So Much to Do....So Little Time

Hello my friends, sorry I have not posted for a few days but I have just been so busy.....just doing things that needed to be done.

Our weather has been lovely.....sunny and cool, finally a true beautiful Fall. I love this weather as Fall is my favorite season.

Yesterday was a full day, I had my course yesterday and thankfully all the patients took their injections for the H1N1....we had 5 more deaths just last week. This flu is frightening. My friend Terry is just getting over it, thankfully she only had a mild form of it but it still took her a few days to get back on her feet. Terry has been blessed with such good health that it worried me when she was ill, she is coming in on Friday for the weekend. Our patients were so good yesterday, they co-operated with us and supported each other....I love it when they are so receptive and allow us to help them with a plan that will make their life the best it possibly can be....I love seeing the hope in their eyes and the appreciation in their hearts. So far no anger or bitterness from anyone.

Last night I went to a Purse Party, oh what fun. My friend Pat, you know the lady I bought my condo from over 10 years ago well she hosted the party and there were 25 ladies there, some I knew some I didn't but we all laughed so hard and helped each other choose purses, scarves and gloves. It was so funny as someone would like something someone else had picked out and they would follow them around to see if they were really going to buy it or put it down where it would be immediately snapped up. Pat had the most beautifully arranged buffet table. The food was delicious, and oh the ladies were great, I am going to another one on Dec.13th, not to purchase but to enjoy the ladies company again.

I did buy a new purse and a really pretty butterfly purse charm. I know I don't need another purse but this one is so cute. It doesn't show in the picture but the top part by the zipper has a row of leather roses......I found it different than anything I have, just couldn't resist.

I am going to the Legion this morning to show my love and respect for our fallen soldiers and to the men and women who are serving our country today. My late husband served in the Air Force for 25 years, he loved the military life and I was blessed to have shared this time with him. I will gladly stand with others in a moment of silence for all those who have given so much for all our freedom...Lest we forget...

Have a wonderful day my friends, God Bless.......:-) Hugs

"So much to do...so little time". Ask me! I could write reams on it!

A purse party is a unique concept. Never heard of it before! But it sounds like such of fun way of getting together. Glad you enjoyed your time there. The purse you got for yourself is very pretty :-)

Hats off to all the men and women who serve in the Army. Giving up your life for your country is no mean feat! It's sad that their sacrifice is promptly forgotten. There are many we know of, who laid their lives down, but innumerable others, who we don't know of. May God make their lives a wee bit easier!

Hi Bernie, Glad you were just busy with Life and not ill! It's funny, but even in Blogland, we notice if someone isn't posting as they usually do and wonder, "What's up?" I like your little butterfly charm. My friend, Mary, just sent me a little leather butterfly coin purse with a tiny strap that I can use to carry keys and a bit of money when I'm running. She knows I like butterflies and thought of me when she saw it. Glad your class is going well - that must give you and all involved a boost!

A purse party, I never heard of that before. I would love to go to one of those since I do love purses. You did get a very pretty purse.
Glad to hear that all is going well for you.
Take care.

Oh Bernie love your purse. I know the roses must be something special. Glad your course is moving along good. My appreciation to your husband's service to world peace. Today is another key day in Washington DC as they decide what to do soldier wise. Blessings

Haven't heard of a Purse Party before, but I can well imagine the fun and laughter going on.

Bernie, it's always lovely to find your comments at my place --- it's a nice feeling to know you're not that far away!

Hope you're enjoying the beauty of this warm day!

Bernie, thank you for your visit to my Poet Tree blog! I did not know your husband was in the service. I am sorry that he is gone and I'm deeply touched that my poem brought back fond memories of him. My son and my father-in-law are also vets and I just posted a tribute to them and all Vets on Sycamore Canyon.

Oh, Bernie, such a fitting way to pay tribute to Veteran's.
It's heartbreaking really to think of how dear the cost of war is. And humbling to think of the sacrifices made for us.

I'm glad that 'busy' is what's been keeping you away, I get nervous when someone stops posting as they normally do. I thought maybe it was Blogger acting up again.

