Winter Has Arrived

Hello my friends......is everyone full of turkey? Well it is time to prepare for Christmas and I still haven't decided if I am going to decorate or not.....oh what to do?

In Canada we don't have the Super Bowl we have the Grey Cup....the game was yesterday. I was cheering for a team that was losing badly at half time but came back in the second half of the game.....it came down to the last play of the game and they needed a field goal to win it....he kicked and missed it... but wait there are flags all over the field and he got to kick again. No time left on the clock, he kicked it dead center through the goal post and anyone living within 40 miles of me must of heard me cheering.....my team won...28 - 27....WOW what a game, one of the best I have ever watched.

I awoke through the night with a few aches and pains and knew we were in for some bad weather.....I got up early, showered had breakfast and headed out to do my errands "just in case" I had to go to the bank, drugstore and mail. Sure enough by 2 o'clock the snow was falling and has been falling off and on ever since....and it is so cold outside, -12C but with the wind-chill I feel it's much colder.

I had a happy day today, my blogger friends are wonderful....a beautiful picture from Joan of The Retirement Chronicles, a lovely card/note from Diana of Welcome to my World and A/C who just happened to find my favorite Carpenter tape on a CD and I have already ordered it....thank you my friends, I so appreciate all of you.

My friend Terry called me this afternoon, her son had given her a Sirius/XM radio last year for Christmas which she never uses in her home and she has one already in her new car so she mailed it to me today.......I had just decided to get one. Her husband had to change the registration over from his name to my name but hopefully within the week I will be hooked up to listen to some favorite talk show host and music. Ahhhhhhh life is good.

I have my class tomorrow and am going to ask you all to pray for Greg, he is our terminal patient and is not doing so well right now. His wife called tonight to say they wouldn't be able to make it tomorrow, he has a bad cold and fever.

Good Night my friends and God Bless.......many, many hugs:-)

Hello dear Bernie, so you have snow now...well, you must snuggle up and stay warm.

Prayer for Greg...sad news that he has a setback! Good news, though, about your teams very exciting, NARROW win.

Stay warm!

Wishing for snow [not a blizzard or 18 inches], but just enough to add to the season. Have a grand day and enjoy the "white stuff," dear friend! Cathy

Hello sweet Bernie...
Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my Sweet Heidi Girl and myself. She is a jewel isn't she? I only have the one daughter and I never take a day for granted with her. We have a lot of fun blogging together. Some of the same people, some different, but we have fun. Sharing ideas, crafting, shopping, whatever we are doing, we are having fun.

I am thrilled that you are following both of us. Stop back by anytime. I so love the company.

Country hugs...Sherry

Bernie...You had me on pins and needles as if I was watching the game...wondering....would your team pull it off in the end...?
A missed field goal! Oh no!..but then...flags. And then,...victorious field goal at the last moment. That must have been a nail biter. That's the kind of game I really like to watch.
I'm envious of the snow. I can only imagine....sigh. I know it's beautiful. Continue to take care of you. Stay well, my friend...taking very good care of yourself.
I will say a prayer for Greg. A cold and fever at this time is not good...and he will have my prayers.
Until later, I send you a warm smile.
Hugs from Jackie

Brrrrrr...we're in for some really cold weather here in Georgia too. There was frost outside this morning and they say it will be in the 20s and 30s by the end of this week!!!

It is so heart warming when the 'underdog' team comes forward and wins like that! So that screeching I heard was not an owl, but you all the way from Canada, Bernie???

Will be praying for Greg and his family.

Please drive cautiously and make sure your Guardian Angel is on duty.

blessings and hugs,

marcy

Good morning Bernie, I go through spells where I think of decorating less, but usually it gradually all ends put up each year, except for a huge star that once went on the peak of the roof.
I know you were discussing Sirius Radio with Di, but how lucky to receive one from Terry.
Winter is headed our way Thursday with below feezing temps and a little snow maybe. White Christmases is the norm for us, so I hope for that this year too!
Have a good day with your patients Bernie and am sorry to hear of Greg's condition.
Enjoy the snow...but stay warm and comfy too!
Love,
Wanda

Hi Bernie,
You know that I will include Greg in my prayers. My prayer list seems to be growing again lately. I found out that one of our long time church members passed away yesterday. He was a very sweet man.
So sorry to hear that your winter has arrived. We are supposed to get "Flurries" Thursday morning. This doesn't surprise me as I clean on Thursdays and the weather is always crappy when I go!
So glad that you are getting the sirius. Jake told me to tell you that you can also get all of the sports stations on it too. I think they have three Christmas stations right now, I like channel 3 the best. Also Jake is addicted to the old time radio show station. They play all of the old radio shows and commercials. Thats what he listens to in the truck! Stay nice and cozy Bernie and remember my motto " Nap, Nap, Nap !"
Love Di

That game sounds VERY exciting! Thrilled that "your team" won, Bernie. I'm glad you found a source for your Carpenter music, too. I keep playing the one I downloaded on Playlist for my blog. It is SO beautiful.

A few of us were comparing our aches and pains at church - assuring each other that the weather was changing. (I had just remarked a day or two before how good I was getting along w/o joint pain. Then this. And thank God it is only "this"!)

