Sunny, Fun Tuesday

Hello my friends, I hope you all had a wonderful day, I had so much fun but I'm afraid the diet went by the wayside.....Oh well back on it tomorrow. We had the most beautiful weather today, sunny and warm.

When I awoke this morning I noticed it had rained sometime through the night as the driveway had deep puddles throughout, I reached for my paper I and couldn't help but deep breath the air as it had a beautiful fresh clean smell and of course I could smell the flowers, they looked so beautiful after the rain and now were enjoying the sunshine.... perfection!

After breakfast I dressed and went to Curves then came home to sit on the deck with my Tim's coffee waiting for my friend Terry. She wasn't long and it was so good to see her. I enjoyed my coffee as she grabbed bottled water from the fridge and relaxed after her 2 and a half hour drive. She loved my flowers and couldn't believe how everything had grown especially the hanging baskets.

We then left to go into the city as she had to pick up some parts for her husband and also wanted to buy a few things for the grandchildren. Now this lady has everything imaginable for these kids from cribs, car seats, highchairs, swings, and playpens there is absolutely nothing her daughter needs to bring when she visits her mother, not even diapers, I am serious she only has to bring the kids. I enjoy watching my friends face light up as she speaks about the kids visit. Her kids and her grandchildren are her life. This weekend is Father's day so their 3 children and their spouses will be home. Terry's husband, Rick, and the boys are all going golfing on Saturday, and Terry has all the meals planned, every breakfast and each supper. She is the most organized person I know, and I know they will all have a wonderful time together. They play many board games during the evenings and everyone will enjoy the only 2 grandchildren. Terry has one son and one daughter who has yet to start a family of their own so all attention goes to beautiful Sierra and Brody. They are such a beautiful family and I am blessed to have them in my life.

Terry leaves at eleven tomorrow morning for the airport, it is a 2 hour drive from Morinville. Danielle is picking me up at 1 o'clock to attend our favorite patients funeral. I am going to try to go to Cures when Terry leaves and make it home to shower and be ready when Danielle arrives. I should be okay, as I can complete my work out in half an hour.

Terry and I went to East Side Mario's for dinner and it was so good. We had garlic shrimp for an appetizer, and Cesar Salad with a toasted chicken sandwich on a different kind of bread. I am not sure what the name of it was but it was so delicious. I didn't have dessert but I did have a bite (or 2) of Terry's, it was so good I can still feel the melting ice cream and whip cream in my mouth. Like I really needed that eh! They weigh me again on Thursday, wish me luck though I really don't deserve it. I knew better but felt it was okay to celebrate "the joy of food". It's okay I will work it off, it will take just an extra couple of days.

We called our best friend Annie in Nova Scotia tonight. I will see her next month when I am home, and she is coming here the first of October. We are travelling to Terry's to celebrate her birthday. It should be lots of fun as Terry has many brothers and sisters coming from NB. and there are 4 of us "old school friends" who will sleep in their 5th wheel and just keep the party going. Now I am not boasting but we have been known to put together pretty keen skits by time.

I bought new sneakers today to wear at Curves. They don't like us to wear anything off the street into the gym area and I don't blame them. Anyway I was able to get a pair of Nike's for $50. I will just keep them in the car and carry them in with me and change there.

Terry is in the guest room reading as I am typing on the computer. We are talking back and forth to each other but I can tell she is getting sleepy and it won't be long before she is off to dreamland. I don't think I will long following her as I have had a busy day as well.

All in all a wonderful day my friends and I am so thankful to have shared it with one of my best friend's in the world. Thank you Terry, you are one of my many blessings.

Am off to read my favorite blogs and comments........Good Night and God Bless

Good morning Bernie...
Your posts are so soothing to me...they go PERFECT with my morning coffee...I feel I've known you forever...I should have typed purrr-fect like Annette...that is her cat Bernie...BTW thank you for your sweet comments to her and me!

You not only have a busy day ahead planned...your summer seems to hold quite a bit of planned outings for you too...not to mention all the unplanned visits you will have from your many friends.

It rained here overnight as well...
prolonged rain periods usually bring down numerous dead water soaked tree branches and bring up numerous mushrooms...I guess that could be a post I could do in the future. :)

I need to get ready for the day...bird feeders are near empty and some benches need cleaned...I always wait until after the heavy pollen season ends before cleaning anything outside!

Enjoy your morning coffee with Terry and have a good workout Bernie.
Smile and take care!...Wanda

Thinking of you today with funeral and all. Glad you are having/had a good time with your friend. I'm afraid compared to her I'm not a very prepared grandmother! I hardly have room for my own stuff - let alone all the paraphernalia that go with raising kids today! Be well, my friend.

