Hello.........It is so good to be back!

Hello my friends. I am home and back to a bit of a routine. I cannot tell you just how much I am enjoying sleeping in my own bed.

We have had horrible cold, windy and wet weather - that is until today. It was absolutely gorgeous outside today. I even managed to walk for almost an hour this afternoon and my face is sunburned. I had to go downtown for a medical test. I was given an injection and then had to wait almost two hours before the test was to be done so I went for my cup of coffee and then my walk to pass the time. It was glorious and I could see it on the people's faces as I met them. Something happens to peoples spirits when it is a sunny crisp day.

I arrived home around four, and strange as this sounds my young cleaning lady had been in and the house was so clean and smelled so fresh. Now what is strange about it is I had spent 8 days at my nephews and cleaned through his house several times, his house is four times bigger than mine and I don't always do my own cleaning. My nephew's house is up for sale so every time there was to be a showing I would dust, vacuum, polish and clean. I want the house to sell for him so badly, he is having such a rough time. I know it will happen eventually, and all will work out. It always does.

I am going back for another week in October. Greg has to go away with his work and Fallon and I will spend more time together. She is so sweet, she cracks me up with her expressions and I love listening to her laugh and sing, now her dancing is another story......she is a great kid. Expensive but great......I know God has put this precious child in my life for a reason. She won't like being called a child, she is 13 and in her mind, all grown up. She is very mature for her age but to me she is still a child who needs tons of love, understanding and patience. She does very well in school and is madly in love with Justin Bieber. In fact her dad made it home on Sunday in time to take her and her best friend to his concert. She text me when she got home.......had a wonderful time and she was in love!

Driving home Sunday it was pouring down rain, after 45 minutes it turned to a wet slushy snow......I just couldn't believe we were receiving snow so early. None of it stayed on the ground. My house was freezing when I came in as the heat was off while I was away and we had such a cold week. I lit a fire and also turned the fire on. I went to 5 o'clock Mass so the house was warm when I got home, I was only gone 45 minutes. I ate a sub sandwich and went to bed early and slept almost 14 hours. I know, it's hard to believe but I was exhausted so I think you could say I crashed.

Monday I was up early and out the door to do some grocery shopping. Madi arrived around 3. Madi is my friend Pat's granddaughter (I bought my condo from Pat over 11 years ago) Sometimes she comes over after school for a couple of hours until her Dad picks her up. She only comes here when her Gramma is busy with something. I don't mind at all, she is another special little person in my life. I am so blessed as I love children and I have so many wonderful children in my life.

Tuesday was doctors appointment and today was test. So far so good, all is well. I know this for sure as I feel much better, in fact I would feel great if I weren't so tired but thankfully not nearly as tired as I was. Everything is going to be fine. I am hoping to play Bridge with the girls each Wednesday and spare in mixed Curling on Friday nights. We need a certain amount of people before we can have the ice or even a table........keeping my fingers crossed.

Okay I think I have filled in all the blanks, and I am sure you are all bored to death by now. All is well in Alberta. Many people collect many things, now me I just keep on collecting friends. Life is good my friends.

God Bless and many, many hugs...........:-)

Good to see you back! Wow, a 14 hr. sleep - sure is an indicator that you needed it to replenish yourself. Have a great week-end and take good care of you!

Snow and sunburn mixed! I just love extremes, whether it's weather or moods!

I also like the sound of getting back to a cleaned house, smelling fresh too!!

I do hope your nephew's situation resolves soon.

God bless
Bernie and as you would say ((Hugs)).

Welcome back! And I absolutely LOVE your new header!

I know that feeling when you come home to a clean house. My sister is a housekeeper who makes very little money, so I hire her as often as I can afford to clean my house for me. She really does a fabulous job, and the house is such a delight to come home to.

You had snow - we are still having mid-90 degree heat. In fact, today it was 95. I'm not ready yet for snow, but some 80's or 70's would be great!

14 hours sleep? I'd think I'd died! I count myself lucky if I get the 'four' part of that number! Welcome home, Bernie. xx

I'm never bored reading your posts, Bernie. So pleased you enjoyed your time with Fallon, as always, but I'm a wee bit jealous of your 14 hour sleep. Oh what I would give for a similar sleep session. Like Jinksy, I'm lucky if I make 4 in one go!

God bless you always.

It's so good to hear from you again Bernie and I'm happy that your time was well spent!
As for the cleaning lady, the people that I clean for really don't need a cleaning lady. I think it is just a bit of a luxury that the lady of the house treats herself to. She always tells me that there is nothing like coming home from work (She works hard) and having the house smell so good! I would have one myself but with the size of this house it would cost way more than I could afford so I am my own cleaning lady, LOL!!!
So happy to hear that you are feeling better. And I too can't believe that you've had snow already!! It was 90 degrees here yesterday!!
Stay warm, dry and healthy Bernie!
Love Always, Di ♥

NEVER bored hearing about life from your "neck of the woods"! Today WE have fog - supposed to be up around 90 degrees! I can't even imagine snow yet!

Sounds like your body is catching up after its work out!

Your "being there" for the children is a gift to those responsible for them--and obviously you derive pleasure from it, too! Good for you.

