Hot Humid Enjoyable Day....Love It

Hello my friends, a hot day here on the Prairies, a nice change really and it is going to continue to be hot right up to the weekend...Yay

First I want to thank everyone for your support in helping me through the "battle" of the tooth which turned into a "war" and eventually I won.....I am almost back to normal as the stitches came out today and I was even able to eat solid foods....Oh yeah, life is good.

After Mass yesterday, I rested/slept all day. I managed to do a bit of reading but that was it. Poor Tiger, he really needs me....LOL... The only two tournaments I didn't watch all year, The British Open and the PGA he really messed up. He must of known I wasn't watching.....just say'in.

I was busy this morning doing household chores, out for lunch then ran some errands. I had to take some jewelry in to be repaired and I needed a couple of batteries for my watches. I'm sure that store beckons me in my sleep. I ogled the trays forever but managed to leave with just doing and buying what was on my list. Ye who have little faith would of been shocked as I talked myself out of something turquoise and beautiful.

Tonight my friend came over. He lives in Sherwood Park and was able to rent Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont. It was a good movie but Di, I am positive I don't write like she talks.....she is far more of a lady than I ever could be. There were some similarities though, yes we have the same pearls, earrings, scarves and matching coats....I can't believe I'm saying this but I dress like an 80 year old lady......but I assure you our taste in shoes are far different. My friend and I chuckled whenever something similar came up. Now I have to say my friend said there were some expressions she used that sounded like me but I honestly couldn't see it. I really enjoyed it as it's hard to find a movie today without a lot of bad language and sex scenes so this movie was kind of refreshing. A bit sad but a good story.
It was great to enjoy cheese/crackers, a bottle of wine and a good movie with a great friend. My kind of evening. If you see another movie you think I might enjoy Di, let me know okay, it's nice to be able to choose one that's been recommended.

I have my a/c on in the bedroom tonight, I think it's only the third time this year I've had to use it, but it's nice to know summer hasn't left us just yet.

I do hope you all have had as pleasant a day as I have, until tomorrow my friends,

Good Night and God Bless.........:-) Many Hugs

The warm weather is going to be wonderful for the arthritis and I am so glad :) I'm also happy to know that it isn't paining as much and you came out of yet another ordeal with all the strength that is humanly possible! Now the only thing that I wish for is that the arthritis of the jaw that the doctors were talking about is something that was incorrectly diagnosed and all the reports confirm it isn't there!

Hey Bernie, once the jewellery gets repaired do put it on and share with us that beautiful picture :) I've always seen you dressed very simply :) Just a request, if you are uncomfortable doing it, don't do it please :)

Enjoy the warmth Bernie and stay healthy :) Loads of love :)

Hello Mis Tranquility, yes no aches or pains today and I am very thankful.
Not sure what you mean by beautiful picture sweetie, I don't think I even have a beautiful picture of me, jewelry I have, too much really. I don't mind showing you that, perhaps I misunderstood your comment. Luv ya.....;-) Hugs

Bernie, that sounds like a great time especially with good friends. Its hard for me to pass up turquoise too.

Hi cinner, I haven't met a piece of turquoise I didn't love. I have many pieces and love each piece.
Have a great Tuesday......:-) Hugs

Nice for you to be having some real summer weather. Good for the old bones I believe, I know I hurt more in the winter-time.
I too have seen and enjoyed that film, it was sad in parts, but she was such a good actress Joan Plowright. I shed more than a few tears, but then I am such a softie, as soon as I see Lassie on the screen I fill up with tears! David thinks it is more fun to watch me!

Love Granny

Well...All that I meant was that you would look very beautiful with all of that on!:)

Nothing like a good friend, I agree! Shared very simular experiences over the weekend, helping a friend into her 'new' life, painting, dinner, wine and a movie...moments that can never be replaced (we went and saw Time Travelers Wife) read the book years ago, the movie brought it all back, beautiful story.

Good morning Bernie...
So you let Tiger down...hope he forgives you!
Good to hear you received an "all clear" on the infection...and able to put that experience behind you.

I need to get Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont and see for myself...you know sometimes we are surprised how other people see us...different facets of out lives stand out to different people...

Enjoy your hot weather...are you sure you like the humidity though...it does me in...we have rain predited for several days here.

