Good Bye Mr. Senator

I am a Canadian, I have no voice, no vote in America. I do have a word for a man I have never met and only know him through his words, actions and family. The world has lost a great man today, a beautiful human being who suffered great and devastating tragedies during his lifetime. He set an example for all us on how to live a happy and full life in spite of what sadness we may have to endure. He was not perfect and made mistakes, he was human. His greatest gift of service to others is a lesson we all could learn from.

Good Bye Mr. Senator, you will be missed.

Hello Bernie
So glad you posted this!
Thank you!

Teddy Kennedy was a hero in my eyes and I will miss him so very much!
He was a champion to so many people!

I was up late last night when I got an email from NPR about Kennedy passing away.
I turned on the TV and watched for a while on CNN about him & his life.
I went to bed shedding many tears!

RIP Senator Teddy Kennedy!
You were a very good man!

A warm hug for you, Bernie!
Take care!

Margie:)

Margie, I too have shed tears and my eyes have been watering as I watch CNN today. I did not sleep much last night as I was watching CNN at the time his death was announced. He had tragic and devastating issues in his life two words that should not be in the same sentence as his service to others goes beyond any words I can even think of, I feel he is now at piece with all his family who have gone before him....Hugs my friend, xo

I was privileged to visit that home in Hyannis Port a few years ago. I love New England and felt honored to see the home. Got to visit the church the Kennedy's attended on Nantucket Island. That was quite a family.

QMM I too have seen the home in Hyannis Port, I would like to see the church from which his funeral is being held. Growing up in New Brunswick, we would spend our summers at Old Orchard Beach in Maine and my father's Aunt lived in Boston, it was then that my dad took us to Hyannis Port. I have never forgotten it and I guess I like my father loved this family. They really served their country well...........:-) Hugs

Hi Di, he seem to bare his pain with such grace as we didn't hear to much about it. I do pray he is at peace with his family in heaven. I am sure that is where he is........:-) Hugs

Well, while you were having your noisy yesterday morning, I was enjoying the quiet lakefront! It was such a change from our busy street.

I enjoyed your post about your buffet and all the memories it held. You are blessed to have the pieces and blessed to have a place to display them!

I think tomorrow I'll feel caught up with all the villagers. Now if I can just catch up with myself!

Missed you much!

How sweet of you to post a tribute to him!
He did give much of his life to public service, I am sure at the cost of his personal life and privacy.
It is a loss.
I know he would have said that he lived a full 77 years, though.
And isn't that what everyone wants?

Hi Joan, I really appreciated his service to the poor and all loyalty he showed to his family. A wonderful man.....Hugs

Bernie, I got your note on my blog, thank you so much for your kind comment.

I agree with the comment here that said The Kennedy Family was as close to royalty as we will probably ever get. I think I've read almost every book and article I could get my hands on about this family, it was an obsession for awhile. So many tragedies they had to endure. I have always admired the strength they had to carry on in the face of adversity, and I have always admired how they all have a great sense of loyalty to their family name.

And I have always, always had a great admiration for the women in the Kennedy family most of all.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Kennedy family at this time, and may Ted Kennedy rest in peace.

Hi Eileen, gosh it's good to hear from you, I miss you dearly.
I too have read many books on the Kennedy family, and the women were able to handle things a lot different than I think I ever could. It was the giving back, and the way they all reached out to others in need in spite of their own pain that I so admired. They easily could of lived a life of leisure, yet they all chose in their own way to help the less fortunate. Many people will miss this man and all he has done for them no matter what race, creed or position they happen to be. Take care Eileen and please don't stay away so long, it's not the same without you.......:-) Hugs

Hi Kay, it was from my heart. I don't like to say anything political being that I am from Canada but I have grown to love and admire the family and the Senator for all they have done to help the less fortunate....glad you understood my heart.....Hugs
