I'M RIGHT HERE.......

Hello my friends.......I received an e-mail today asking where have I been. I have been home watching the Olympics and loving every moment of it.

I love watching these young people compete. You all know I am Canadian and yes I am cheering for Canadians but I am also cheering for everyone of these competitors. They are all inspirational......to think they have practiced thousands of hours to perfect their skills. Their parents and siblings have sacrificed their time, money and themselves so their talented child could find their true potential. Their discipline and hard work can be wiped out in sixty seconds yet they will risk everything to be the best they can be. I am in awe as I watch them, their hair blowing in the wind and cheeks flushed with excitement. I love them and cheer for them all. Nationality doesn't matter to me, nor does the language they speak. I do not need to know their language to understand everything they are thinking and saying as they perform. It is all on their faces, their actions and re-actions says it all.

I guess you can tell I love the Olympics, always have. I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to watch these games in a warm home with good food and treats as close as my kitchen. For a few hours a day I get to live vicariously through these athletes and live their stories. I so believe in them and wish them their best performances ever. This is their time to excel and my time to enjoy.

Good Night my friends, God Bless........and many, many hugs....:-)

  4. ED, Hi sweetie, you are so accurate it's almost scary...I am havig so much fun....laughing, cheering, clapping my hands and even at times shedding tears of joy. I wish all these kids could win a medal....if they were passing out gold medals for the best couch cheerleader wearing soft comfy sweats and eating chocolate I'd be a winner.
    Luv ya.......:-) Hugs

  5. I'm visiting our daughter and family in southern AB and we've really enjoyed watching the Olympics as part of the stuff we're doing together! Not everyone can win the gold, but each one deserves the highest praise and accolades for even having the discipline and endurance to be a part of the Olympics!

  10. Good Morning Sweet Bernie...
I too so love the Olympics. I feel that whoever wins, its just wonderful, they are all winners, that is why they are there competing. What an honor to be so close to all the excitement.

Have you gone to any of the festivities? I would love to have seen the torch ran by. So patriotic you know?

I stay up as late as I can. When I can't stand it any more, as I get up at 3:30am for work, then I go to sleep. I so look forward to days off and weekends so that I can stay up and watch.

Have a beautiful day sweetie. Country hugs and much love...Sherry

  14. I am so aware of how much you like sporting events, especially curling. But I never asked...were you sports minded as a child, Bernie? Were you at all athletic? I loved bad minton, played a little basketball and baseball, but mostly just rode a bike! Enjoy the Games, Bernie...I'll be thinking of you and the fun you're having!
