Merry Christmas

Hello everyone, it has been a few days since I have been able to post. Life has been so very busy.

We actually thawed out here on Wednesday, it never did get as warm as they said it would but anything was an improvement. I have been on the go every day since. Unfortunately I lost my key chain while cleaning off my car. These included my house, mail box and safety deposit box keys as well as a few others. We searched for hours the past few days but I'm afraid they will not show up until the Spring thaws. It cost a small fortune to have them all replaced but I really had no choice, I now have a new set of keys for everything and finally was able to open my mail box....note to self.......be more careful. Honestly I would rather give something away than loose anything.

Monday will be my last day of shopping, Tuesday I have my course and Wednesday I am hosting my Christmas Tree. It will be so much fun. I have wrapped and filled stockings for all my patients and on Monday I am picking up trays of vegetables, fruit and sweets. I have already got in the wine, cheese, crackers and chocolates. I am so looking forward to sharing my home and decorations this year.

Thursday, Christmas Eve I am going to my nephews. We will all go to Mass then over to friends for a full Christmas Dinner. Christmas Day these same friends will come to my nephew's for another full Christmas Dinner. Christmas night, Monique my nephew's wife, family arrives as well as more friends and it is always lots of fun. I am really looking forward to having this time with the children, they are 12, 4 and 2, just the right age to enjoy Santa Claus.

I come home on the 26th as I have a party to go to in Beaumont on the 27th. I have a good friend visiting from Washington DC who will be at her daughters for Christmas. Her daughter is hosting a party for all her mother's old friends. I am so looking forward to this as I haven't seen her in several years but we have always kept in touch. My only problem is the driving as I have never driven there before and I don't know what the weather nor the highways will be like on that day. Oh well, will just take one day at a time and enjoy the moment.

I will not be posting until the Christmas rush has calmed down though I will still read and comment on all your blogs I promise. I want to take this time to tell you all how much you have added to my life this year. I feel as though you are all family and I have so enjoyed being surrounded by loving, kind and caring "village" people. You know I can't think of another Village in Blogland where I would rather dwell.

I wish all of you and your families a very Merry Christmas....may you only know love, peace and health during this most beautiful time of year.

God Bless.......many, many hugs......:-)

Bernie...You are a sweet sweet lady. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year.
I am so sorry that you lost your keys....a lot of trouble and I'm sure stress until you got dulicates made. I was wondering if a metal detector would have worked through all that snow...? I have one, and I hardly use it, but I am going to start. I'm going to the beach during some time off and do some detecting, relaxing, photographing and soul searching.
As you get together with your relatives, I do wish you only the best of times, my dear friend. You have a genuinely loving heart. I can feel that from Canada to Georgia. There aren't many people like you in this world. I wish there were more...but unfortunately, most people are usually looking out for number one..and not others. You, on the other hand do just the opposite...and I do hope that you will take care of yourself and your health. I send you much love...
Always,
Jackie

Bernie, it's nice that you are out of that deep freeze, but sorry you lost your keys. I woke up to a beautiful covering of snow this morning, nothing like the blizzard on the East coast though or Barb's snow in Colorado.
I need to get a few things Monday too, all the kids come here on Christmas Eve to eat and open presents, they have Christmas morning at their homes and later in the day we get together again.

Have fun at your Christmas Tea Wednesday, I'll be thinking of you.
I'm so very happy to be part of our village too Bernie!
Love,
Wanda

I know you have been visiting around but glad to see a post from you. Sounds like you have great plans. I am so happy to be staying at home. We will all go to Mass Christmas eve and to a party at my daughter's home. Then on Christmas day my entire brood will be here. I wouldn't have it anyother way. Blessing and all the joys of Christmas to you.

Dearest Bernie, you have quite the social calendar, don't you? I am really doing nothing. My oldest son heads down to Orange County to visit his dad and lovely other mother and my youngest flies to San Diego Christmas night to spend a week with his girlfriend. Katie, was just here for a week - she's on break from Cal Poly - will graduate in June and I imagine, if she can get a job up here, Jeremy and she will get an apt. together. She's a great girl and I loved having her and her dog, Sammy, visit. Sammy was the best, I snuggled with her all the time!

