Lazy Days of Summer

Hello my friends, I am happy to say we are now enjoying a warm and sunny summer in Alberta. Our days have been warm and sunny.....our evenings filled with thunder/lightening and lots of rain. Everything is growing so quickly, my blossoms smell so nice and my hanging baskets have really grown in just a week and a half. Yesterday my friend and I went for a walk throughout my neighbourhood and just enjoyed every one's front lawns and flowers.

On the weekend we went for a drive to Rocky Mountain House. It was lovely as I love driving on Alberta's old country roads. The fields were filled with colorful crops and it was a bit strange to see horses and cows out to pasture standing next to an oil well. We didn't have a picnic but ate at a lovely restaurant. As I was enjoying the old country barn scenes I realized I should of brought my camera with me...

Fallon is arriving tomorrow and I am all ready for her...I.think. I have booked our appointments and have checked out the entertainment happening right now at West Edmonton Mall. I was able to make an appointment for her hair cut, mine will wait until next Wednesday. We will have our Spa Day together though......will be fun. My nephew and his wife are going through a divorce right now.....it is very sad really and I don't know why but the children always find a way to blame themselves. All we can do is love them through the chaos. I will miss Fallon but it is the right thing for her to spend the summer with her grandparents and cousins. She will have fun!

Tomorrow morning I am meeting a patient of Dr. John's for coffee. He called me a few hours ago, I pray I will have the right words to encourage her through her journey ahead as she has just been diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer......honestly if I could have only one wish in this world it would be a cure for this horrid disease.

It is beginning to storm again, I hear the thunder and see the lightening and oh my here comes the rain.

Have a great week everyone, sending you all many, many hugs......:-)

AC has been to Rocky Mountain House. Ten years ago, we were visiting friends in Lacombe, but they were working during the day, so we drove to RMH. Frankly I can't remember anything about it except for the fact we were there.

Your hanging basket is lovely, Bernie...so large too! I bet the bush has a great scent also.

Remember your camera next time on your outings in the country. Maybe I will do the same.

Enjoy your spa day and other fun happenings with Fallon...Amanda leaves Friday! You and I both have someone we'll miss most of the summer!

I'm sure you will find words to comfort the patient, Bernie. Will be thinking of you!

Hi Bernie! I hope you have a wonderful time with Fallon. So sorry to hear of your nephew's troubles. It is always so hard on the children.

It is quite chilly in Ontario. We have had loads of rain, too! I hope the summer warms up before it turns into Fall.

Take care!

Wanda, I can't get over how fast my flowers are growing, the bush smells wonderful. I am surprised it is still full of blooms with all the evening storms.
I am so looking forward to Fallon, she is so cute. Amanda is so young to be going to Ireland (the country I love so much) hopefully she will not get too lonesome.
I have just found a book for the lady I am meeting in the morning, I think it will help her. Big hugs to Alivia.......:-)

Brian, thank you. Fallon cracks me up, we always have fun. I hope I can help this lady, I will try. Sometimes it is easier for them to talk to a stranger who has been through the same things, then their own family.....:-) Hugs

warm and sunny days and thunder and lightening at night. oh, i miss summer like that. here in southern california, we just get the sunny and hot days.

positive energy to the patient you are meeting with. everyone knows someone who has had this disease tearing through the population. yes, a cure, or a decent investigation and vetting as to what in our world is creating it.

lovely photo the flowers up top.

Fallon is such a beautiful name. I hope you have a great time together.

And you're right, it's a terrible disease. Sending you prayers and strength for your kindness in helping others. That's such a lovely gift to give.

Can't wait to hear about your spa day when it occurs...she is so lucky to have you pampering her!
You will find the exact right words to tell your new patient with breast cancer...you have helped many people through this journey and can offer her hope and a connection with those that have walked this road before her. If any kind of terrible thing like that was diagnosed for me, I would RUN (not walk, but RUN) to your arms and ears to help me through it. You are an earth angel, Bernie...never forget that.

Your flowers are so beautiful and bountiful. Somehow, Bernie, I know that the words of comfort will come at the right time. You are very wise and compassionate, and your friends will benefit from your kindnesses. So sorry about the lady with the cancer, as well as the children of divorce. Will be praying for you all.

Now, if you were in the South, you'd be feeling sticky icky outside. June has felt like August all month! It has been so hot, and it is so humid here. I have to water my flowers every other day, minimum, and Lee cuts the grass twice a week!! I'll send you some photos soon!

Blessings,
Abbey♥

You know Bernie, sometimes it is good to see photos of places you go and what you see, but the great way you write and describe things, it is great to see it in my mind as I read your words. I really like your hanging basket of flowers.

Your trip sounds like it was wonderful, and I'm glad you are getting to spend some more time with Fallon before she has to leave.

We had a hot spell here for awhile but the past few days have been beautiful.
I've been busy with the grandkids and relatives (in between naps!), and feeling somewhat better.
I'm glad it's Summer and Jayden is home from school, I am enjoying a 'lazy' Summer!
Enjoy your visit with Fallon!
Love to you,