Hope your day turns out pleasantly and that you can keep warm.

Hi Bernie!

Hope you are keeping warm! If you do not have to venture out, stay indoors where it is cozy!

Thank you for your posts on my blog. I haven't posted much lately due to illnesses in the family... but am slowly getting back to it.

Take care!

Yes, Bernie, I will keep Greg, his family and you and your good work in my prayers. So many sad situations. It's so good you do your part to alleviate some.

I'm glad your team won! And in such a nail-biter game! 'So glad you got to feel 'the thrill of victory' and not 'the agony of defeat'!

And I'm glad you got your errands done, and that you are surrounded by good and loving people. There's nothing better in life.
May God continue to Bless you, Bernie, as He Blesses us with your presence in our lives!
Love to you, Eileen

Oh A/C I had a chuckle over the AC bit, I thought he really handled the pressure well especially the last 3 plays.....what a squeaker and boy did I love the outcome.

I am so looking forward to the CD, I don't know why I didn't find it as you did, I have been checking in music stores for years.....:-)Hugs

Eileen, thank you for your kind words....I only wish I could do more to help those in need. I am blessed to have people I love around me at all times so it makes it very easy for me to reach out and help others, I receive so much more than I give....so glad you are in my life.....:-) Hugs

Hi Marcy, oh I almost feel guilty over keeping my Guardian Angel so busy...in fact I am looking around my room now and I have an angel in every corner watching me play on my computer....I am blessed my friend.
Yup, that was me cheering all the way from Alberta, Canada...it was such a thrilling finish.
Be well my friend and I do hope all has settled down on the home front for you......:-)Hugs

Oh Wanda, I had an early appointment this morning and when I was putting some things in my car I found I card/letter I had thought I mailed to you, it had fallen down between my front seat and the passenger door (which I seldom use)...I feel terrible as I wondered why you hadn't mentioned receiving it....I will keep it for next Thanksgiving...LOL and try again for Christmas.
I am well my friend and will let you know how Greg is doing when I learn more of his health. So sad isn't it, especially at this time of year.
I am really excited about the radio, Terry is sweet, she had thought about it when she was here but of course wanted to talk about it with her husband before she told me....another of my many blessings.
Have a wonderful day, luv ya and big hugs to Alivia....:-)

Bernie said...

Hi Di, so sorry to hear of your church friend's passing and thank you for your prayers.....my prayer list is growing as well, so sad isn't it.
I am very excited about the radio, I love a radio as I only watch sports and news really on TV except I love TV on Thursday nights.
Di I love snow, I think it's beautiful, I just don't like driving in it. I had to chuckle over your remark about crappy weather when you go to work...I had an early appointment this morning and it was so cold and dark when I left the house but the snow is so pretty....the cold is so hard on the arthritis but I am home now and it is warm inside. Have a great day.....:-) Hugs

Greg is on the prayer list. Nice about the gift from your friend. We had a ballgame last night too and our team won, but it was so far apart was not too exciting. Our snow comes and goes, spits and sparkles but one day it will hit us hard. Bless you for your gift of serving others.

I am suffering today due to the frigid cold weather....just came in and the first thing I did was light the fireplace....then took half an hour to put all my shopping and class books away. I quit feeling sorry for myself when saw the pain my patients were in, oh I have it good compared to some of them......:-) Hugs

You are right, bernie. Life is very good when you have kind, wonderful friends who think of you and alway know when you are down. I have put off decorating thisyear too. My youngest always did so much of it when she was home but now she is in North Carolina with the little one. I will probably do it next weekend.

I cheer for my football team but they are not doing well at all this year.

I will put in good word for your friends the next time I pray, Bernie. Prayer works wonders.

HAPPY ♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸❤¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪ HAPPY BIRTHDAY for each day of this added year.

This has been a most busy and blessed season of Thanksgiving for me.

I enjoyed your account of that exciting WIN. With such a tight time frame and close score - that certainly was a WOW moment - the team must have known you were cheering for them. More CHEERS!

Greg and your heartfelt support will be in my prayers.

Warm hugs to you dear Bernie.

Hello, dearest Bernie...I hope you are able to enjoy the snow from inside with a hot cup of tea and a beautiful fire blazing in a fireplace...I still decorate for Christmas as my son still lives at home...however, my mom used to put up a prelit/predecorated 14-inch table top tree, and a wreath...a few silk poinsettias, and it was done! Sounds perfect to me! ;-) Your game sounds absolutely thrilling!!! Such a fantastic way to spend the afternoon...

I will pray for Greg!!! You are such a wonderful friend to so many, Bernie...sending you much love...and wishes for some warm weather...soon :-) Love you! Janine XOXO

Hi Bernie,
Glad you got all of your errands done before the snow. We used to get snow by early December but it seems our snow has moved it arrival time to late December early January now. I hate going out in it but I love the way it beautifies the landscape!
That must have been some game...I was on the edge of my seat just reading about it
I'm saying an extra prayer for Greg and his family. My thoughts are with them.
Hope you have a blessed - and warm - day.
Huggz,
Quieten
