Prayers for the Fallen, The Wounded and Their Families

Today I am feeling sad for the fallen soldiers who gave their lives as they readied themselves for deployment, the wounded and all of their families and friends.

Give your loved ones an extra hug today, we do not know what the day may bring...and may God grant those who mourn comfort and peace during this horrible and painful time in their lives. May he heal the wounded and grant them the peace and hope for a world of unconditional love, understanding and love for all.

God Bless the USA

  1. Bernie, as I am home this 17 days, in Columbus, GA, home of Ft. Benning, a huge infantry center, I think of all the troops that have been deployed from here since my youth. I left for nursing school in New Orleans at the height of the VietNam war and, since then, so many young men and women have fought in conflicts so far from home. Families has waited, anxiously for their return and many never came back. I have offered so many prayers heavenward for these brave people and their families and I will continue to do so. I wish we did not have war and I will also continue to pray that, one day, there will be no more fighting.

  8. Such a tragedy for so many families...their pain must be so great. I can't understand a person's anger being directed toward innocent others in this way...The world is made so scary by the hate of others sometimes, one never knows what's down the road or around the corner. You can't live scared, but it makes you want to gather and protect everyone you love!

  17. Wanda, my heart is so heavy for all those involved in this and then more killing in Orlando today...what is happening? Anger has been bubbling for a while now and I think it is just the beginning of a horrible time in our history. It is so much easier to love....fear creates anger which ressolves nothing. Will talk with you on Monday as I won't be home until late Sunday night. Have a great weekend, luv ya....Hugs to Alivia....:-)

  19. Bernie, thank you for this post. It is Remembrance Sunday tomorrow in the UK but I guess none of us are waiting for that to offer our prayers. Currently they are with the families of the latest casualties in this terrible war. Too many brave men dead.

  20. Oh Bernie, how nice of you to do this touching post, especially since you aren't living in the USA.
My heart is so heavy from this horrendous act.
I grew up on Air Force bases (my dad was a career AF man), so I can imagine the horror and panic of all of the service people's families as this unfolded. It must have been awful.
You are so sweet to do a tribute and prayer to all of them.
I echo your sentiments and thank you from the bottom of my heart for them.

  24. My heart is heavy to think of the ramifications of this tragedy in terms of the families and children it will touch. The young bride and groom I took photos of while in MI were headed to that base. I don't know them personally, but I thought of him immediately when I heard the breaking news.
