... :-) Hugs
Joan, one of the girls told me yesterday I could buy one at Costco and I am going to when I there. I think we have Totom here in Canada. I will be back on Monday sometime but I am looking forward to a couple of days away especially where I am not driving. Have a great weekend....:-) Hugs
Hi Bernie,
I'm thinking as I type this that you're on your trip to Red Deer - hope it was a wonderful time. I'm in Denver for a few days - have my annual physical on Mon. It's much hotter here than in the mountains, though it's only 90 miles in distance. I got up really early this AM to run my 4 miles so I could beat the heat. I have an appointment to be Rolfed this afternoon - my first experience at Rolfing. I got a gift certificate from my son and daughter-in-law for my B-day. By late this afternoon, I might be 2 inches taller!
Hope you're feeling well and rested.
Hi Barb, no I am not leaving until around 3 and I'm ready now. I am just watching Tennis. WOW you run 4 miles a day, very impressing my friend. I have never been rolfed but hear it is very good for tissue around muscles. I will be interested in how you make out, hope you tell me about it. Good Luck with your medical on Monday. I don't like medicals but always feel happy when they are over with and glad that I had it.
Take care my friend....:-) Hugs
Happy Journey Bernie :D Come back SOON. By the way when are you coming back?
Hi Stillness, how r u doing? I will be back on Monday and will try and post Monday night if I am not too tired. Take care..:) Hugs
You mean on the 29th right? I shall dearly miss you :) Take care :) Loads of love :)
Hi Bernie...You have a lovely collection of eggs....and what fun you will have adding to them! That will be an ennnndless adventure.
Happy Canada Day.
Smiles from Jackie
Hi Stillness, yes the 29th, I will miss my blog as well...perhaps it's good to be away from the addictive computer for a couple of days.....:-) Hugs
Hi Jackie, just waiting for my drive to pick me up, I love my eggs but the truth is I have a memory with everything I keep or I don't keep them. I am looking forward to adding to my egg collection for sure... Catch up with you in a couple of day.....
:- Hugs
Hi Bernie
At long last I've been able to get through to make a comment. It took a long time to download all your blog - must be some pretty big files there or my computer is a man and not able to multi task. That's probably it.
Glad you had a good day and now I can get through I will visit more often.
Thanks for your support at my places.
You ask about dialects or accents. Coronation Street is quite close to it because that is filmed in Weatherby, Nr Manchester. Stanley actually is a Yorkshire man but Sam Small comes from Lancashire quite near Mnchester and Liverpool (near where I come from). Bless you ~ Eddie
Oh! and I liked the Hummels (my Mum had some) and the eggs - beautifully decorated ~ Eddie
While you're catching up, I hope you will come by and claim your gift. Have a grand day! Cathy
Hi Bernie
Managed to get through OK today.
Loved the Hummels (my Mum used to have some)
And the ornamental eggs are so great I could eat them!!
Thanks for all your kind comments. Love Eddie x
It hasn't been raining for the last couple of days here either and some plants had look so withered, i hope they will survive after i'd just hosed the whole garden down.
Smiles,
~Silver
Looks like you might be back today and catch this...hope you had a super time. It's so wonderful when you don't have to drive!
Love those eggs of yours, for awhile my oldest daughter collected them, then along came the babies and I have no idea what she did with them (Goodwill might know, sad to say).
Please post your white egg next Friday.
blessings and hugs,
marcy
Another award waiting for you on my blog if you want, Bernie!
Jackie, thanks I do love my eggs. Will be over after I get a many things done ok...:-) Hugs
Eddie, thanks for your kind words, I have been away a couple of days but will check in on Sam when I get a bit more time.....:-) Hugs