Snow? Did you say snow? As the kids might say, that sucks.

Hi.. So glad your time away was eventful and even more glad you are back. Sorry about the snow!! It is still so hot here in South Carolina but it's why we left the northeast so we have to take the good with the bad. You will have a lot of blog reading to catch up on. Relax, enjoy and most of all Welcome Back!

So glad you are home Bernie, I have missed reading of your day and your visits to my blog. It never seems complete until I see a comment from you.

Your 14 hours of sleep must have been greatly needed Bernie, that along with the cold weather and being back in your own comfy warm home and bed, maybe an intinct to hibernate kicked in! :)

Many hugs back to you, Bernie!

So glad you had a good visit with Fallon, and know your nephew appreciates all you do for him (including keeping the house shining!). Snow already - hard to believe as we are still sweltering here in Georgia! We did finally have some rain the other day, short-lived but welcomed none the less as you could hear the bushes and trees gulping it up.

Again, glad you're back and look forward to hearing more from you until you depart again!

Bernie, I thought of you when I awoke this morning - now here you are! I'm glad you're feeling so well. Being tired after being away from home and dealing with responsibilities is normal. I sometimes feel tired after having my Grands for just a few days. Sounds like you got some Vitamin D directly from the sun yesterday! I'm in Denver but heading back to the mountains tomorrow. October is going to be busy with guests and travel. Sounds like your October is going to be busy, too! Take Care! PS A Friends' Collection is the best kind.

I picked your blog up from another one, and have enjoyed reading it for several months, but have never commented before. I am a fellow Canadian residing in the nations capital - married a very long time with 5 children, 4 of whom are married with families and the last one to take the leap next July. We were in Ab in July to visit daughter in Calgary, and daughter from Dawson Creek joined us for a few days.....nice to see the kidlets. I dont blog myself and rarely comment but I do enjoy reading yours. I notice many of your readers are from the U.S. I could tell when they mentioned their temps in F.
I will keep reading. love the fact that there is no gloom and doom.

Oh Bernie! I loved reading your post and all about your trip. Yes I hope all is well with you. There is nothing so tiring than ill health! I actually got sick and tired of being sick and tired for the past year. I am finally starting to feel better myself! And then comes the winter for you! ARGH. I guess that is why I am in the Desert. I would absolutely hide myself under a blanket the whole winter if I had to face snow so early! hugs and smiles...

Hi Bernie, your posts are always filled with your wonderful spirit. I really like reading your posts. I do understand how much energy it takes to stay in someone else's house and to be at the beck and call of someone else when you are not used to it.Even when you are enjoying their company. Good for you that you gave yourself the treat of a good sleep in your own comfy bed. You live a busy life and are there for so many people. Let us know the results of your tests and take care of yourself.

Hey sweet lady...after readying your blog about it being so cold, I had to stop and check the date on this post. (grin) We are SO looking forward to cooler temps here in the south, and looks like we're supposed to start getting them this week. I don't think it will be what YOU would consider cool...but believe me, for us it will be. Supposed to be around 85 tomorrow I think. SOUNDS HEAVENLY*!
I'm not sure what your test were for you mentioned, but you're in my prayers that it's nothing serious and all good results*!

that's so funny about how great fallon is, but her dancing is another story:)
i find myself reading your posts with a smile. you sift through the mundane of life and find regular sources of joy and wonderment, even just mentioning this child was put into your life for a reason, just as you are in hers for a reason.
maybe so can discuss how awesome justin bieber is:)

Just so glad you are back. Sounds like you had a great time though and that is wonderful. 13 is a tough age. Yes, they need alot of extra love at that age. It is so hard on a young girl now. She will be fine though. Just love and patience.

Oh Bernie, it seems like ages since you and I chatted. Like you, I have been CRAZY busy this summer...it just flew by as we finished renovating our Guest House and it swallowed up the entire season. Now, I have been out in the autumn colors almost every spare moment trying to take as much photography as possible, because I know our snow will be coming soon. I dread that first few weeks of snowfall...I guess it is just denial because I love the autumn and summer so much. I hope your test comes out perfect! You are always on my mind and I am sending you good thoughts and prayers your way. xxoo We will visit more when we are both snowbound over the long winter I am sure. ha

Sounds like life is good at home and your trip was a great one. I could sleep 14 hours if I did not have to get up to use the powder room.
It was 100 degrees today and 101 tomorrow. HOT here in CA.
I would love to have someone come and clean for us. No time for my hubby, as he has enough to do and I am just working at feeling well and keeping myself going one day at a time.
You wrote a great post. I just visit more often. Thanks for visiting my Blog.

I've been wondering how you are. It's always stressful to have a house for sale. It's good to dust but next time put some coffee on and try baking. I have looked at many houses in my life- having moved so many times and a house that looks lived in is sometimes just as appealing as a perfectly shining one. Take good care of yourself Bernie! More rain today...

What a nice look to your blog. We are trying to sell our home so i know what you mean about cleaning the house every time before I leave the house for anything--just in case we have a showing. It has been nice though to live in a clean house all of the time. Children are such a blessing. I am glad that you have Fallon and Madi. I chuckled over your description of Fallon. Aren't you proud that you can text her!
