It's Been So Long

Hello my friends, I purposely meant to take a break but I honestly didn't mean to be gone so long. I have tried to visit your blogs but life got in the way. I have missed you and often wondered how everyone has been doing. Thankfully I was able to keep up a bit on Facebook.

So much has happened I couldn't possibly cover it all. Some of it yucky but most of it good. I am happy and healthy and very thankful for every moment.

We went from Winter right to Summer, no Spring in my neighbourhood. The past week and a half has been beautiful and oh to see the grass turning green, the buds on the trees and feeling the warm breeze has lifted every one's spirits. We were all burnt out as our Winter was very long this year. They say we are in for a very hot summer and I am hoping they are right about that.

When I woke up this morning and turned on the shower the water was ice cold. Yesterday I had my furnace cleaned and they forgot to light the pilot light in my water tank. One of my friend's granddaughter was here after school. She had track and field yesterday then last night she was in a play with her youth group at church so rather than take the school bus home she came here for her shower and snack before I drove her to church. She didn't mention the water was cold but I thought it didn't take her very long to shower and change. Now I know why. Poor kid, bet she won't want to shower here again.

I have finished my spring housecleaning, changed from winter linens to summer linens and the bedrooms look so bright and fresh. I was able to pack six bags of clothes for those in need. No one should have as many clothes or jewelry as I do. Some outfits still had price tags on them and a lot of things I had forgotten I had. That happens sometimes when we go through grief or trying times. It looks like my drug of choice was shopping. Oh well it is all sorted now and I love opening the closet and dresser drawers. So nice to see what is actually in there.....

I am having some renovations done to my condo/townhouse; 2 bathroom vanities, 2 sinks, 1 soaker tub, and a one piece surround for the tub wall. When this is finished I am going to have downstairs painted and hopefully my nephew will repair the deck. These renovations will be all I do before I sell and move back to New Brunswick next summer. I am looking forward to having it all done. I am expecting a cousin and my brother and his family this summer for a visit. I also would like to go home in August, we'll see.

I think I told you I joined Weight Watchers on Jan 10th,  Well it has been slow but I have lost 18 and 1/2 pounds. I am trying to loose 10 more. I feel so much better with the weight off, my clothes fit better (even though I had most sizes) but even better than that my arthritis isn't as painful. Taking the weight off has helped my joints, only wish it would take away all the pain.

I had a wonderful Easter and Mother's Day and sincerely hope you all did as well. I am trying to make it around to all your blogs to catch up. Wishing you all a great weekend.....sending you all big hugs:-)

So pleased that you are back on the scene again. I had the sneaky feeling that you wouldn't come back.
The renovations sound great.... but then you're going to leave it all!
Hope all goes well.

Hi Bernie! It's so good to hear from you and I'm glad to hear that you are doing well! Congratulations on the weight loss! I'm trying to lose too but not doing nearly so well as you :)
We have had a very cold Spring so far this year except for a few days here and there. This week has been pretty nice though.

Cold showers - yuck! Sending you a warm hug :)

So lovely to see you here and get caught up with you! Congrats on your weight loss - that's always such a struggle! I figured we would skip most of spring and head straight for summer. Not sure I like all these days of WIND!!! I'd like a warm summer - you can keep the heat, LOL!
All the best in all your preparations for your big move! Keep in touch! Blessings for a lovely week-end!

It's so good to have you back in Blggerville. Your life sounds as sorted out as your closet :)

So cute about your little friend taking a cold shower...

Congratulations on the weight loss. I can imagine how good that must feel and need to get some pounds off (again) myself.

We just got back from a graduation party. My tummy's full of good party food. Now to relax and finish my book.

Nice to see you back Bernie! Congratulations on the positive changes you've made - wow - that's a great weight loss and I know that though your smile will be the same - you'll be feeling that much better. Sorry to hear that you're moving but I really can't blame you after our horrible winter. Enjoy the summer season - it will wbe so much better once the winds stop blowing!

