What a time I am having with all the changes in Blogger.........errrrrrrrrrrr! I am so frustrated. Perhaps because I don't know what is going on..........with anything. Uploading pictures, changing wallpaper, adding a links......I am about ready to ......well you know.
How about you? Any problems? I always thought a young person would work this out in a minute but I'm not so sure. I have e-mailed blogger friends and they have tried to help me but I think I am computer challenged when it comes to these changes, did I mention I don't like change......my young neighbour tried to help but God Love him he was no better than I was.
I have decided I am just going to do what I can as best I can and move on. I have been working on these changes for a couple of weeks now, I would try different things, get frustrated with it and shut it down for a couple of days before coming back to it with a fresh outlook.....guess what! It didn't do me a bit of good. Sooooooo, what you see is what you get well for now anyway. I know I will keep trying. Any information on uploading photos to a post or copy and pasting a new wallpaper from another site, well it would be appreciated. It is not necessary though as my world is going to move forward anyway, but guess who is looking for a computer course to take this Fall......Yup, that would be me.
The one thing that has bothered me very much is that Reader is not showing me when everyone has posted. I happen to think "I haven't heard from so and so" and I go and check on them and they had posted. So forgive me if I have missed commenting on your post, I am sure that all these kinks will be worked out soon. (Be it Bloggers fault......my fault.....not so sure when I can be up to par)
We have lost another blogger friend this week, Barry, from An Explorers View of Life. Barry was an exceptional writer with a keen wit and a great outlook. I loved visiting him and wish to send my condolences to his wife Linda and his daughters. Rest In Peace my dear friend, you will be missed.
It is really hot here today, so I am off to see if I can mess up more things on my blog because this heat is not bothering me at all......LOL

that is why i just stick with the template i started with...i messed up once and thought i deleted my blog...it scared me straight...had not heard about the reader issue...may need to check in with some people...hmm...sorry you are having such a time...it was beastly hot here today too...and i was rather silly in the sun and got rather burned...so it is off to aloe for me...

Sigh. Bernie, I am so computer illiterate that you look like a genius next to me. No pictures, no videos...but I still love to do it :) I've been thinking about taking a computer course, too. I even have trouble getting awards up. You know...like "plainest blog award". lol

Just keep on trying Bernie. When the Draft blogger thingie came up it scared me to death. But that is why I have more than one blog so I can try it out first. You might try that. I have now suddenly after months of not being able to do it, can get my photo up on the followers list. Then I lost every one of my favorite blogs list and had to do them all over again. True some of the young folks can't do the blog stuff but can do the facebook, and I can't do that. So just do what is fun. It looks good. Love ya

Bernie, oh I feel for you, your blog looks good. Blogger is having some issues, your last post I could not read or comment on. I don't think it is you as much as figuring out the kinks with blogger. I hope I don't as I am just able to do what I am doing with the help of my son and sometimes my daughter fixes something for me. We do have trouble making the pictures go where we want them to. Jim says you have to trick he computer and so he works with it and gets it most times tho not always like he would like it.

Hi Bernie - I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with your blog. I had a feeling I might have trouble so I stayed with what I knew. I had trouble commenting on some bloggers sites until my son installed Chrome and since then I still use Firefox most of the time since it blocks most of the ads but change to Chrome to read certain blogs. If you ever feel like a country drive let me know and we could meet in the middle - or I'd love to have you to visit here - we could tour my town. if we do go away in August it will be just for a day or two - things get really busy on our farm in September though so let me know. ReplyDeleteMy latest post is the FIFTH attempt at posting! Pictures wouldn't insert in the proper places, and when I tried moving them, they would go only so far, then move to the bottom of the post. tried deleting and they wouldn't delete. I just kept on starting over and finally got it right and posted before it could mess up again!
And the reader thing is hitting me, too. I also have one friend who changed her blog address, I signed up to follow the new one, and it keeps alerting me that the OLD one has posted - even though the old one officially has no followers, including me! And I can't access the new one thru her old one. FRUSTRATING!

ReplyDeleteBlogger: I have a two column. I do not know if your problems have to do with three column formatting. You have to find a background for "three-column background" and you can find them at "Cutest Blog on the Block" or "Scrap E Blog", to name two that I have frequented. Posting photos: you upload the photo, but before you do that, you need to have your cursor somewhere near where you want the photo to land. When you click OK and the picture is pasted in your entry, there's a little bar that pops up and gives you "left, center, right" options as well as "small, medium, large" and there is a "remove" option.
I really like the preview option because it saves me posting and then finding an error.
I don't know if this is helpful, but let me know and I'll be happy to email instructions on any specific problem you may be having.
Oh, you do NOT have to use the Blogger "design" templates.
Let me know if you need me to tell you how to change your background ... or, if you want, I will be happy to do it for you.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I am not fond of the new setup, either. I have gotten wound up in it, so I have been bouncing around trying to decide what I want to do. LoL
I act like it's a big deal, my blog, but I don't really have anything much to say anymore. Nothing goes on around here, so I don't have anything to talk about.
shabbyblogs has a tutorial on how to go back to the old one.BUT you don't have any control on how to set your colors and sizes of print, etc. It's a catch 22. I want to thank you for being such a dear and stopping and commenting on my blog. Hang in there and keep trying or get in touch with Shabby Blogs and see if that helps.

I haven't had any trouble with Blogger. Know why? I haven't been on it for a month. That probably solved my blogging problems, eh? :)) I'm sorry that you've had problems...and I hope that all is working out well now.
I have grown very close to my blogging friends.....each one different...each one special....and I have thought about what I would do when a blogging friend passes away...and you know, it breaks my heart to even begin to think about it...so, I put it away...out of my mind. I'm sorry that you've lost a blogging friend. Words don't adequately say what I feel...but knowing you as I do, I know that you know that I care......

ReplyDeleteHi Bernie...I had a problem with blogger once that drove me nuts. No matter what I did I couldn't fix it. My server provider finally had me switch from interet explorer to firefox and since I've never had any issues with blogger. And I agree with some of the others....I don't change the template b/c I'm afraid it might cause some issues....Great you're talking a computer course in the fall.....don't let it get to you too much. You've got a great blog here....

Yes, the newer version is definitely a little hard to get hang of initially...but I guess change is the only thing that is constant... Gradually we become accustomed..i am sure its only a matter of time before you also find things easier!