Please drive safely on all your snowy adventures...and have a joyous holiday with all your family and friends.

So sorry about the keys, Bernie, you must have been frantic for awhile. I'm glad things are back to normal now.

I love hearing about all your Christmas plans, it all sounds like such fun, so filling (as in heart-filling). I hope you enjoy a wonderful time with patients, friends, and family, and I hope the weather cooperates.
And your beautiful sentiments speak right to my heart. I feel very Blessed to have met so many loving, caring, inspiring people here in the village! The support is overwhelming.
After my Mom passed, for a long, long while there was so much missing from my life, but this past year that void has lessened and I think the nurturing of these good women here has helped so much to fill that void.
I will be thanking God for each and every one of you this Christmas.

We go to Mass on Christmas Eve and then the kids and my Aunt will be coming for dinner. My Aunt is alone now, and she likes to go to midnight Mass at her old parish so I think I will go with her too so she doesn't have to be alone.
Christmas day the kids will be back again, and I'll have my Aunt again too, and my sister, brother-in-law, and their son will come too. Then the day after Christmas is the BIG hullabaloo with Ray's family included and more of my family. I'm looking forward to it all!

Enjoy all your plans with family and friends!
Merry Christmas!
Love to you,
Eileen

Bernie said...

Eileen, thank you. I think its wonderful you will go to midnight Mass with your Aunt so she won't be alone....she has lost so many she loved of her own age. Your plans sound wonderful and very busy but I know you will keep it all together and see that everyone is happy. Please give Jayden and Mia a big hug and I know Santa will be really good to them both.
I wish you, Ray and all your family many blessing throughout this beautiful season and always. Love you.......:-) Hugs

Quit thinking. Just get in the car and go Bernie. Once your hands are on the wheel, you'll be on your way. Put in some music you love and sing, as the miles slip away and you arrive at your destination.

So glad to hear that your nephew's wife is cooking both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners. My mom and I have done that in our respective homes for years. I don't think either of us knows that most people don't cook two festive meals. (Please give your nephew's wife a hug from me. I appreciate her as I'm sure you do.)

Glad it has warmed up, a tad, for you. Freezing here in Texas at 49 tonight. So can't do the cold anymore. Heat is on!

Take good care and have a beautiful Christmas.

Sorry to hear you lost your keys, not the sort of Christmas event you need when you are as busy as you are. I hope they do turn up and can be kept as spare, now you have a new set... perhaps someone you know will get a metal detector for Christmas!!!
I was talking to my son and family on Skype yesterday, (they live in Dover/Boston) and he showed me the snow they have in New Hampshire.... I was telling him about the road chaos here in the UK from just an inch or so. It must be a lot worse for you further up into Canada. I count my blessings.
Dear Bernie, I wish you the bestest of Christmases, all the blessings you have given to us over the past few months, I thank you for. I hope Santa leaves you a stocking of good cheer.
Love Granny

Oh, Sweet Bernie, may you have a wonderful time visiting all of your friends and relatives during your busy, busy schedule!! I wish you the best Christmas ever and a wonderful and prosperous New Year! I am waiting to hear on my computer so I won't be posting as often either until probably next week, except for a few times without pictures.
I know you will find your keys again when the snow melts or when someone shovels for you and hears a "clink". ha It is so frustrating to lose something, isn't it?
Please know you have enriched my life so much this year just by your positive attitude, your caring heart and your outlook on life.
Also, I want to thank you again SOOOO much for the generous package. You are a dear, dear, friend!

So happy to read your post! I can hear the excitement in your words. It IS such a beautiful season with so many opportunities to enjoy friends and family. Your "Christmas Tree" celebration sounds great! Almost makes me wish I were a "patient" (not really)!

Be safe in all your travels. (Roads were very tricky here this morning. I drove VERY s-l-o-w-l-y to church!)

Hold on to those keys! Did you get an extra set made while you were at it? What a frustration that must have been. I'm glad it's behind you.

Now we go about our individual celebrations but we carry with us thoughts, special love and kindnesses of all our village friends. May the warmth and peace, love and laughter that we have shared spill over into all our relationships this week and throughout 2010!

Hugs and the most sincere appreciation and fondness to you, Bernie. Merry Christmas!
