Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to my family and friends. Today I am remembering the Thanksgiving 's I celebrated while growing up. I loved them. It was always cold outside and I loved playing with my brothers and sisters in the crisp falling leaves. We would play outside for hours knowing that soon we would be going inside to the best Turkey Dinner ever. Our house always smelled of Turkey and Pumpkin Pie. My mum's turkey dinners were the best especially her gravy. I loved left overs and turkey sandwiches on thick slices of home made bread with lots of mayonnaise. Some years we would watch the world series on TV and mum would make us something special to eat during the game. She would buy round cheese and buns to make sandwiches with. Now this was a real treat for us as we seldom had sandwiches unless for a bed lunch or after school snack. Perhaps that is why I love sandwiches today, I often have a sandwich for a meal but some how my mum didn't think that was enough food to make a meal. Anyway back then they were a real treat and I loved Thanksgiving at my house.

Now I have to explain something and I hate having to explain this on such a beautiful and thankful weekend but it has to be done.  I am sorry I had to remove my follower widget but there were porn pictures popping up with certain followers, I tried to delete and block them but they became to hard to keep up with and not only do I find these people sad even sick  but I didn't want to offend any of you should you click on them. I tried to follow Blogger's instruction but I have had nothing but trouble by doing that, it was far easier to just remove the widget all together. Thank you AC for helping me with this and all of you for understanding.

Have a great weekend every one, God Bless and  many, many hugs............:-)

Bernie, I haven't been around to visit lately... but I was thinking about you the other day, especially as we're enjoying this great weather.

I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. Great posting. Isn't it fun to think about to our childhood days and these special events? I've got lots of fun memories too!

Enjoy! (BTW, sorry to hear about the followers mess---)

Hugs..............

Blessings for a fabulous Thanksgiving week-end! I'd better check my widget, haven't really had a look at it! Too bad it was such a mess for you! No worries though!

So sorry that you had such an experience Bernie, but the follower widget won't be missed by me. I happened to see what you speak of in someone's comment section once.

Thanksgiving in Canada is Monday, right. Here, it's Nov 25th. I make a sandwich a meal with turkey & havarti cheese, then add avocado slices and roasted peppers from a jar... they're veggies, well actually I think an avocado is a fruit eaten like a vegetable!

Hope you have some turkey left over for sandwiches!

Happy Thanksgiving Bernie!!!

I enjoyed reading your Thanksgiving memories, Bernie - tradition is what makes holidays special, I think. Sometimes, one of my grandchildren will say, "Grammy, tell a story about the "olden" days!" I LOVE turkey leftovers, too! Hope deleting the widget solves this problem for you.

HI BERNIE and HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND YOURS :-)
I love all your memories of those home made turkeys and pie and gravy AND the sndsiches, oh so yummy. I love sandwiches too. The nly time we had sandwiches for dinneer is on Fridays sometimes when we had grilled cheese and tomato soup - no meat on Friday for us strict Italian Catholics. Amen. :-)

And I understand about your computer. I got infected with a horrid virus on mine byh opening an email and it had porn on it - I was horrified. I had to spend money to have DELL tech support clear the viruses and infections. I caught 110, yes, one hundred and ten!!!!!
HAve alovey Sunday
Love you lots
Gail
peace......

Happy Thanksgiving, Bernie :)

I had to remove a follower recently and luckily another blogger helped me or that awful picture would be up there still! Why do people do that? He left me a really sick comment, too. So I can understand why you removed this widget if it happens to you a lot.
I hope you enjoy your weekend, Bernie!

Happy Thanksgiving, Bernie. Sorry to hear about the Follower problem, you did right to get rid of the widget. There are some sick minds around these days. I never look at mine, erm, I mean the widget not the sick mind ... grins ... but will go check right now. Have a wonderful turkey dinner. Hugs.

Happy Thanksgiving, Bernie. We have no such wonderful day here in the Netherlands. Too bad, because I do love turkey and leftovers.

I will remember to check my followers. I can't believe there are such rotten people out there.

I think we in the US should share the Thanksgiving of Canada and have our regular one in November as well. You could do the same there too. Two big Thanksgiving dinners a month apart.

Happy Thanks Giving.
it is always good to look back on happy memories of childhood and yours sounded very loving and secure.

I am sorry that you had bother with the flower widget.
If I get anything like that happen with mine, I wouldn't know how to delete them as I am totally dependant on my son for all technical things. Lets hope.....

Hi Berni,
your new blog is just beautiful...what will we do without our followers widget?
Oh well, I guess we are going to be forever at the mercy of the evil doers in the world...they must do their best to ruin things.
Anyway, I do like your new blog.
Love ya,

I forgot... today I was watching The Rangers Baseball and The Cowboys and I thought about all of you who have Cancer. There was pink everywhere.

I told my husband what you had mentioned in one of your blogs. He agrees with you.

Bernie, I hope your Thanksgiving weekend has been very special. I enjoyed hearing about your thanksgiving meal memories. I like the dinner but since I've been the chief cook I love the next day even more - turkey buns are so tasty - especially with stuffing and cranberry sauce added. Happy Thanksgiving!

Glad you had a wonderful day Bernie.

(Sorry about your widget. I don't know if there's a way of barring these individuals, but there ought to be.)

I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving, Bernie, and your memories took me down memory lane too!

And I do sandwiches a lot for dinner! I love left-overs!

I tried to get here the other day when I saw this on my sidebar, but Blogger wasn't cooperating again.

I'll be going away for a few weeks and I think I may just start a whole new blog when I get back at the end of October.
Take care, Bernie.
Love to you,
Eileen
PS ~ that's a shame about your follower list, I guess I should check mine.
