Hope Everyone Is Okay

Hello my friends, I know many of you have been snowed in the past couple of days both in Canada and across the border. My friend called me from Newfoundland yesterday and they were having a blizzard and much of the province was without power and I have seen on the news where many of my American friends live the snow was really coming down. I hope all of you are warm, safe and snuggled up by a warm fire with your love ones close by. Here in Alberta, the sun came out yesterday and oh it was so nice outside. Just to hear the birds chirping and feel the sun on my face was pure bliss. We have had very little sunshine this winter. Today we are back to dark clouds and cold temperatures but I am thankful for yesterday.

It has been a good week. I have started back at Curves and so love the feeling that only exercise can give me. My feet have been a bit of a problem especially at night but have been okay during the day.

I had a Spa day......Facial, manicure and pedicure......delicious. A treat for the body as well as the soul.

I am happy to say if Jackie keeps improving she may be home from the hospital next week. She will be on oxygen from now on but I know she will be much happier being at home with her family. Thank you for all your prayers.

Tomorrow will be another great day, church, a curling final and the Super Bowl. Go Colts......

God Bless and many, many hugs........:-)

I'm glad your neighbor will soon be home from the hospital, Bernie.
Sounds like you were blissfully pampered today as you well deserve.

No, no, go SAINTS....as a Southern belle who went to nursing school in New Orleans and lived there a few years ( and still have so many classmates and friend there ), I can cheer for no other...though, with only one time at the Super Bowl, it isn't too hopeful...but, hey, the saints might be on their side.

Denise said...

Thanks for the update, prayers continue for your friend. Glad you are doing well. Hope your Colts win.

Hi Bernie sweetie...
How wonderful to be pampered. I have never been to a spa. I am going to add that to my bucket list. I did go and get my hair cut, colored and fixed today. That 2 hour of treatment was wonderful, peaceful and quiet. Sometimes a gal just needs a little time to herself with another gal friend.

Love these pictures. Boy is that snow or what? Thank you for sharing. We got a few sprinkles of rain today. Not enough to amount to anything, but got some.

Have a beautiful Sunday my precious friend. Country hugs and so much love...Sherry

Sherry, oh you must have a spa day, they are wonderful. I go every 3 ro 4 months and it is a real treat not to mention that I my age I need it....

I am wishing you a wonderful Sunday as well my friend...Hugs

Hey lovely lady, glad all is well and a spa day for you... good girl, you deserve it.

I cannot imagine that much snow. We are forecast between 60 and 70mm of rain today, the schools have closed and the country is in panic!!!

Bernie said...

Hi Donna, I was at your blog just a few minutes ago...loved your gifts and so well deserved.
I do enjoy my spa days and exercise, they are fun.
Thank you for your prayers for my friends, wonderful of you.
Enjoy your Sunday and thank you for your kind words....:-) Hugs

Bernie said...

ED, that is a lot of rain but do you think the panic is kind of over reacting....I suppose there is a lot of flooding though.
Hope you are still enjoying your Gran, Uncle and G is a bit more sociable....still smiling over your description. Love your post and your comments here my friend....:-) Hugs

Days without sunshine, seem so glum to me. Winters and the monsoons. I totally identify with your feeling.

I am so worried for Jackie. I understand she might not want to share what she's going through and that is ok. If you communicate with her next, do let her know that I am praying for her speedy recovery and would want her to be hale and hearty in no time. May God bless her and be with her

Valerie said...

First of all, thank you for the good news about Jackie. She will be more comfortable in her own home.

I hadn't heard of Curve but from your description it sounds like a work-out place. Oh boy I could do with some working-out. The long winter will have me turning to fat if I'm not careful.

I have also never had a facial, the only ones on offer near me are rather public for my liking.

The next batch of snow hasn't arrived yet but I think the skies are trying to tell me something..... Hugs for you my friend.

To see responses on blogs I subscribe for email follow-up. However, even though I tick the box the system hasn't worked for a week or so ... I hope I don't miss anything.

Really sorry that I had missed out the post about your friend. (Chemo) but I will will go through the posts till I find the problem.
Your snow is thick!

Keep pampering yourself. You really deserve it!

Good morning Bernie, glad your neighbor is coming home. I've never gone to a spa, but try to do spa-like things. Every little bit helps...mind and body!

We did get quite a bit of snow, but not actually snowed in. I got a reply from Jinksy confirming the answer was right, I guess we are both pretty clever, Bernie! :)

Enjoy the Super Bowl!

HI BERNIE-

I was SO happy to hear Jackie is getting better and will be home soon. :-)

And your had a spa day? Good for you!! It is weird for me because I do not like anyone toichingm y face. Oh my.

Enjoy your 'curling' and the super bowl and your cozy fire keeping you warm. And, NO snow here in CT - although a hefty amount is expected,mid-week!!

Love you

Loved your computer poem!! LOL! Glad your neighbor is seeing improvement. Wishing her all the best.
Catching up on my blog reading here! You really are one very busy, busy lady! Sun or no sun - that doesn't deter us from going about our daily business, right! These weeks of overcast skies are not my favorite, but my daughter loves them. She feels all wrapped up in a cuddly blanket! Have a blessed Sunday!

