Brrrrrrrr..........It's So Cold

Hello my friends, hope you all had a good day. (Sorry Joan, I read what you went through) but I know you made the best of it my friend. It is very cold here and it rained most of the day. Great for the farmers but is really playing havoc with my arthritis. I am a bit concerned we may get frost tonight, I had to turn my furnace on today as the house felt really cold.

Thank you all for your prayers for Allan and Peg. They worked, Allan is still in ICU but they have taken him off the respirator and he is breathing really well on his own. I do believe prayers work!

I watched the French Open Tennis Semi-finals this morning and oh what a great match. Anyway Roger Federar won in 5 sets. I really enjoyed this and was so involved watching it that I forgot about my aches and pains. Love it.

As soon as the Tennis was over I headed for Curves and my workout. I am catching on to the machines and how to work them so I enjoyed my work out even more today. The supervisor who has corrected me throughout the week when I was doing an exercise wrong was even impressed with my work out today. Sometimes "things" just click as it did for me today

When I finished at Curves I went to Tim's drive through I got a coffee and bagel to bring home to enjoy. It was raining very hard, so as soon as I came in I lit a fire in my over used fireplace (sound familiar Barb) and enjoyed my coffee and toasted bagel gazing at my fire.

I then read my newspaper and talked to Terry for half an hour when she called to inform me about Allan. I could feel her relief and could tell she was feeling more positive about the situation today.

Did any of you see on the news today the story of a 4th grader attending her last day of school and looked up to see her Dad at the door, who had just arrived home from Iraq? The little girl started crying and shaking as she made her way to her dad and he was crying as he held out his arms to her. I sat here with tears streaming down my face, happy tears to see a family united again. I pray he will not have to go back so he can stay with the family who loves him so much.

My flowers look so bright and fresh as I checked them today, the rain has done them good......hopefully no frost

For supper I had salad, and heated up the rest of my meatloaf. I have set a goal to loose 2 pounds a week and I made my goal for this week today. I am very pleased, but I never did have a problem losing weight it's keeping it off that has always been my downfall. I find it easy when I set a goal and am motivated knowing I am going home mid July to see family and old friends.

Just a quiet relaxing day for me, a day I have used to recharge and enjoy the luxurly of having the choice to sit home by the fire with a good book. I am truly blessed.

Off to read favorite bolgs and comments..........Have a great weekend my friends,
Good Night and God Bless.....:-)

Yes, it has turned cold here also. I am back to the hottie bottle, as the sudden cold after the hot weather, makes my bones worse. I had trouble getting onto my pins this morning, hence I am late and slow at getting going.
David is just doing me some toast and marmalade and coffee. I have written about him today, as he is quite wonderful... don't tell him I said so!!!

Take special care of yourself Bernie. The changing weather demands extra care and caution. Keep yourself warm and have warm stuff like tea, hot chocolate and soups.

It's nice to know that Allen is getting better. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Take care and loads of love :)

Dear Bernie, I think you should take before and after pix of yourself after you've met your goal! We have a thing we do at our Curves. Every time a trainer corrects us on a machine, we have to say "Thank You, you're beautiful!" I said prayers for your friends, hope all stays well for them!

I'm having lots of trouble with blogger...it's knocking me out of sites, so I will hurry to post this (sometimes, it won't let me post a comment at all either, if I get that far).

Will try to get back and make a comment...have been praying about all the pople you mentioned and you, of course, my friend!

blessings,

Good morning Bernie...Well first you made me smile about Allan and Peg and then you brought tears to my eyes...reading about the little girl and her dad...that must have been a tearful reunion...

Mornings have been chilly here too...but the day warms quickly... will be going up to Alivia's party at 1:00...then tomorrow is my sister Joyce's birthday...She is a year younger than I am.

Nice to hear of your weight loss and the health benefits that come along with it Bernie.

It's 7:30 here and I'm headed outside to check on things...hope you escaped any frost last night.

Keep smiling and take care!...Wanda

So much for global warming, huh?!
It's SO pleasant here in Huron OH where we are conventioning ..... husband will golf this afternoon and the temperatures will be "just right". I may go find downtown Huron where there is supposed to be a town-wide garage sale set up at a beautiful boat dock overlooking Lake Erie. I'll be too late to get the best of the best, but there really isn't anything I'm looking for or need. It will just be interesting.

We aren't getting snow but it is damp and cold again. We will get through it Eileen. Thank you for your kind words, you always sound so kind and postive, I love hearing from you......:-) Hugs

Hi Bernie, I had to look you up after you were kind enough to call on me. It's sky opening time here in the UK. Wet and freezing cold, and my central heating is kaput. Will I survive I ask myself. Enjoyed reading your blog and look forward to reading more.

I feel your cold, we have it too!
It barely made it to 57 degrees today and tonight the wind is strong and cold. I looked at the forecast and it is only supposed to make it to 50's until Wed. and then only to 60!! Where the heck is spring, let alone summer? My poor plants are growing, but ever so slowly!!
I hope the exercise helps your arthritis. They say it will over time, but it is painful to exercise during a flair up. Congrats. on the weight loss. I used to be able to lose it fast, but now I have a hard time getting it off AND keeping it off. (sigh).
Thanks for the support over my loss of capturing the eagle and moose pictures....guess it was just fate. ha I didn't post today, I had a photography class. I will try and post something tomorrow. Have a great Sunday,
(hugs)

Hi Bernie,
I was sure that I left a comment here this morning, but I do not see it. You are right about the cold,,,I say brrrrr too! I have been trying not to let it affect me though, as Molly still needs to go walking, I just dress a little warmer.
Sounds like you are already showing benefits by losing weight. I am sure you will also have a lot of fun and meet some really nice people.

Glad to hear Allen is feeling better too. Stay warm Bernie, I hear it snowed in Calgary, and we are supposed to get some frost tonight. Better cover up your beautiful plants.
((((hugs)))) T

Hi Valerie, Thank you for stopping by. I sorry your weather is as bad as it is here. It is cold and they are calling for frost again tonight. My poor flowers and tomato plants! I hope your central heating is fixed by now. My sister lives in Scotland and it hasn't been very nice there the past couple of days either. Stop by any time, I do love hearing from my blogger friends.....:-) Hugs

Hey Miss Retired One, do you think anyone is getting warm weather? They are calling for frost tonight, I am afraid I may loose my flowers and potato plants. Am happy your flowers are growing.
I am the same, I don't have many problems taking weight off, it's keeping it off. It slowly creeps back on every time. Have a great weekend my friend....:-)Hugs

Bernie said...

Oh Terry I will be heart broken if I loose my flowers and tomato plants, but it has been so cold.
Yes I am enjoying Curves very much, I have lost 2 lbs. this week and that is my goal each week until I lose 15 lbs. It's trying to keep it off that's a problem, always has been.
How are you doing, my fingers were swollen quite badly this morning but are not so bad tonight.
Have a great weekend,....:-)Hugs