Wear blinders when you pick up your repaired jewelry :)

Take care,
Wanda

Oh, Bernie, I can relate to your disciplining yourself with jewelry buying, my passion is not jewelry but it is shopping for home decor, especially in thrift stores or places named "Country Clutter"!

I'm glad you are feeling so much better and I'm glad you enjoyed some quiet time alone, and also that you were able to share such a nice evening with a good friend.
It all sounds so wonderful.

I want to see that movie just to see if I agree with Diana!

Thanks for your very kind comments to me, Bernie, I appreciate it so much.
Love,
Eileen

Now Bernie I don't think of you as an 80 year old lady. It was just some of her stories, especially the one about her and her husband that remended me of you. I absolutly loved Mrs. Palfrey and would like to find a dvd of it for myself to have. It's very nice that you were able to enjoy it with a friend!
I'm so happy that you won the war against that infection. Hopefully you'll be over and done with it for good now. What happened to you the other night? I kept looking for your post and you weren't there! Love Di

Once it stopped being cool and rainy here, it hasn't stopped being very steamy.

So happy to hear that the tooth problem is a thing of the past. I, too, would pray that there is no arthritis of your jaw or that it never acts up, ever!

Now, I will have to try to get that movie too, although you did say it was sad, so that means I need to watch it during the day.

It would be nice if you did give us some favorites in your jewelry...none of us has done that yet and it's a good idea!

blessings and hugs,

marcy

Good morning Bernie
So glad to know that you are now able to eat solid foods...did you have some of those wonderful berries you got over the weekend?
I plan on going to the grocery store very soon and get some strawberries & make strawberry shortcake for tonite...a little treat for hubby as he loves it so!

It's too bad about Tiger losing!
I just saw the recap last night.

I have seen the movie Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont...it was quite sad but a good movie.
I am a real movie buff and love a good one!
Having the cheese & crackers and wine & watching a movie with a good friend, well, that just makes watching a movie all the more special.

I too love turquoise and find it hard to resist...my hubby bought me the most beautiful turquoise necklace on a San Francisco trip in 2007 & I wear it often.

Well, do enjoy the warm days...it's quite cool here this am but I love the cool mornings as I take my dog on a long walk each am and having it cool is perfect for both of us!

Have a splendid day!

Margie:)

Hi Granny, the movie was really good and I had tears in my eyes at the ending but I agreee she is such a wonderful actress, I have seen her before and always liked her.
Have a great day Granny...:-) Hugs

Thank you Stillness, (I keep mixing up your name) do we still call you stillness? Seriously I do dress simple, just match everything that's all.....:-) Hugs

Kay, I have seen the trailers on Time Travellers Wife and find it appealing, I think I may see it soon as well.
Have a great day.....:-) Hugs

Hi Bernie-

SO glad your tooth is good - and the process is over. Amen.
Now, I am just sayingf here that I believe that you have had two dates with "male friends" this week. Now I am just saying that it seems, and I could be wrong, that you are in high demand - and I think it is great!

And I am NOT a fan of summer at all so I am SO ready for the cool weather - and we are in a heat wave here. ugh.

Enjoy your day -
Love Gail
peace.....

Good Morning Wanda, Diana and my friend saw similarities but I honestly don't talk that way, not to me anyway. It was a wholesome movie and she was an excellent actress, you will need tissues at the end though.
Good idea, to wear blinders when I pick my things up....temptation is so great and I can be weak when it comes to jewelry.
I am enjoying this hot spell so far as we have not had much of a summer, just taking in all this wonderful heat for a change.
Have a great day my friend....Hugs

Bernie said...

