To My Blogger Friends

Hello my friends,

It has been just over a year since I began blogging. I backed into it really. One day when opening up Google I saw the word blog and clicked on it just to see what it was about and that was how I began my relationship with all of you. I have grown to love blogging, you all have expanded my world by making me part of your blogging lives.

During this past year we have shared good times and sad times, weddings, death of loved ones, the birth of new babies, purchase of new vehicles, all things that happen in our every day lives. Some of my friends have been very ill and now are feeling better some are still very ill. I prayed and continue to pray for all of you as you have for me.

In the beginning there was a small group of us ladies who came together, supported each other and taught each other how to post pictures, add a link or a signature to our post. We all were new at this and we had fun watching each other grow into our own. We became known as the Village, I do believe it was Terri who named us. Well now I am missing my village friends.......they still have their blogs but don't post as often. They are very loyal though and always comment and support those of us who are still here on a regular basis. I know we all have busy lives, other commitments and are involved in other activities but it doesn't keep me from missing those days of old as we struggled to master the art of blogging.....in fact I'm still not sure I have mastered it but I know I am still enjoying it very much. We all have made new friends and enjoy many other blogs as we found our niche into this arena. Some are drawn to nature, decorating, politics, religion and other interest.......and this is fine as I know the golden thread that has weaved us together is strong and will always keep us bonded in a special way. Somehow I feel we will always be friends and continue to keep in touch. I know I will as all of my blogger friends have become so very important to me. Some I feel very close too and I care for them as I do my family. I am happy to say we keep in touch through Facebook and e-mails, letters, cards even telephone calls.

I find myself checking to see what kind of weather you are having and if one has a doctor's appointment I say a prayer that the roads are good and you will be safe, as I wait to hear the results of your appointments. You have made me laugh so hard at times the tears have rolled down my cheeks and I have spilled my coffee as I read some of your expressions, when you were hurting or worried I found myself holding back tears and not always successful as I prayed all would work out for you. Oh yes you all have become very special to me.....

I want to thank each of you for making my blogging experience a positive one, I thank each of you for your comments, I love them and I love knowing you remember me in your prayers.....believe me I need them.

Blogging has opened a whole new world for me and it has been a wonderful experience. It is because of you that I have grown to love blogging, and I thank all of you for your kindness, honesty and friendship. I feel so blessed to have all of you in my life, my life has been so enriched because each of you has added to it.

God Bless each of you..........and many, many hugs :-)

I'm glad you are part of my world Bernie. This Villager has noticed a slow down too..I think it's this cold winter that may be playing a part, maybe this spring things will get back to near normal for us. I think you know how much I appreciate blogging with you, Bernie...never dreamed I would find such an endearing friend.

I began blogging about 18 months ago and A.C was my first Blogging friend. I learned much from him as I read Raindrops. I am forever grateful to him for his guidance in the blogging world at times. I did not get to blog for awhile and lost some blogging friends along the way but he has stuck with me.

I do remember you in my prayers and think of you often. You have become a good on line friend. God bless you.

I was walking right by so many beautiful opportunities, and you truly opened my eyes. Thank you sweet Bernie.

How fun to be so close to the Olympics. I am thankful for the TV, because that is as close as I will ever get.

Good Morning Bernie,
I love every word that you said. You have expressed exactly how I feel about blogging. I sometimes feel guilty when I don't! I also feel blessed to have met so many wonderful men and women through blogging. I think the slow down is because of the weather sometimes. It just is a time of year when we all long for sun and warmth. You would think this would make us want to post more but there isn't much going on when we're stuck inside. I think with the coming of spring and things blooming, we will see more posting!
Love You Bernie, Di

Hoping this is not YOUR "blogging swan song"! I, too, have noticed the slowdown. I guess I'm still in the "honeymoon" period, but the friendships and perspectives I have gained and am enjoying will keep me "honeymooning" for some time, God willing.

You've summed up some of the highs and lows and described the bond that blogging creates SO well.

Thankful for your friendship and prayers, and looking forward to many moons together.

I think you will find that your circle will change a lot over time. I don't think I have any leftovers from the early days. But I'm a guy and sort of hang around the fringes of all of the ladies groups, so perhaps my experience won't be yours.

