Yesterday I received the Warm Hearts Award from Eileen of Umma's World and Jackie of Teacher's Pet. This award was created by Sandy of Beachgirl 77 in memory of her son Jonny. This award is passed on to those who are bolstering, uplifting, reassuring, soothing, calming, cheering, consoling and encouraging. Thank you Eileen and Jackie for passing this on to me, it is very special, especially as it was given to me on my son's birthday.
I would like to pass this on to all of you as you have been all this award represents to me. Please accept it with the gratitude I have for having all of you in my life.
I had a wonderful day today, I had moved my spa day from yesterday to today so this morning I was up early and then off to have my facial, manicure and pedicure. My fingers and toes look pretty and ready for the beach. My face, not so much....only so much that poor girl could do.
I have a friend who I only see a few times a year, anyway he called and invited me to dinner. It was nice to go out, the meal was lovely....I had salmon stuffed with crab dressing, wild rice and steamed asparagus, with a nice glass of white wine. Too full for desert but a cup of tea suited me just fine. We chatted for an hour or so before I came home. All in all it was a lovely evening.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers yesterday, it means so much too me. I always think I am prepared for those emotional days but sometimes the emotions just sneak up on me and take over.....As much as I try I never get use to it. With support from family and friends and tons of prayers I always make it through. Sometimes its good to let the tears flow, it lifts the heaviness from my chest and even the spirit feels refreshed.
Am off to read my favorite blogs.....Good Night and God Bless....:-) Hugs

I am sure you look good all over, even the face. For someone who is so beautiful inside, it just has to reflect on the outside as well :D
You're right Bernie. At times the only way of dealing with emotions is not avoiding them. They pass. Never feel you are alone. We are always there.
And thank you for passing that award to all of us :) Very kind of you. Sleep well and have a great day tomorrow :)
Thank you Stillness, you are too kind. The emotions did flow yesterday but I felt so much better today, lighter and refreshed, so maybe it was right to share how I felt as well as actually feel them. Am off to sleep soon,......:-) Hugs
I'm glad you got to have a "spa" day. One of these days, I want to do that, too. Would you believe I've NEVER had a professional pedicure or manicure?
Salmon is my favorite meal. Yours sounded delicious - and the company must have been special, too.
Re. tombstones. You would have enjoyed the place I was yesterday! Several markers were broken but the owner (a retired doctor) had carefully stacked their pieces in a loving way. I, too, enjoyed reading the stones, thinking how old the person was, seeing how "old" names are back in vogue, etc.
Have a WONDERFUL time at the beach. Soak in all the sights and sounds of God's beautiful creation.
Good morning Bernie...
Isn't the warm heart award beautiful...and so touching for you to receive it when you did...when I upload one to my blog it will represent your son also to me Bernie.
Just a few more days till your trip home...and it's on the beach...how nice for you...that is a far distance...I googled it to get an idea where you would be...
Alivia was here visiting for a few hours yesterday, she brought a movie, we read books, drew several drawings, and of course talked and talked and talked...
Enjoy your Sunday and take care Bernie!
Good Morning Bernie,
You definitely deserve that award as you have a very warm heart. I can really feel your anticipation about going home Bernie! Is it going to be a large family reunion or just a small visit?
Bernie,
Thank you for your sweet words. I am so sorry for your loss. I have not yet experienced Jonny's 1st birthday, or 1st year since his death. His accident happened 12-21-08...5 days after his 23rd birthday and 4 days before Christmas, his favorite holiday.
I would be honored if you followed my blog. I have made wonderful friends (Eileen, Jackie and Marcy) and now you.
Sandy

I agree with Stillness, you are very beautiful, Bernie, both inside and out.
I'm glad you had a nice dinner with your friend and that you had a nice spa day.
And I think it's good to cry too, no sense in holding your emotions in all the time, to me, that's like denying them. If you don't face them you can't deal with them.
And I think blogging is good for the soul too. At least for me, it's where I bare my soul, it's an outlet for all the emotions that I do hold in sometimes, and then in a torrent it flows onto all of you good people, who so kindly listen, and take to heart my feelings and give me much needed feedback.
I can't tell you what you've done for me, Bernie, your kindness and your wisdom, and just reading your life has done me a world of good.
God Bless you,
Eileen
Bernie, I thought of you all day yesterday; I hope that you have a good day today. Reach out and take the hugs and smiles and love that comes with this post. You have so much to share. I know....because you have shared it with me through your blog. You have touched many lives. Embrace the hug....
Smiles,
Jackie
Hi Bernie-
I feel the emotion in your lovely post as you moved through your day with a heavy heart. I am sure your feet and hands are sparkling and that your facial brightened your allure.
Every year on my sister's son's birthday who died I bring her sunflowers - big bold and bright sunflowers. They were Clayton's favorite flower. :-) And on Mother's Day I bring her three sun flowers, one for each of her threee sons.
Your dinner sounded delicious and lovely. :-) I love salmon and asparagus and I really enjoy a glass of wine.
And it was very kind of you to pass the award out to all your readers and friends here.
Love to you
Gail

Hi Bernie,
Congratulations on your awards, and I am glad you had someone to spend the evening with. It is so nice to get pampered, and I bet you are getting really excited about your vacation. Hope you have a wonderful day. (((HUGS)))T
Hi Rebecca, I noticed your comment posted twice, so I deleted one of them ok.
My dad and I used to walk through cementary's and read the names and dates. I know its sounds morbid to some but we both enjoyed it.
I went to early Mass this morning, and it is a lovely day here, sunny and warm. I love it.
Have a wonderful day...:-) Hugs
Good Morning Wanda, you are a dear and special friend, thank you.

My son was 26 years 4 months when he passed, it is something that has no closure only acceptance. Its knowing he is with his dad that brings me peace....I am happy to follow your blog, you are a kindred spirit my friend.
Have a great day....:-) Hugs
Eileen, you are so very sweet. I am so glad to have met you and love reading about your family. You are a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and now a wonderful blogger friend. We are all blessed to have met you.
Have a great day.....:-) Hugs
Sometimes old friends call us just when we need them most.
I am so glad you got to go out for a lovely meal and some chatting!
Be careful on your trip with those cute tootsies!
Hi Joan, you know when an old friend calls its so nice and when they call after a stressful day ...I call them angels. I had a wonderful dinner and hey I had my toes painted for a reason....LOL
Have a great day.....:-) Hugs
Hi Bernie,
Sounds as though you're all spiffed up for your journey. Whenever I have a facial, I pretend I look younger (if only for an hour or so). It feels great, anyhow!
I was sorry to read of the loss of your son. I really cannot imagine your pain. We are bound to Family and loved ones, even if they are missing from our lives.
Take Care of yourself!
Hi Barb, I really enjoy my spa days, and I can pretend I look younger until I look in the mirror.
Loosing Scotty was devastating, no words to describe it really and he will be a part of me forever. I usually remember him with smiles but there are days which really tug at my heart and I miss him so much....thankfully my life is mostly happy, I am so blessed.
Take care my friend....:-) Hugs