Hi Eileen, No I don't think I am like Mrs. Palfrey but I did enjoy the movie...she is a wonderful actress.
Am thinking of you today and hope you find a way to enjoy it.
It's easy to leave a kind word on your blog my friend, you are such a kind person. I had been watching for a post from you and was so glad when I saw that you were back...I miss everyone in the village when they take a break...I know I am selfish as well...LOL
Love you......:-) Hugs

Hi Di, I got a chuckle when I realized our similarities, no you didn't say I dressed like an 80 year old lady, I did.....I do kind of dress like her so I am going to have to get a younger look. My friend and I totally loved the movie and I would like to add it to my collection as well.
I didn't post Sunday night Di as I was sleeping. The past 2 and a half weeks have been really draining with infection, antibiotics and all, it finally caught up with me and Sunday was a write off.....I slept almost the entire day with the exception of a bit of reading....I did need it though.
Luv ya.......:-) Hugs

Hello AC, I think we are in for the same type of weather here, it's strange as we never have much of a humidity factor in Alberta but the humidity is high now and is suppose to be this way until the weekend. I don't mind as it's our first real bite of summer.
Have a great day.......:-) Bernie

Marcy, welcome home, we missed you.
The doctors have told me I do have arthritis in my jaw and I am seeing my RA specialist Wednesday, (gosh that's tomorrow) and she is going to read my x-rays and give me some more info on it. I am happy to say I am feeling very well right now and that is what matters to me.
Mrs Palfrey is a good movie and you will need tissue (at least I did) at the end of it. Really wholesome for this time in our society.
Marcy if I took pictures of my jewelry....I'm sure you would all drag me off to the village funny farm, I have given some away to my nieces and friends but need to share much more of it....can never wear it all.
Hope Olivia's birthday party was fun for you all.......:-) Hugs

Hi Margie, your walks with your dog sounds wonderful.
I don't think I know of anyone who doesn't like turquoise, it is such a pretty stone. (I love coral too)
Yes, I have managed to eat some of the berries and they are delicious, I love them washed and out of the bowel.
Have a wonderful day Margie, I am so enjoying your poems.....:-) Hugs

Hello Gail, yes a male friend's company twice in a few days....LOL
I have known him a few years now and we are totally just friends. Both of us are widowed and enjoy our friendship....love being independent and on my own!!! Am not in high demand at all, too old for all that now.
I am happy my tooth has finally healed, it was a long process.
Have a great day my friend...Hugs

You can continue calling me Stillness (since I am still Rendezvous with Stillness) :D

You know here at home we've a saying that "Beauty lies in simplicity". And I know even if you were just to mix and match stuff, you will carry it off very gracefully and elegantly!

If someone is beautiful from within, it is BOUND to show on the face as well Bernie, and YOU are a beautiful person! Getting to know you everyday is a pleasure!

I think we had our last really warm night last night...the air here is definitely changing into fall weather. (Sigh). We have had a really cold summer here with only 5 or 8 days in the 80's...so yesterday was lovely!
I will be posting pix of the autumn colors before we know it!
So keep enjoying your summer there and your friends, movies and wine...sounds like a great evening to me!

Rebecca said...

Ummmmm, I'm with Gail - keeping count of your special times with that certain friend!

I'm going to be sure to look for Mrs. Palfrey. She keeps coming up. It definitely sounds like "my kind" of movie!

Glad your mouth is almost healed. Hope the jaw pain can be controlled & doesn't cause too much discomfort.

Bernie said...

Stillness, you do say the nicest things...luv you.
Thank you for the e-mail, so much appreciated my friend.
Have a great day and will let you know what the specialist says tomaorrow ok, not to worry.
......:-) Hugs

Bernie said...

Hi Joan, I think summer was short everywhere this year, sad really but I do love the Fall.
The way you word it my life sounds like the good life, well actually it is and I wouldn't dream of changing it with anyone especially not the wine...LOL.....:-) Hugs

Bernie said...

Hi Rebecca, you and Gail are funny, no I am not interested in changing my status at all, like being just who I am.
Everything is healing and have no pain in my jaw so am counting my blessings.
Have a great day my day.....Hugs

Barb said...

Hi Bernie - Since your friend lives in Sherwood, we might have to refer to him as Robin Hood! I will put this movie on my list, since both you & Di liked it. Congratulations on jewelry abstinence - you are a stronger woman than I!

Bernie said...

Hi Barb, am real proud of myself for not opening my purse for that turquoise ring....loved it.
Now if he looked like Robin Hood I would of changed my mind about just being friends....he is not the type to take from the poor to give to the rich, I think he takes from the rich and poor and helps himself....really watches his pennies and the stock market, can only take a little bit of him at a time and that is why I only see him once in a while. Seriously he is a nice man but he really holds on to his wallet and tightly.
Have a great day.....:-) Hugs
