Update and 911

Hello my friends, I know your day was filled of memories of 09/11/01....a horrible day for my American friends and a day the world changed forever. We lost many of our own that day, Canadians that worked in the Twin Towers....so so sad. To me it is also very sad that we still are losing our young men and women today. Will there ever be a time in history where we are not at war? I don't know but I pray that one day all wars come to an end. Just last week I watched on TV 2 funerals of young men, killed in Afghanistan. They were only in their early twenties.....as I have said many times, Life is not fair but it's Still Good.

Thank you for all your prayers and please keep them coming....Kathy called me twice today to update me but I haven't heard from her since 1:30. Lucy's fever had gone down and she is resting and seems comfortable. She is still in ICU. The family had met with her pediatrician and were waiting for a neurologist to view her x-rays, CAT and MRI scans. Apparently Lucy was born with a small birthmark on her head which has grown and became infected.....she may need surgery but Kathy is hoping that will not happen. The good news is that if it is only the infection then the antibiotics she is on should help her, they won't know if it is more than that until they speak to the neurologist. Kathy is very emotional and exhausted but she ask that I thank everyone for their prayers. She has a wonderful and strong faith. I will keep you posted. I wanted to mention the picture I have shown you these past two post was taken on Aug. 26th the day after Lucy was born. I will never forget how happy the family was that day.....a day I always want to remember.

In closing I want to say that all Americans should be very proud today. You are all kind, loving, caring and a very strong people. You all came together with hope and pride on that horrid day, stood together as one......and through your pain reached out and helped one another. God Bless you all and may God Bless your beautiful country.

Good Night my friends and God Bless.............:-) Hugs

Thank you, Bernie, for all your kindness.

There are so many 'battles' in life that draw us together, and now we are drawn together in prayer for Lucy's battle. May God's Healing Touch be upon her, and May His Peace be on her family.
Love and Prayers,
Eileen

Hi Bernie,
I came on to visit you before I go to bed. I was thinking of Baby Lucy constantly. I'm glad there is some indication that her infection is clearing. My heart goes out to her family.
September 11 always brings very strong memories of loss. Thank you for your kind words.

You are right. Today changed the world forever! What is the use of fighting over territory/ religion. I don't see any logic in it whatsoever, but wastage of resources and lives. We have emerged stronger out of this, and will continue to go from strength to strength. Amen!

Bernie, I hope the corner has been turned. I shall keep praying.

Good morning Bernie...
Almost immediately on waking, I thought of Lucy...may she please be better. A sick child is so disturbing, just heart breaking.

Seems the world should be able to find peace for the sake of all children...come together for their welfare...be as respectful and friendly as America and Canada, we are lucky!

I am hoping for the best...I know how all this affects you Bernie, take care and find good in your weekend.

Always,
Wanda

Oh Bernie I will keep hoping and praying for beautiful little Lucy. I almost lost Ginny when she was 11 months old from spinal meningitis. I was in such despair those days. It was horrible. Fortunately she came out of it but has had a few problems from the residual.
I pray that Lucy pulls through and grows up to be a strong and intelligent woman like Ginny!
Love Always, Di

Oh Stillness, I so agree whether we believe in the good guy/bad guy thing, the bottom line is these young people are dying leaving young families, mothers and fathers in deep grief....breaks my heart. I still don't agree with war but then there are many things I don't know that those in power do. I just get frustrated with the uniformed making decisions and spreading untruths......thank you for your prayers for Lucy, she is in a real battle right now. Love you my friend......:-) Hugs

Val, thank you for your prayers, she is still in a battle....Hugs

Jackie, thank you for your prayers, pray has become a part of my day just as often as brushing my teeth. I only wish I would hear from someone today to let me know how Lucy is doing. I am not going call Kathy's cell as it will be turned off if she is in ICU with Lucy and I know how tired she is. I am just going to keep praying until Lucy goes home safe, and healthy. Luv you.....Hugs

I hope the baby continues to improve and that they reach a diagnosis soon...nothing is worse than not knowing what is happening.
9-11 was a horrible vicious crime and one that none of us (from any country) will forget. The families of those lost will never be the same, either. So much courage was shown by the survivors.
I hope you are feeling well, Bernie and enjoying the beautiful autumn weather. You are in my thoughts lots!

Bernie said...

Joan, we are all still praying for Lucy, haven't heard anything today and don't want to bother them as I know they are emotionally exhausted and spent.
Our weather is beautiful today, enjoy your Saturday....:-) Hugs
