The Most Beautiful Home.........Ever

Hello my friends, hope you all had a wonderful Sunday. I had a very relaxing day full of rest, good food and good reading. It was sunny here today but very windy and the wind was cool.

Now I want to tell you all about the most beautiful house I have ever been in. At my age I have been in many but this one is oh so special. I have told you in an earlier post about my friend Caren, in fact yesterday I posted a picture of her and I. Well after we left the get together at her oldest daughter, Charney's home, we went to dinner at Brewster's in Castle Downs. Not the best place to eat but the company was excellent. Anyway when we left there we went over to Caren's. I had been to the house when they were building it but this was the first time I have been there since it's been finished. I only wish I had taken pictures to show all of you.

OK, first there are 3 driveways, the first one goes to the front door, the second one to the double car garage on the side of the house and the third driveway leads to the the long deck at the back of the house.

Inside everything is new and shiny and decorated like a home you see in magazines. Her colors are my favorites, mostly greens and carmel's. The floors are all granite as are the counter tops and back splashes in the kitchen and bathrooms. I think I counted at least four bathrooms, and the master bedroom was absolutely stunning. It has it's own bathroom of course with a huge soaker tub, a separate steam shower and then a small room where the toilet is. Caren has a huge TV on the wall opposite her King size bed with a beautiful large wooden headboard. Beneath the TV is a fireplace. She also has her own walk in closet with baskets, bins, and shelves. She doesn't think she has enough room for all her clothes but I think really she does. Honestly I could live in her bedroom area alone. Did I mention she has electronic blinds?

The Dining Room is so beautiful, you could entertain royalty there. She has this huge dining room table and you guessed it the top is all granite to match the floor. I don't think 12 strong men could even lift it. I would guess you could sit 12 people around the table and a couple of high chairs for grandchildren. On the walls are large pictures with a leopard look. Her chairs have the most amazing swirl like pattern and high backs, so comfortable. Another room I totally loved.

Her kitchen is beautiful, cherry mahogany cabinets with a beautiful centered island topped by granite. On the other side of this is their Family room. This great room with granite floors has beautiful white leather furniture you can sink into, so comfortable to watch another huge TV hung over the gas fireplace surrounded by bookcases.

As we walked up the stairs I saw these tiny lights on each riser lighting the way. The upstairs is a loft and is huge. Here she has beige carpeting with red leather furniture and another huge TV. This room holds her computer, desk, bookcases and family pictures. Absolutely beautiful.

Her laundry room is bigger than my bathroom, everything so modern, and her second bedroom is made to welcome family, friends, and even holds a place for babies to sleep.

Now I haven't mentioned that the whole house is an open design with large windows in each room, a beautiful view everywhere you look. She is surrounded by trees and foliage and you can hear the birds singing in her yard. I did notice she had a couple of bird feeders and a robin had laid it's nest on top of a ladder on her side deck. It has four eggs in it. Wonderful!

I really haven't done this beautiful home justice trying to describe it to all of you. I only know I love it and am so happy for the wonderful family who live there. They totally deserve this beautiful home, this couple who have worked so hard and have raised two beautiful daughters. and now have 2 precious granddaughters. They have known great joys as well as sadness, but they keep on doing and being the best they can be.

Now we all know a house is just bricks and mortar, it's the people who live in it that make it into a home. These people are warm, funny and loving. They make everyone feel welcome, they only include never exclude. I count them as one of my many blessings since they have come into my life, as I am blessed to be welcomed and included into their family. I wish them only love and happiness in this wonderful home that they had planned and now realize. God Bless you Caren and Boo, I love you.

Tomorrow is my big day, look out Curves here I come. If only it weren't so early in the morning as I am not at my best this time of day. I am looking forward to it though, it's time to start an exercise regime.