Bernie, thank you again for a wonderful post. Glad things are working out good for your neighbor. Fortunately I live in a warm state, so I am just watching the snow on the telly. Blessings to you dear one.

We've not been having a ton of snow this year, but it never melts away completely, so the ground is always covered.

Dear Bernie, glad your friend is improving and hope she does well at home. I go to the spa about twice a year, mostly in the summer so I can wear sandals. We have about 4 inches of snow but we manage pretty well. I have been painting Valentine's for my sweeties and doing a little sewing. Thanks for your kind comments. Blessings on this Sunday.

Thank you for visiting my post so loyally. You seem to me to be the kind of person who brings a lot of joy into her life and is joyous most of the time. That is what we see.

I didn't know about your neighbor but I wish her well. Anyone who has to go through chemo I really feel for.

Suoer Bowl today. I hope the Saints win simply because it would be good for New Orleans after all their tragedy. I guess it is a small thing in the fabric of life but every bit helps.

(Everybody else. including authors, use this expression "fabric of life" so I thought I would try it.)

Lily said...

Oh my gosh. That snow is crazy. I'll quit whining that it's 40 degrees here...

Exercise is amazing. I love how it makes my body and mind feel!

Prayers for your friend. I hope there are continued improvements.

Val where I go for my spa days is very private, they provide lunch with champagne and their robes are plush terry cloth which have been warmed....I love these kind of days.
My neighbour's name is Jackie, I wasn't speaking of our blogger friend Jackie (I think you know this)
Have a great evening....:-) Hugs

Lily, one has to like snow if we are living in Canada....I don't mind the snow, just don't like the cold.

I do enjoy exercising and after the winter months I really need to exercise as well.

I am so glad you got to go to the SPA! You SO deserve it, honey!
We did not get the snow that many people did out east and south of us...
for some reason this winter we missed many of the blizzards that everybody else got...it is very rare that we didn't get them this year...we have less snow than usual when people in the deep south are getting a ton of it...how weird, hey???
I am finally back home from Mayo Clinic..I am so glad to have been able to help my friend but am very happy to be home again with my husband. We really missed each other and I really missed being home in my own bed. Now company is coming so we will be back to being busy.
I am so glad you didn't get hit by the snow that some others have had, too!
Take care!! Luv ya!

Bernie said...

Joan, so glad you are home safe and sound with your husband. I love how you two have such a close relationship.
We still have tons of snow here and it was cloudy and cold today.
We will get a lot more snow before the winter is over.
Enjoy being home....luv you....Hugs

Hi Bernie, Was glad to get your update - I always wonder what you're doing when you don't post for awhile! Glad you're back at Curves. Exercise is good for the mind, the body, and the spirit. Hope the sun shines for you this week. I have a haircut and facial the end of the week - can't wait!

Bernie said...

Hi Barb, oh yes I love how I feel after exercising and I found I was putting on a bit of weight since Christmas so I don't want to gain any more and loose 5 pounds before summer....I find exercise and spa days are very good for the body, mind and spirt as well as a great walk in wooded areas close to nature......Have a great week my friend, enjoy your facial.....Hugs

We got a little snow last night and today but very little compared to other parts of the country!
Quite cold here though!
I'm snug and warm with Jake cuddling up to me tonight!

I love them!
And exercise is also a wonderful thing!

Take care Bernie and be well!

Hi Bernie,
Nice to hear that you had a day just for you! A Spa day and exercising. I have never gone to a Spa, but exercise just does something for my body and soul. Have you ever tried Yoga? I take that regualarly.
Glad to hear that Jackie is improving.
Stay warm.

Blessings each day said...

Well, I guess everyone else's snow has been our rain...tomorrow (Tuesday) we are due for more, sad to say (septic woes again).

I can just picture you being grateful for the sun on your face, Bernie and I know that I love it too, so today I need to run out to enjoy it briefly before tomorrow!

We are having lots of ice in the mornings (each morning I am scraping and scraping with a very sad ice scraper) so the cars are covered, but warm enough during the day that we get rain instead of snow...think the snow might be better for our septic tank, but it could also cause accidents here where people panic.

blessings and warm hugs,

marcy

Your "spa day" sounds wonderful. Glad you could do it - and that's good news about Jackie. Praying that when she returns home she may find improved health beyond her expectations.

Many Hoosiers are recovering from the big loss last night. I must not be too great a Colt fan - The truth is, I hate to see ANYone lose.

Have a good week, Bernie. I'll think of you when our snow comes in tomorrow. It may keep us from our formerly-Red-Hat meeting!

Sweet Bernie, I am, first, in awe of the number of followers who post comments. You are truly revered and loved!! I pray that your friend will heal and do well at home, and I know you will be there any time she needs you.

It snowed twice while I was in Texas ... nothing like being in the home where I was raised and having a blizzard to bring back that warm and cozy feeling. Dad kept the fire going every day!

Stay well, and keep warm!!

Love you and am blessed by all the attention and loving words you express, every one of them!!

I had to come over here after I read your comment on my prayer blog, thanks so much. It really does help to have others to commiserate with.
I don't know what's wrong with me lately, just feel so out of it.
I guess it doesn't help that Jayden and I haven't been feeling too well.

I spend most of my days now losing myself in computer games. I don't know why I want my mind occupied with mindless things but I do. I'll snap out of it, I always do.
Love to you,
