Golf Anyone

Hello my friends, hope you all had a great day. I know your all wondering about the weather.....cool and rain this morning, sunny and cool this afternoon. The good news is temperatures are on the way up in the next couple of days, so looking forward to that.

Up early again today to watch the Men's final of the French Open, I really enjoyed it as Roger Federar won.....Yeah! I had an extra hour between the tennis match and church so I spent it on the computer answering e-mails.

Church today was lovely, the children adorable and their parents proud. We prayed for the children in Mexico who lost their lives in a day home fire. Over forty have died already with many more in hospital. So sad, the innocents, and their grieving families.

After church friends and I went for lunch then one of my girlfriends asked if I felt like hitting a bucket of golf balls. It sounded good to me so I came home and changed (warm clothing) and grabbed my 3 wood, and 3 and 7 irons. She was out front waiting when I went out the door and off we went to Cardiff Driving Range. It was so much fun, we had some real good belly laughs. I hadn't hit a golf ball in years and enjoyed it immensely. Now she is a member and plays often. She has been encouraging me to join the club but golfing hasn't been the same to me since my husband passed away, but it was fun today. I hit the backhoe used my a guy picking up golf balls more than I hit anything. Thank God there was a cage around him to protect him. I am sure if I had been trying to hit that backhoe I wouldn't of in a million years. I'm sure he thought I was doing it on purpose. There was a tournament going on and when we finished hitting golf balls we went into the club house for a cold drink and were invited to stay for supper. They were serving surf and turf, lobster and steak, baked potato, salads, coleslaw and rolls. We pushed tables together so that there were 10 of us sitting at the table. Soon someone brought out a guitar, someone else played the spoons and the singing began. It was sooooooo much fun and I came home tired, cold, full and happy around 7:15. It was something I haven't done in a long time and wasn't planning on doing it today even but sometimes when we have an unplanned day it turns out to be better anyway.

I had my bubble bath to rid myself of the chill, which I still have I might add. I came to bed and watched the Tony Awards. They are the closest I'll get to a broadway show in New York, although that is on my list of things to do.

I am off to sleep, will read my favorite blogs and comments tomorrow, have a wonderful Monday my friends.....I'm back to Curves ....Yeah

Good Night my friends and God Bless...:-) Hugs

sounds like you had a great day. Hubby's aunt loved golf. She was well into her eighties before she quit playing. I would love to learn how to play but have not done so yet.
Good night and rest well

Gosh, now you are playing golf! Well done to you, and I am glad you had such a fun time.
Warming up here again today, after a showery Sunday morning and evening. In between was fine, and we got the family here to help, with jobs too heavy for us. It was great, and I went out and bought in fish and chips for everyone ( 10 of us!)
Love Granny

Such a nice day! And a good way to get in exercise hitting a bucket of balls when not at Curves!
And I agree about the 'unplanned' sometimes being the best times we have. That was a little Gift from God.
My husband is an avid golfer, but unfortunately his foursome doesn't go out much anymore, the economy has made them cut back quite a bit.

Have fun at Curves again!
All the best, Eileen

You could have always passed it off by saying "Look how good I am...watch me hit the guy with the backhoe", (and watch him cringe).
So nice that you had a good time

You just prove how correct the saying goes that "if you look for good things you find them and if you look for bad things you find them."

blessings and hugs,

marcy

p.s. Have you chosen lavendar because of its calming effects...our grief group in Phoenix, AZ learned about it, so I look for it even in lotions.

I admire the way you fill your life with friends and interesting activities! My husband golfs well. It would take me 5 shots to every one of his. I really should try harder :)

Good Morning Garnet, I use to love golfing, you should give it a try, but I am really sore today. I need a complete day down with nothing to do, that's my life all or nothing LOL Have a great Monday, hope your knee is better..:-) Hugs

Wow, Bernie, you had a 'wonderful' day. Whenever you want to go to the driving range, let me know, I would love to go. I bought a set of golf clubs last year, and only got to use them a few times. I love golfing, used to do that a lot when I lived in California, with my sons, and with Joe. The dinner and the entertainment afterwards, sounds wonderful...glad you had one of those unexpected days...they are the best! It is funny how way, leads on to way!

Good Morning Wanda, am thinking of you and herhusband today and said a prayer as soon as I learned of his checkup today.
Wanda, I do live a varied life, I am so interested in and enjoy so many things. I am as the saying goes "jack of all trades, master of none" I do love sports, except the violent kind like boxing etc. I so love all kinds of music, books. I find all my interest such a comfort and are blessings. I do love life. Will be waiting to hear how herhusband made out,...:-)Hugs

Hi Eileen, golf is an expensive sport even hitting a bucket of balls is not cheap anymore. My day was fun but I am feeling it today.
Have a great day ....:-) Hugs

Hi Marcy, I choose lavender because I love the smell of it. I use it in my bath, body lotion and power. I also have sachets in my dresser drawers and put one under my pillow.
I did have a fun day yesterday for sure but I am so out of shape that I am feeling sore today.
Have a great Monday....:-)Hugs

Hi Rebecca, of yeah most of my days are full of friends and activities, all which I love. I seem to go in spurts, really active or just relaxing. Right now I need to do relaxing. Golfing with your husband would be fun if you enjoy golfing....:-) Hugs

Don't you just love those unplanned, spontaneous days? Sometimes they turn out to be one with the best memories!
Weather report here?: in the 40's and raining all day. My poor hubby went out and got a load of wood for our woodstove (to use this coming winter) today in the rain. But he came home happy that he found a good load.

Lovely day!!!! Hope you warmed up, though...When we lived in Weybridge, I used to sit in front of our little space heater, and grade compositions ...our row house was so drafty... never could get warm :-) Have a wonderful week!!! You deserve it! ~Janine XO

Hi Joan, oh yes it was a great day but I am sore this morning. Sorry about your hubby's wet day getting wood, "spoil him" for all his hard work. Hope the sun comes out soon, it is still cool here.
Have a great day..:-) Hugs