The purse party sounds like such fun! And your new purse reminds me of one I have, and it has a few charms dangling off of it, it's like a charm bracelet for a pocketbook!

I'm glad the group is working nicely together too!
Take care, Bernie!
Good to hear from you!
Love to you!, Eileen

I'm kind of hoping the purse party stays a Canadian secret! Alas, there are so many parties for so many products that I don't really need. And I always feel if invited I really ought to attend....and if I attend I really ought to buy....and (you can see where this ends for me who has little extra $$$ to be spending).....

It DOES sound like a fun evening with friends for you, and I'm happy for the Canadian purse party :)

Hi Bernie, the purse party sounds like fun, I have not heard of them before, but it is a good idea. Glad your friend is on the mend. They showed the legion on the news tonight, we should remember them all year, but today is a special day. Big
hugs to you today. Bernie you are a special lady!

Hi Eileen, I know I haven't been posting every day but I am always doing something....I spend almost 2 hours at day on my computer so I am trying to at least keep it to that.....it takes me so long to visit blogs and leave comments which I love to do.....
The purse party was fun...something different and I met many ladies I didn't know, I always enjoy meeting people....
I spent some time with the vets today and enjoyed their company very much.....:-0 Hugs

Hi Bernie..
Bless you for your allegiance to our veterans...I pause to give thanks for the service your departed husband provided. What a tremendous man he must have been. Twenty-five years in the Air Force....that's a long time, Bernie. Thank you, too, as you stood by and with him. I love you, my friend.
P.S. my word verification is 'roses'...how fitting.
I wish I could send some to you...
Jackie

A purse party is new to me too Bernie, I can almost make out the roses across the top, I like the type of handles and the fact it's not too large of a purse. You picked a good one.

I didn't know your husband had been in the Air Force...so was Richard, but only 4 years. Another thing we have in common.

I am so late commenting...we have been gone most of the day looking at refrigerators, I love the one we have, but it's been giving us problems lately! After going on line, visiting 4 stores and looking at "waaaay" too many models, we finally picked a Samsung. It was 20% off to start and then an extra 10% off for being a veteran. I didn't realize how hard choosing would be!

It's good to hear how smooth things are going with the group you're helping and about your visit to the Legion. Enjoy the rest of your week Bernie.

Luv and Smiles,
Wanda

Hi Jackie, it is very easy to support the vets and honor our soldiers....Edmonton lost 2 soldiers just last week in Afganistan and they were so very young, one of their wives just had a new baby....so sad. I love the soldiers but hate the wars.
Take care my friend....:-) Hugs

Hello Wanda, I always look forward to your comments....I spent most of my day with the vets.
Our course is going good so far and you know how much I enjoy being with these patients.
Your shopping for a fridge sounds exhausting but I am so glad you finally found one that suits you and the pocket book....I think I may have to get a new dishwasher as it just started leaking, if it's just a seal I'll have it fixed but if it's any more than that I will have to replace it.
The purse party was fun and I do like the little purse I got as it's different....I really didn't need another purse but I couldn't say no.....meeting the girls for lunch tomorrow and Terry is arriving on Friday so it has been a busy week for me and I am a bit tired tonight....Luv ya and big hugs to Alivia......:-)

Love the purse..so cute!
We have a lot in common, Bernie! My dad was a lifer in the U.S.Air Force so I grew up in the military environment.
And,there was a U.S. AF Base in Armstrong, Canada where we lived for a year (it is in Ontario)!!
The family gives up a lot to move around with their military family member, but you gain a worldwide view of the world that cannot be replaced.

Joan what you say is so true as we all need "roots" but in our life we had to go where my husband was posted, he loved the military and I loved being with him so to me there was no other choice, others may see it differently but I wouldn't change a second of my life with him. Love you my friend, and always love your post..:-) hugs

And into your new purse...

The treasures of time
The gems of gratitude
Golden tokens of love
And faith to share
Blessings and indeed
Priceless coins of care...

APOGEE Poet at your pleasure!!