Dear Bernie,
So nice to have a post from you again.
It's makes me happy to know you are happy and healthy and very thankful for every moment!
You have a grateful heart!

And you are a busy lady with all that you are doing!
Isn't it great to clean out our closets?
I did the same a few weeks ago and gave soooo much to a women's shelter.
I have way too much stuff and it was good to give it to women who really needed what I did not!

You are doing so much in your place before you move...it will be all ready for the big day when you sell.

Got your FB message an will try tomorrrow to get you!
I'm not on FB much these days.
I limit my time on the net as much as possible..
Keep well, my friend!

Hugs
Margie

Welcome back! We all need to take blogging breaks now and then, but I've seen you around the neighborhood leaving messages here and there. Glad to hear about your weight loss and subsequent relief of your arthritis. I have lost twelve and hope I can keep those pounds off! :-)

"before I sell and move back to New Brunswick next summer."

Wow, that is quite a distance from your present location. Tell us more about that.

How lovely to "hear" your voice again, Bernie. Know how much I've missed you. And, I'm so glad warm weather has come to your home. Being one who grew up in cold weather and is now a warm weather fan, I can only send warmth your way. Always.

It's good that you posted again, Bernie. Congratulations on the weight loss and getting all your things organized for the summer and the sale of your home. I bet you can't wait to move. It will be a big change.

I'm not on Facebook anymore so I can't keep track of you there. Thanks for coming by and commenting on my posts. You're a sweetheart.

How wonderful to see your appearance on my blog list. I've been copying you lately, Bernie, in the areas of weight loss, associated arthritis relief, and removal of excess clothing from the wardrobe. Charities have benefited from the clearout. Hugs from me.

If cold showers cause people to blog, I know a few others who could use one -- including me on occasion.

Bernie, what a wonderful post! I read it, and then I re-read it. It made me feel good. You are so right about the long winter! Like you, I think that the gift the winter gave us was a new appreciation for Spring!

Congratulations on your weight loss! That is wonderful. As you said, you feel better all over when your body weight is what it should be. Losing weight is not easy, but you are clearly working hard at it.

I am not sure I knew that you were planning a move back to New Brunswick. For sure we need to get together for lunch or dinner SOON!

Love, hugs and prayers to you lovely Bernie! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

HI BERNIE
so good to see you post again. I love reading about your gracious and humble life. Bolg-land has changed, for sure. Not many folks are commenting any more - some of my active followers have slowed down.
Again, so nice to see you.
Love Gail
peace......

That last comment was really from me, Bernie. I was trying to fix my mom's blog for her (got caught in the blogger mess.)

So nice to hear from you, Bernie, and to catch up on what's been going on in your life.
I'm happy for all the 'good busy' you've had going on but sad to hear that there was some 'not so good' that you've had to deal with.

I'm slowing down on the posting myself for awhile, I have lots going on here too. Sometimes so much happens and I haven't blogged about any of it, and then it just feels like too much to explain.
I haven't been on Facebook much either, but I try to check in there once in awhile, and I'm trying to visit blogs, but it seems like so many bloggers aren't posting anymore either.
I think of you often, and it's good to hear from you once in awhile.
Stay well.
Love and Prayers,
Eileen

HooRay! So glad to see you are back and that you are well. I was worried about you. Congrats on the continued weight loss. Keep going, lady - you're doing great! Good luck with the renovations and with the move.
It sounds like your life has calmed down a wee bit and you are happier. You've been through so much..it's nice to "hear" a lilt in your "voice."
Huggz :-)

Hi Bernie,
It's so good to hear about what you've been up to. The weight loss is something to be proud of, congratulations!! I went through my clothes yesterday too. I didn't have too many to give away, but enough to where my closet is much more manageable again!
I haven't been around much either. Just been too busy with life!! I am looking forward to seeing flowers on your deck! Love You, Di ♥
