Busy Bernie - But Happy

Hello my friends, I hope you are all enjoying your summer. We have been having heavy rain and many thunder and lightening storms the past few days and between storms we have glorious sunshine. It is hard to explain, but I don't mind the rain or the hot sun.

Since blogger has changed their templates I have been trying to find a wallpaper I like. You all know how much I like pink and I have found one I really like but am still working on making it fit to the new templates. I was spoiled as I really like the wallpaper I had thanks to Cindy of Who, What, Where and When.....but I have no choice but to change it so change it I will. She tried to help me again this evening but we were forced from the phone when another thunder/lightening storm began.

A few weeks ago Holly, from Banner Haus News did posts of the alphabet. Her letters were so pretty that I saved them to my computer so I have put my initial up and will leave it this way for a while. I knew I would use these beautiful letters sometime. My eyes and "brain" are burning trying to figure all this out. I was spoiled as I really liked my blog the way it was thanks to Cindy, I have found another pink wallpaper I really like though and.....eventually I will have it the way I want it.....I hope! Thanks to Wanda I was able to remove the tag, honestly Wanda I just kept removing gadgets until the tag disappeared.......I am so blessed with friends who don't mind helping a slow learning blogger.

I have been busy since Fallon left. I hear from her every day either by text or e-mail. She is having a wonderful time. She says Taylor Swift rocks......I am so happy for her but I miss her and am looking forward to her coming home. She is growing up so fast. I had my hair cut and streaked, lunch with friends, doctor's appointment, test, and visits from good friends. I think that is my favorite thing about summer, people stop in more often than through the winter months. I love sharing a cup of coffee with friends, I smile each time the door bell rings as I wonder who may be on the other side of the door. The surprise is nice but oh the company is better as we sit on the deck catching up on each others news. (My nephew offered to fix my deck next summer).... ..yay!

My friend Avinash and I had lunch at Red Lobster on Thursday. She is an old friend from GE days. She looks absolutely wonderful, I realized how much I missed her great smile as we laughed through lunch.

My meeting with Dr. John's patient went well, in fact she stopped in this afternoon with a page full of questions she had written down. Somehow today she seemed stronger, more in control and even better she seemed eager to begin treatment and fight this horrible disease. I was so pleased with her attitude, although I know from experience it is so easy to be up one day and down the next. Keeping a balance is a real challenge. Somehow I think she will do very well with the hand she has been dealt. She has good doctors and the love and support of family and friends.

Tomorrow I am babysitting a friends 10 month old baby. I am so looking forward to having her, she is beautiful and nothing brings me calm and happiness faster than a baby. They are unconditional love and it is impossible not to smile and enjoy the moment while holding a baby. I plan on taking her for a walk to the park if it is nice outside, if it rains then we'll just play with my tupperwear on a blanket on the carpet in the livingroom. I do keep a bag of toys for the little ones when they visit so I have lots of toys and stuffed animals for her to play with.

Have a great week my friends..........God Bless and many, many hugs :-)

Woo Hoo, you are indeed a very busy little bee, buzz buzz. Thanks for the update. I think your blog looks nice sweetie. Take care, love you.

The initial is lovely! You are clever, Bernie changing everything round on your blog. You are streets ahead of me when it comes to technical things. I tend to *leave well alone!*

I am so pleased that Dr John's patient seems very positive about her treatment. I think that does help..... and yes, there are up and down days. I feel she is lucky to have had you to help her. I wish her well.

I am pleased that your nephew will be repairing your decking next year.

I was holding a very small baby the other day...... only 8lbs (at 5 weeks old!) The baby boy of a work mate. I had forgotten just how tiny babies can be. Hope that you enjoy your baby sitting.

Your post reveals that you are a very happy and busy lady who enjoys life to the full. :-)

Bernie, I just woke up and came to see if you had any luck, we did accomplish some things, the 3 colums, hope you are feeling better tomorrow, so sad to hear about your friend, I am glad she has you in her corner.

I'm having a bit of difficulty with the templates myself.
On mine, I was hoping for a Luther nailing theses on church doors kinda look. I ended up with a note on a garden shed telling everyone I've gone on a liquid lunch.
I had a parchment look, but it seemed harder to read somehow. And white is too harsh on the eyes.

You certainly know how to keep yourself busy Bernie. Glad you are happy :0)

I'm sorry you had to change your template, Bernie, I really liked those pink flowers. I had trouble reading the white text on a darker background but struggled through. So pleased to hear that (a) Fallon is enjoying life and (b) that you don't mind about the weather! It's gone cold here and is quite wet, and my joints are complaining. Have a good rest of the week.

I'm glad you're doing so well and are enjoying your life. Your blog is like a breath of fresh air. You seem to be always in a good mood. That's great.

Good Morning Bernie!
I just knew that you were busy. I could just feel it! I think we are all busy during the summer months.
I was so surprised when I saw your new background. I said "OOoo Bernie!, You've been busy!".
I have thought of changing mine but I just can't do it yet. Maybe come winter time.
I know that you will enjoy your babysitting time. I remember Sarah loving my plastic ware with wooden spoons. I have a picture somewhere of her with it! Have fun and I am glad that you are well! Love Di ♥

Your blog looks very good Bernie, but I know what you mean by it not being exactly what you want. I'm not as pleased with my blog now either, but it wll do.