Although I know what you meant when you wrote that Terry had to buy parts for her husband, it was pretty cute to imagine your friend Terry buying a finger, some extra hair or a kidney for her husband...:o)

Bet that rain did wonders for your beautiful, secret (because you won't take a picture for us) plants. No matter how much we water here, there is such a difference when it rains, it's as if the plants and veggies are just jumping for joy!

Hope you thoroughly enjoy your time with your friend!

blessings and hugs,

marcy

Sounds like such a wonderful, happy day.
Time spent with a best friend really does a soul good! And you sound like you have some happy plans coming up too!

I remember in an earlier post you thought you might lose some of your plants to the frost. Did they bounce back?

And I don't think one meal is going to tip the scale. I think you might be surprised to see it won't affect your weight. Now, if you kept making excuses to eat 'just this one treat' the way I do, then you'd have a problem!

I'll be thinking of you today going to the Memorial service.
Take care, Bernie.
All the best,
Eileen

What a lovely friend you have in Terry...
I smelled the rain as I read your post. No, it's not raining here....I smelled yours. You write so well. I will be thinking of you at the service for your favorite patient. That has been weighing on my heart and mind. My prayers will be with his family and with you....part of his family forever.
Smiles from Jackie

Hi Bernie,
Glad to hear your flowers are growing so well - I can picture you enjoying your coffee along with their beauty on your deck. I travel at least once a year with a group of my "girlfriends," too - this year in Sept the 5 of us are going to the Upper Peninsula where my best friend, Mary, has her family cottage. (All of us retired teachers - we are a noisy and naughty group!) Now that you have Nike workout shoes you must remember their slogan - "Just Do It!"

Good Morning Wanda, Thank you for your kind words my friend, it's so easy to comment on both Annette's and your post, to me, you both are the nicest people I have met since I started blogging a few months ago. I really enjoy them.
I do have a busy day ahead but am re-energerized for what I am going to do today. Terry's visit and perspective helps me so much. I am blessed with a beautiful family and friends. Life is good.
I know what you mean about the pollen as everyday I wipe down my deck furniture as they always have a film of dust on them.
Am off to start my day, Curves I am looking forward too, the funeral not so much but I know it's something I have to do. It will be sad but necessary....have a great day my friend...:-) Hugs

Hi Eileen, let's hope you are right about last night's meal. Yes I am blessed to have my best friend from school live close by and to think we grew up 3000 miles from here, who would of ever thought? I picked the dead heads off the plants that got frost and I think they are going to be okay. Thank you for thinking of me today.

Barb, I bet your get togethers with your teacher friends are as much fun as I have with my school friends. Time passes so fast, none of us can believe we are as old as we are..LOL Terry and I enjoyed our breakfast on the deck this morning, I soooo love it out there, so calm surrounded by chirping birds and flower smells. I heard there was a tornado in Colorado, was it near you? Have a great day my friend.....:-) Hugs

It felt so good to know, you had an amazing day with your friend and have so many plans up your sleeve. Your feel good attitude is slowly rubbing off on me too, and I thank you for the same. Each day, by being you, you teach me to be happy with what I have, and not unhappy with what I don't. You're and Wanda are like grandmothers I never had, thank you so much :)

What a wonderful day out with a good friend.
Every July, I have a "girlfriends" reunion with 7 of my girlfriends who all grew up in the same neighborhood as me when we were little. I cannot wait...we have done it now for 5 years in a row and we all have such anticipation about it every year.
Pure joyous friendship!

Hi Bernie,
Glad you enjoyed your day, and that you are sticking with going to Curves. Did you know that Avon sells Curves Shoes, and other things? I just discovered that since my daughter started selling Avon last month. They are so cool! They probably have an Avon book or two at the Curves where you go...I used to always see them there.

Thinking of you and the funeral today...((((Hugs)))) T

Hi Terri, yes I had a real fun day, and no I didn't know Avon sold items for Curves.(It's been years since I've seen a book) I just bought a T shirt and skort from Curves on Friday, it's a really cute outfit and comfortable to work out in. I will check and see if there is a book there tomorrow. Hope all is well with you my friend....Hugs

Annette, thank you for thinking of me. I had talked myself into going, then staying home so many times (I really don't like funerals) but I was so pleased how everything went today. I was so glad I attended, I don't know why I try to talk myself out of going as I always go. I think it's important to show support to the family...they were wonderful.
.......:-) Big Hugs