I am off to read my favorite blogs and comments.....Good Night my friends and God Bless

So nice to read the description of your new friend's home which sounds more like a palace. They sure are blessed to be able to afford all of that. And the way you describe them, they sure deserve it all :-)

It's so good to see you appreciating the little things in life everyday. So good to know someone like you :-)

Sounds magnificent. A palace of my dreams... until it comes to cleaning it. Possibly your friend has help there, but my Mum always said, you get to know and love your home when you have spent time cleaning in the corners.
Nevertheless, I would still swap my dusty nest for your friends palace.
I am late posting etc this morning, recovering from a busy day yesterday!!!!
Love to read your blog. Hope the Curves visit doesn't leave you too achy.
Love Granny

Good morning Bernie...Your friend's home sounds like a wonderful retreat for them and their family...I have often wished I had brought my camera along...or I forget to take photos...like when my niece was here...enjoying the moment so much it never crossed my mind.

The older variety of gladiolas were tender...some newer ones are hardy...If HARDY they can be left in the ground...plant 5-8 ins. deep depending on size...You can plant annuals close around them...
They may need stakes, but planting deep helps keep them sturdy. If they were TENDER BULBS...you would dig them up 6 weeks after blooming...easier to locate them...more so than waiting til fall...

I need to trim my lilacs and forsythia today...I only yesterday got around to placing cages on the tomatoes for their support...I try to do everything early before the full afternoon sun hits!

Curves is a popular place...I'm sure you will have fun as you exercise and "make new friends"...Smile and Take Care Bernie!!! :) Wanda

Good Morning Bernie, What a house indeed! I imagined it from your description as very large? I wanted to let you know Bernie that the first few times at Curves will most likely be learning all the different machines and how to use them. But once you memorize them you can have fun and really feel the changes in your body. It doesn't take long at all. I won't be able to go back until tomorrow and I will be thinking of you!

I think you did a good job, Bernie...you are a great tour guide. I like the fact that there is human warmth and love in the house, or else it would just be a showcase and not a home. So glad you enjoyed it that much too.

blessings,

marcy

Hi Bernie,
Hope Curves went well! I think I want to be Caran's friend, too! You describe an enchanting, beautiful home - inside and out. I see you're container-gardening and inviting the birds to your deck. Will want to see how your garden grows as the season progresses.

It sounds like a wonderful place! I just bought a new place a couple months ago and got a pretty sweet deal. The housing market made that possible. Lucky lucky. I have 3 bathrooms and 1 has this Steam Shower. Showers have never been so fun!

Hi Bernie,
Your friend's house sounds like something of a "Dream" home, and I loved how you described it. You must start taking your camera with you more often. I try to, but it seems to me, when I don't have it is when I would have had the 'best' pictures.

Let me know how "Curves" goes for you. Are you going to the one in St. Albert? Oh, I think they must have one in Morinville too. I used to go to Curves, and I loved it, and would have joined again, if my friend Barb had not talked me into going to Spa Lady...it was 'special' price...20 dollars down, 20 dollars a month for 20 months...I think Curves charges almost double that! However, now that I think about it, I must spend an extra 20 or more dollars a month on gas to drive there, when Curves is so much closer.

The home sounds beautiful and the friendship sounds even more beautiful!

It's always fun to take part in a loved one's good fortune, isn't it?

And I agree with you about a house being bricks and stones and it's the people and the love that make it a home. I always said I'd rather be living in a cardboard box surrounded by family and friends rather than live in the house of my dreams without them!

Thank you Bernie, for sharing your time spent with your dear friends. I truly agree, a house is just a house until it is filled with love and becomes a home.
Hope that your weather is a bit warmer and that your health is good.
Enjoy Curves, I think I get enough exercise in the yard and garden. Especially when I mow by using the push power mower. Last week mowed for more than 4 hours. I moaned but, actually loved every minute of mowing and watching butterflies and listening to the birds.Warm Fuzzies:)

The house sounds so lovely. I could almost picture it as you walked through it. Doesn't make you happy to see deserving people have such a lovely place. I have a friend who came from nothing and now she has a beautiful home, three lovely kids and 4 wonderful grandchildren. She went through so much in her life and I am happy she has a lovely home and family.

My home is small and comfy. I do not want to clean a big one like that. But I would not turn it down.

Hi Stillness, your right the home is like a palace. I was pleased as Caren left me a note on Facebook saying she loved how I describe her home, she doesn't blog but has read mine and I like that very much.
I do appreciate the little things in life, in fact I appreciate everything in my life, all is good my friend:-) Hugs
