Keeping Up With Wanda

Hello my friends, I do hope you all had a great day. It is raining here at the moment and quite cool but we did have sunshine most of the day.

Okay, I am not a poet but rather than feel guilty, I am going to give it a go.

My friend Wanda, has shown me the way
Feeling guilty, I decided to play.

Love to blog, its time well spent
No matter the issue, we all can vent.

Knowing that you all do care
Makes it easy and fun to share.

Now I will list 7 things about me:

1) I have been retired for 2 years
2) Since my husband has passed I have been engaged several times but have never had
courage to jump the broom
3) I was Miss New Brunswick for the 1970 Winter Carnival
4) I won a Creative Writing Contest......over 20 years ago
5) My passion is reading, I love spiritual books
6) I once worked for a funeral home holding grief classes
7) I collect watches and have over 40 of them

I am unable to post my favorites tomorrow.....I don't have a camera. Nobody has seen it. I even checked with the RCMP here in Morinville in case some one turned it in but not yet anyway, they have my name and phone number if it shows up. I do hope it shows up as I have a get together with 20 people Saturday night. One of our friends is moving away on Sunday and I so want a picture of her before she goes. Also I am leaving on the 14th of July for 2 weeks, home with my family, gotta have pictures there. I have decided to keep looking and if I don't find it I will buy a new one when I go home. My brother helped me buy this one several years ago so I know he will get me started with a new one. There is no point in getting upset about it, that will not produce a camera!

Am off to read favorite blogs and comments....Good Night and God Bless :-) Hugs

Sorry to hear you have lost your camera, more sad that someone finding it didn't hand it in. I pray it may still turn up.
Lovely to read all the little insights of your make up.
You have a wonderful brother, who I am sure will help you again to get a camera. Brothers are wonderful like that. My brother will be 70 this month. I don't see much of him as he lives in Cyprus.
Love Granny

Hi Granny, oh yeah I do have a wonderful brother and we are very close. I will be staying with him and his wife when I go home, they have a lovely spot on the ocean where they spend summers....I love it there, he will help me sort my camera problem out but in the meantime I am still hoping for my Canon to show up. Take care my friend....:-) Hugs

Wow Bernie, believe you me, I don't think I am capable of even that much poetry. But if I can ever manage that much I am going to shout out from the roof top :D

And I am so sorry to know you misplaced your camera! I was so looking forward to more pictures of your hanging baskets and barbeque! But like you rightly said, feeling bad and upset won't get it back.

Hi Stillness, I am playing around with my template.
I feel bad about my camera but I still am hoping through the goodness of people it will find its way back to me. Have a great day my friend....:-) Hugs

Good morning Bernie...I noticed your blog immediately...it has an open gentle pressence about it...sorry about the camera...maybe God thinks you need a new one and he gave yours to someone of lesser means...or it's hiding at home somewhere. :)
Engaged several times and a Miss Brunswick...I love knowing that...isn't it hard to tell some things...not wanting to appear like patting your own back sorta...
anyway we'll keep up with each other...like with awards...they are fun and I will gratefully take them if given, but passing them on is too hard, so I will break the rules and maybe go to jail...I prefer sweet comments...
Bernie I love time pieces also... have 19 clocks and 10 watches myself...and I didn't win but was in a Miss Loveland contest once... wonder what else we have in common...I just know I enjoy the sharing of our thoughts and lives with each other...Have a pleasant day Bernie.

Wow, a new blog look, new facts + a poem = wow again! You have been one busy lady, Bernie.

I'm also sorry about your camera...it's so frustrating not to find something or just to even wonder what happened to it.

It will be exciting to see both your collection as well as Wanda's, of time pieces, maybe on a Friday Favorite when your camera is found or a new replaces it??

You are a great poet...there is just so much untapped talent around here!

blessings with hugs,

marcy

I see the change alright! For a second I thought I was elsewhere! Hope you didn't have major problems bringing about this change!

Let's hope for the best as far as your camera is concerned.

Good Morning Bernie,
I see that you got your pink background! I thought that I was in the wrong place! I was so hoping that you would find your camera. Some times it's not losing the item that's the hard part, but just the wondering of what happened to it that's frustrating! I once lost a one carrot diamond ring for over a year. It turned up way up high on a shelf that I wasn't able to see the top of. Yes I am horrible about cleaning above my head! Perhaps your camera will turn up too. Your poem skills were pretty impressive for not wanting to compose one Bernie. And I found your seven things very enlightening! It sounds like you have a lot more stories we'd enjoy hearing! Have a good weekend Bernie!

Oh my goodness! Engaged several times! Wow! Good for you!

So sorry to hear about your camera! That is so very frustrating but you have the right attitude. Sometimes when I lose something, I am paralyzed from accomplishing anything else but looking--in the same places over and over again. I am often more likely to find what is lost when I give up and stop looking. I hope yours is found. If not, the new camera will probably have some new features that you love. We are so blessed that we can afford to buy a new one.

Blessings on you.

I like your new look, Bernie, but I thought I was directed to the wrong place at first! LOVING THE PINK!!