Bernie, such beautiful thoughts! I think Wanda and Diana are right about the slow-down, I know for me I feel like my life is so boring right now (not that it was ever all that interesting!), but we really don't do much of anything anymore, trying to save money so then we don't go anywhere (Ray and I don't even do our 'date nights' anymore, we are trying to follow Dave Ramsey's Baby Steps to financial freedom, if it's not a necessity it doesn't make the cut), and the weather isn't cooperating to go out and do 'free' fun stuff, so about the only things we do now is watch TV, play with the grandkids, and I do Farmville on Facebook!
My computer is finally fixed, but they had to replace the hard drive again so now Ray has to reinstall things for me and try to set everything up so it's familiar to me again. He said by this weekend he hopes to have me up and running, so hopefully I'll be back to blogging soon. But you'll all have to read about the Blessings of Farmville because that's about the extent of my life this past month!
I think I got Marcy addicted too!

On a serious note, the Blog Village has been such a Blessing in my life, I think about everyone, and I talk to God about each of you everyday.

Happy Blogging, Bernie!
God Bless you!
Love to you,
Eileen

Bernie said...

Eileen, I have listened to The Dave Ramsey Show and think he gives wonderful advice, so good for you and Ray for taking his advice and making it work.

I miss you, and your stories and pictures of Jayden and Mia but I understand completely, and you are so good to always comment. You have become such a good friend Eileen, I am so blessed to have you in my life.

Remember nothing you say is ever boring to us....we miss you.

So happy you have your computer back....Happy Lent sweetie....Hugs to Jayden and Mia......:-)

You scared me to death Bernie, when I started to read I thought you were saying goodbye. I left you an e-mail about my other blog. I can't begin to tell you how this post today came at just the right time for me. I too thought that you were bowing out and I hoped that was not the case and I am glad you will continue to blog for we all need you.

I am amazed that what I have felt --the lack of response and no commenting has been felt by many others as well. I have been very discouraged lately.

However, I could always count on you to comment and I thank you for that. I have thought of you often during these Olympic games and I feel sorry that Canada is not winning more. They expected to and I know they feel really bad. And you are such a fan, that would extend to you as well.

I guess you have to feel that each athlete is just doing the best they can and that is all you can expect from them. I always thought that was the best line in all of "Golden Pond".

Hope to get some inspiration and write another post today. I send my love to you.

Bernie said...

Oh Cheryl I am so thankful to have found you as a friend, I love your walks and how you share your family life with us.....:-) Hugs

Bernie said...

Bernie, you are so sweet...please don't get discouraged as perhaps it is the time of year and people have turned to other things.

I am not at all disappointed in the Canadian athletes Bernie, it doesn't matter to me the medal count at all, they are so disciplined and are doing their best. I always cheer for Canada but I also want the best performance to win. I think the press is brutal when reporting, not only on Canada but all countries. I think it applies that those who can do and those who can't write about it and complain.

I do hope you are well my friend, so glad you and your warm personality and tons of wisdom have touched my life, I am blessed for that......:-) Hugs

The Retired One said...

Oh Bernie, how true and how sweet your post was.
I have been gone this past week..I did the neatest thing. Just me and my brother went on a road trip to visit my last two elderly uncles on my dad's side to interview them and make a DVD of them doing the interview. One is 90 and one is 88. We came up with 8 pages of questions to ask them about what it was like growing up where they did, questions about their siblings, their parents (my grandparents) and what they knew about their ancestors in Finland. We went first to Oscoda Michigan and then down to Columbus Ohio. It was wonderful to travel alone with my only brother, just the two of us...and then even more wonderful for us to visit with both of my uncles and hear their answers to our questions. We hugged each other hard upon leaving them, because in reality, being that old, we probably won't see each other in person again. As my older relatives pass away, I feel a piece of me die too...they are a connection to my deceased parents and my childhood. It was a very nostalgic experience that changed me in a way.
All the people in my life form who I have been and who I am today.
This includes all my blogger friends and their experiences which they so unselfishly share with each of us.
You are certainly one of them, Bernie. You have become part of my life in this blogging world and I think of you often during the day.
I am worried that you said you needed the prayers being sent your way...I hope your health is okay and that there isn't something going on you can't or won't share with us.
Remember, you are so loved and admired and that all of us are here for immediate support for anything you may be facing or going through.
You can always send me a separate email if you ever need to talk about anything.
Until then, may you rest in God's pocket, close to his heart, as you are in mine....
Luv you!!

Bernie said...

Joan you are so sweet, thank you and I love you too.
I think your trip with your brother to visit your uncles was wonderful.....they hold so much of your history and when they go so will the history.