For a few days now we have been waking to dense fog, high temps and then rain! But, the veg. garden is benefiting! Would like to see some cheerful sunrises though!

I wish you many happy hours with your contemplating -- so to speak. :)

Wow, Bernie, you are a busy lady. If you need any help with applying a background to the new blogger draft, just ask. I've doddled around with many things and have figured out how to bypass some of the issues :)

Well Bernie, you have been busy. Your blog looks great. Enjoyed reading about your Fallon and how hard it is to see them grow up and move on. I am still trying to let go, but after some spiritual counseling from a dear friend I am doing a lot better. Raining and storming here too. We sure need the rain though. Blessings

Oh Bernie, I am feeling your pain on the new blogger setup...I find it much more limiting than the old one..I have fought to have the best of both worlds till I am exhausted...I was getting down right compulsive about it...
Don't mess with a girl's blog, right. Right!!!
I bet you are upset, cuz your blog was so beautiful. I like the new one too. I just read your blog and had to chuckle, cause I know how you feel. I hope you have a great day. Stop in and see me...you have been coming by often and I appreciate it. Others have fallen by the wayside, guess I did'nt have much interesting to say..I am hoping the new doc we see today will be able to help me.
blessings, my friend

Bernie, I'm stunned by your new look - it's the best I've seen! Your colors are so welcoming and just seem like YOU! I've been wanting to do the three column, so may give it a try soon.

You lead such a full life, and I always enjoy hearing about it.

I like your initial "B". I know you'll figure out how to do your new wallpaper. I've had the same one forever, as my sister helped me with it and I don't want to try changing.

You are busy. I enjoyed hearing about the rain and sunshine. Probably offers a break between busy and calm.

I see the new templates, too. Probably need an overhaul on my site, but I'm so far behind on catching up with everything, doesn't seem right to spend time on that.

Enjoy your days.

Hey, Bernie! Have a great time with the little one. I just left my grands after five days with them, and it was so HARD to leave!

Lots of rainy-sunny days here in Central Florida too. I love it.

Hi Bernie! Your blog looks just wonderful! I am so NOT creative and I envy anyone that has blog headers with script writing and special sayings...I can't figure out how to do all that special stuff, so I just have to go for different backgrounds each month to keep my bog interesting and eye catching..lol, oh I love the rain too, as children we would lay on our tummy and look out the living room window as it rained, my mother would be sitting in her chair staring out the window too, I think she would be thinking of Holland and her family....and the rain she missed so much in Holland. (sigh) Rain to me is so peaceful even thunder storms, it is a sense of strength and gentleness all wrapped up together. Sounds like you had a wonderful week and wonderful visits coming up. UMMM love those babies....! I think I will kiss one tonight too!

It can be so laborious to try to change up your blog and get it "just right." Sometimes it is like one of those "sliding tiles" puzzles -- we no sooner get one part fixed than another one goes bonkers.

I love the initial!! Sounds like you have lots of wonderful things happening in your life! So glad you were able to support and encourage that patient!!!

I loved your post. And I did love the B. I would love to check out that site. I know what you mean about all this stuff. I have been trying to figure out today how to do a link in a comment. Still can't get it to work.
BTW thanks for coming over my blog. All the encouraging words Bless me so.
I have had inter-net problems since last week so not much posting and very little surfing or commenting going on here. I am praying when I move that we will have much better success!
Hope your Thursday is Blessed.

I LOVE your new look on the blog..and especially the letter header...it is wonderful!
I am so glad you are having a summer full of visitors and fun.
We too are eating up summer with a spoon, but have been working too hard. We vowed to finish renovating the house across the street this summer instead of doing bits and pieces every summer...so we have gone at it full sail..unfortunately that means less trips out to the woods for photos and out on the lake to fish. But the house is coming along and is almost done, and hopefully I can post pictures of it soon. We will probably end up renting it out for weekly rentals to folks who may want to stay by our lovely lake for a few days, like a bed and breakfast, but w/o me having to make breakfasts. ha
Take care and nice to hear from you on your blog again.
My annual girlfriend's reunion is in two weeks and I can't wait!

Have a blessed day and rest of your week my friend! Stay safe in those storms

You are a busy lady, Bernie! Your weather sounds a bit like ours, though our storms/rain usually come late in the day. I have another photo I'd like to use for my Header, but I'm terrified to change anything since my last revamp took me awhile to get everything the way I wanted it. Perhaps Lucinda could help you? I'll ask her - do you have room for a Rabbit there?

Bernie,
I'm so happy to meet you! Since this is my first visit I never saw how your blog looked before, but it looks great now.
Thank you for your encouraging message about your friend Cathy. I feel terrible my daughter Heather has her illness, but I'm grateful a transplant is a viable option. I love hearing success stories they really lift my spirits. Things are hopeful with the donor who has stepped forward and I will update my blog as we learn more. Thank you again and take care.

Yes, it is indeed a privilege to have a husband who can do so much around the house. I try not to take him for granted.

have a wonderful day,