I thought your poem was great! And I thought your list was great! I like these awards because I love learning little facts about everyone that we might not otherwise ever hear.
Engaged A FEW times! I'll bet that's because you had such a wonderful marriage, and that might be the same reason for breaking the engagements too.
Very interesting, Bernie, and I can see why you won an award for writing!

I'm sorry about the camera, the worst is the pictures you've already taken are lost, and now not able to take in the interim, pictures lost again. But I agree with Wanda, it's for a reason.
I hope it turns up.

I agree with Wanda too about the awards, I do love reading other people's lives, and I do love these little lists that go along with the awards, but the choosing one above the other is just not nice. I think you all deserve it. I'm going to have to either break the rules and award everyone, or break the rules and award no one, or scale back on following blogs!
(I hope the Captain of the Award Police doesn't come back to read here [Marcy])!

This was fun, Bernie (except for the camera)!
All the best,
Eileen

Good Morning Wanda, I wanted something pink, reminds me I still have to do a tag for Diana. We do seem to have many things in common although my Miss New Brunswick was just for a Winter Carnival but it was fun. I do get embarassed about the engagements as when I look back I was just trying to fill a void and at that time I didn't like being on my own. It took a while but I don't mind at all now and have even learned to enjoy my own company. I do have so many watches (I even forget sometimes) but only 2 of them are expensive the rest just match my clothes LOL, I too have many clocks, I have always like time pieces. You know Wanada it does feel boastful when we share about ourselves, that is one of the reasons I hesitated but I enjoy reading about everyone else. I just don't find myself that interesting.
Have a wonderful 4th of July my friend.....:-) Hugs

Hi Marcy, I have been trying to put a pink background on my blog for awhile now and Stillness told me how to do it. I love pink!
I am trying to follow blog rules Marcy and have found it so amusing as you gently remind us all what we are suppose to be doing. I have never been one to follow, always marched to my own drum but I enjoy everything you and the others do so very much...the least I can do is try......Happy July 4th my friend.....:-) Hugs

Hi Stillness, it really looks different doesn't it. Thank you for all your help. You are a real sweetie.
I have not given up on my camera just yet, if someone has it they will return it I'm sure.
Lots of love....:-) Hugs

Diana, I love reading your comments, you always make me laugh. I will enjoy sharing my life stories with you but I'm not sure you will enjoy them. I have had a good life and have so many blessings which I never take for granted...learned that the hard way. Have a wonderful 4th July my friend......:-) Hugs

Hi Brenda, yeah I have been engaged several times but not real proud of it, I prefer my life now and all the calm. I still hope my camera finds it way back to me somehow but if it doesn't you are right we are blessed that we can buy another one.....I do hope you and your family have a wonderful
4th of July weekend....:-) Hugs

Hi Eileen, so far I have had a great life with many challenges. It has been through these challenges that I was able to grow and learn so many things which I would of missed otherwise.
I love awards but just couldn't bring myself to choose one friend over another, I also love reading everyone's list and tags so have honestly done my best to follow all the rules but hesitated on some of them. It has never been important for me to be like everyone else it has been important to me just to "be". I wish you and your family a happy
July 4th weekend, and great pool weather.....:-) Hugs

Hi Bernie -
I like the 'pink' back ground. :-)

Sorry to hear about your camera. I commented on another post, now I don't know which one. eesh!!! I was saying "hi" and "thank you" for adding my blog to those you follow and to tell you I added you to my blog list, as well. :-)

I like the 7 things you wrote about yourself. Wonderful.

Love to you
Gail
peace......

I feel like an "echo" here - but I, too, thought I might be in the wrong place. I like the change! I fooled around changing my headings this morning, but now I'm tempted to do the whole THING over!

I've been taking pictures with my cell phone and the camera part of it went on the blink right in the middle of my "Grandmother Retreat"! So I can commiserate with you! My husband and I exchanged phones until we get to pick NEW ones the end of August....

Bernie said...

Hi Gail, pink is my favorite color, just figured out how to out it on my home page. Welcom back?
......:-) Hugs

Bernie said...

Rebecca, I would rather give something away then loose it but there is not much I can do now, should of been more careful in the first place. Glad you like the pink, I love the color. Have a wonderful 4th July.....:-) Hugs

Bernie, you don't have to apologize for using the wrong name, I do that all the time (even with my own kids!), and I'm always, ALWAYS using the wrong spelling of words (where/wear, here/hear), and sometimes I leave out whole thoughts in a sentence and then the sentence makes absolutely no sense! I guess our minds are racing and finger too, and it just gets jumbled up.
I'm so glad I'm not alone in this!
That was sweet of you to make an extra trip to me!

Eileen, your a sweetie. I just felt bad when I noticed it...I am sure I have done the exact same things you have mentioned and more but I know we all do the best we can. If someone doesn't like our Grammar then we will just give that problem right back to them, after all we don't have the problem reading it so why should anyone else. Take care and I hope you and your family have the best fourth of July ever.....:-) Hugs

Maybe it is God's way of giving you a new camera. I LOVE mine, so if you buy one and love the quality of my photos on the blog, it is a Panasonic Lumix 18X zoom with 10 megapixels...
Have safe travels my friend!
